  2. Shoot an even par 72 by getting par on every hole or a few birdies and a few bogies? Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  3. I went to a “top 100” fitter for an iron fitting last year. Instead of the top 100 guy I got the JV squad or fitter in training. I wasn't pleased during the fitting but figured he knew better than I so I made the purchase. Traded the clubs in for an off the rack set 2 months later and game went right back to normal. The other day I was playing as a single and caught the twosome in front of me. Turns out one of them I played a scramble with last year. They picked me for the team because I could drive it around 220. That made me the bomber on the team. I know right....we didn't win. Anyway, I have a new driver that gets me to 240 or so. The dude tells me he went to the same fitter, actually got the top 100 guy, and was blowing the ball by me. So does fitting matter? If done so properly then absolutely. If done poorly it leaves a really bad taste in the mouth and a general distrust of the process. I would never recommend the fitter I went to until I saw this guy hit his driver. But even then you need to make sure you get the right guy. Confusing? It is for guys like me that have average knowledge about the process. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  4. This is kinda related but not really. I saw Tiger today on I think it was 17 mark his ball on the green then whip his ball to his caddie to clean. The hole was surrounded by water and the caddie was out of view on the TV screen so I thought what is the ruling if his caddie misses the ball and it goes in the water? Srixon Z565 Shafts

I played the club today and it is definitely 20 yards longer and straighter out on the course than what I am coming from. I'm fairly certain this is a bit too much shaft for me but it has opened my eyes to what a high level fitting will do for a guy like me if I got the right shaft and not the minimal choices I get on a fitting cart. I watch some of the TXG videos and thought no way. Now I'm thinking I need to go to Toronto. Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy

    Srixon Z565 Shafts

I read a bit about this and just checked my shaft and it does have the hand crafted logo on it so I guess I got the real deal after all. I've been out driven by an 80 year old, all my buddies and a one armed guy so any extra distance I can get is appreciated. Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy

    Srixon Z565 Shafts

Thank you for the info. Yes it worked for me and I made the purchase on the spot. I need distance and this gave it to me and the most accurate of the lot too. I was really just curious because I saw it was a no up charge shaft and could not believe the difference the shaft made for me. I'm talking 30 years of golf and have never seen results like this kind of difference. If I get half the results I got from the monitor on the course it will really help me. Srixon Z565 Shafts

I had some time to kill today so went to golfers warehouse to hit all the drivers. Pulled a Z565 out of the demo bin and it was easily 20 yards longer than all the new stuff. It had a HZRDUS yellow installed. I'm curious if anyone knows if this is the real deal shaft or a “made for Srixon” shaft? I looked at srixon.com and the black and yellow HZRDUS shafts are options but still not sure. Any help is appreciated. Thanks, Wedgie Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy
  9. Hi Rev, I play Cobra one length Irons. Played the Duo for the back 9 on Saturday and this ball just seems to work for me. I'm a little shorter off the tee with it but a little longer with the Irons so it's a wash. I played the Z Star on the front and with my swing speed the higher launch of the Duo stopped better on greens. If I short side myself I'm screwed no matter what ball I play. I guess the good news is the best ball for me is cheap too. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  10. You guys got me thinking so I went back into my Grint app and looked at my history. In 2013 I played the Wilson Duo with Wilson Di11 irons and broke 80 seven times that year. Of course I thought I was too good for those balls and clubs so I switched out both in 2014 and have broken 80 once since then. My handicap was 9.8 then, now it is 13. I'm now back to more forgiving irons, I guess it is time to put the Duo back in play. I have 6 new sleeves of Chrome Soft X Truvis and a dozen Z Stars that I'd be happy to send someone that can use them. They were gifts so I hate to charge anyone so the first to PM me gets their choice of the 2. The second to PM me gets whatever is left. I will only ship within the lower 48 states and I can ship for free from my office. Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy
  11. Let me rephrase my original question. If you had a robot hitting golf balls with everything being the same such as no wind, level ground, sea level, etc...will higher quality balls have tighter dispersion for distance than lower quality balls? Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy
  12. I think if you hook it left or slice it right a higher spinning ball will make it worse. But a push or pull will have the same result regardless of the ball. Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy

  16. Thank you guys for the input. I'm hoping a permanent ball is the fix. If not I'll blame my irons. [emoji3] Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy
  17. I played the other day and when I tee'd off it was 35 and I was a club shorter which I would expect. Warmed up to 55 after the first 9 then the problems began again. Same e6 speed ball the entire round and wind was fairly light all day. It probably is me more than the ball but since I never play “tour” balls and the one time I did my yardage's were spot on it got me thinking. I am going to stick with the Z Star and see what happens over the course of several rounds and not base everything on one round with the Z Star. Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy
  18. I have always struggled with distance control. I'm not talking half shots from 80 yards, I'm talking full swings. I may hit a club 150 on one hole, 170 on the next then 130 a couple holes later. Sometimes it is a miss hit and I understand wind and other factors may cause this but I'm wondering if anyone finds certain balls offer better distance control? I have never really settled on a certain ball and often play lower compression balls from the duo to e6. I seem to play best in the 55-75 compression range. Anyway, picked up some Z Stars for a round last weekend and pretty much everything I hit was pin high all day. You can argue no roll out with a urethane ball but I am accustomed to flying the green 2 or 3 times a round with my irons. Can a ball help in this regard? Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy
  19. Shot an 87 but Arccos had me at a 69. First time breaking 70. I guess it's time to edit the app. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  20. Having the tech myself I find it has been a distraction as I play. If the tech always worked as advertised I'm sure I'd love it. But until it does I have gone back to just enjoying the game and not worrying about if it picked up each shot or not. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  21. I look at the putt like anyone else does. Pick a line, address the ball while looking at ball then once I look at the hole I never look down again. If I feel I need to adjust my aim my hands do it naturally without looking at the ball again. What I have found is it helps me follow thru towards the hole or my line. If I have really long putts with a lot of break I look at the ball. Otherwise always at the back of the cup. Prior to this I'd 2 putt everything for the most part. It hasn't been a magic pill by any means but now I hit a ton more longer putts. If you have any interest in trying it I suggest looking at the hole on 5 footers and closer. Not for everyone but I think it is worth everyone trying it on the practice green. Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy
  22. I started looking at the hole while putting and improved a great deal. Converted a few friends along the way too. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy

  24. I have the Cobra F8 One length Irons and I love them more than my wife. I rarely practice so for me they made sense. I was dialed in yesterday and as a 13 handicap I had 8 birdie putts under 10 feet. Only made two but that's another thread. Biggest thing for me has been no more fat or thin shots and distance control with the same ball position every time is much better. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
