  1. I'd say Bob Marley as the artist since it is an island. Gotta go artist since one song over and over would drive me nuts. Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy
  2. I've been playing my F8 One Length irons for about 3 months now. I have noticed a definite tendency to pull lob-9 and push 5-7. 8 is money. I thought I'd check lie angle specs and I understand their rationale to have different lie angles is because you swing longer irons harder, toe down, etc... But if I look at their specs online they seem to be opposite of the F8 variable length irons. What I mean is the long irons have a lower lie angle and the short irons have a higher lie angle. Shouldn't this be the other way around? Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy

  4. Interesting how they calculate, thanks for sharing this. Distance really seems to be the biggest factor but still neat to see what all they look at. Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy
  5. Thanks Rev....I may hit you up and join you for a round. I play the PGA Village in November and it's not like I shoot lights out, just close to my handicap which annoys my friends. They seem to think you should shoot way over your handicap like they do. Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy
  6. Thanks, I'll try to dig it up. Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy
  7. Every year a group of 8 of us go to Florida to play 6 rounds of golf. Almost every year I am the big winner but I'm always accused of being a sand bagger because I am +/- 2 strokes from my handicap every round. I play a course in Rhode Island I swear is tougher than the ones in Florida. For example I hit 46% of fairways in RI and 82% in Florida because the fairways are huge. In RI they are tight with actual rough and trees. In Florida it is wide open. Greens at my course are postage stamps and in Florida they are 3 times larger. I also play next to the bay so the wind is often howling. Granted my course is about 200 yards shorter but my slope is 121 and in Florida the courses we play are all around 131. Are slope ratings accurate at all? How do they figure them out? I'm starting to feel bad because I try to score my best all the time no matter where I am and I don't fudge my handicap at all. 8. I've been playing the Duo Soft for 3 rounds and shot under my handicap in each. Launches high and lands soft for me and best of all I score better with it. Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy

    Srixon Z565 Shafts

I was alternating between the Mizuno ST180 and Cobra F8. Stock shafts in each. I was fit for both. Interestingly enough the fitter had me at 11.5 loft on Mizuno and the Cobra rep (I won the F8 at an outing) had me at 8.5. Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy
  10. Our games aren't quite the same....the Wilson Duo just kicked all challengers out of my bag. Very nice setup! Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy
  11. I would ask for clarification on “lots to do”. Her idea of lots to do and mine are very different. That being said I'd probably say I'm golfing, about done then show up 2.5 hours later. Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy
  12. I have no idea why other than I was amazed there is a cornhole league to begin with. I didn't realize there was professional team bowling either until I saw it on ESPN earlier today. Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy

  15. I love my Cobra F8 one length irons. I'm 16 rounds in and thought about trading them in a time or two but finally found my ball placement sweet spot and lowering my handicap. Good luck and enjoy! Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy

  18. I went to a “top 100” fitter for an iron fitting last year. Instead of the top 100 guy I got the JV squad or fitter in training. I wasn't pleased during the fitting but figured he knew better than I so I made the purchase. Traded the clubs in for an off the rack set 2 months later and game went right back to normal. The other day I was playing as a single and caught the twosome in front of me. Turns out one of them I played a scramble with last year. They picked me for the team because I could drive it around 220. That made me the bomber on the team. I know right....we didn't win. Anyway, I have a new driver that gets me to 240 or so. The dude tells me he went to the same fitter, actually got the top 100 guy, and was blowing the ball by me. So does fitting matter? If done so properly then absolutely. If done poorly it leaves a really bad taste in the mouth and a general distrust of the process. I would never recommend the fitter I went to until I saw this guy hit his driver. But even then you need to make sure you get the right guy. Confusing? It is for guys like me that have average knowledge about the process. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  19. This is kinda related but not really. I saw Tiger today on I think it was 17 mark his ball on the green then whip his ball to his caddie to clean. The hole was surrounded by water and the caddie was out of view on the TV screen so I thought what is the ruling if his caddie misses the ball and it goes in the water? Srixon Z565 Shafts

I played the club today and it is definitely 20 yards longer and straighter out on the course than what I am coming from. I'm fairly certain this is a bit too much shaft for me but it has opened my eyes to what a high level fitting will do for a guy like me if I got the right shaft and not the minimal choices I get on a fitting cart. I watch some of the TXG videos and thought no way. Now I'm thinking I need to go to Toronto. Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy

    Srixon Z565 Shafts

I read a bit about this and just checked my shaft and it does have the hand crafted logo on it so I guess I got the real deal after all. I've been out driven by an 80 year old, all my buddies and a one armed guy so any extra distance I can get is appreciated. Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy

    Srixon Z565 Shafts

Thank you for the info. Yes it worked for me and I made the purchase on the spot. I need distance and this gave it to me and the most accurate of the lot too. I was really just curious because I saw it was a no up charge shaft and could not believe the difference the shaft made for me. I'm talking 30 years of golf and have never seen results like this kind of difference. If I get half the results I got from the monitor on the course it will really help me. Srixon Z565 Shafts

I had some time to kill today so went to golfers warehouse to hit all the drivers. Pulled a Z565 out of the demo bin and it was easily 20 yards longer than all the new stuff. It had a HZRDUS yellow installed. I'm curious if anyone knows if this is the real deal shaft or a “made for Srixon” shaft? I looked at srixon.com and the black and yellow HZRDUS shafts are options but still not sure. Any help is appreciated. Thanks, Wedgie Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy
  24. Hi Rev, I play Cobra one length Irons. Played the Duo for the back 9 on Saturday and this ball just seems to work for me. I'm a little shorter off the tee with it but a little longer with the Irons so it's a wash. I played the Z Star on the front and with my swing speed the higher launch of the Duo stopped better on greens. If I short side myself I'm screwed no matter what ball I play. I guess the good news is the best ball for me is cheap too. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  25. You guys got me thinking so I went back into my Grint app and looked at my history. In 2013 I played the Wilson Duo with Wilson Di11 irons and broke 80 seven times that year. Of course I thought I was too good for those balls and clubs so I switched out both in 2014 and have broken 80 once since then. My handicap was 9.8 then, now it is 13. I'm now back to more forgiving irons, I guess it is time to put the Duo back in play. I have 6 new sleeves of Chrome Soft X Truvis and a dozen Z Stars that I'd be happy to send someone that can use them. They were gifts so I hate to charge anyone so the first to PM me gets their choice of the 2. The second to PM me gets whatever is left. I will only ship within the lower 48 states and I can ship for free from my office. Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy
