  1. Anyone ever used this or similar counterweight trainer? This is one of the first training aids that I could find no independent reviews. Like all training aids, the developers have glowing reviews. Perhaps this would make for a great MGS test. I am intrigued because I cast and early release and the endswate claims it will help eliminate this flaw. Www.endswate.com
  2. Glad it's working. Keep posting on how it is going. I am adding counterbalancing to mine and possibly some other adjustments. I plan to report how well those work out. Really like the adjustability of the putter. Only thing missing is a loft adjustment.
  3. Great. Let me know how it goes.
  4. I seem to be more accurate with the RX5. That could be due to a few things. As you mentioned the MOI is a little higher. Also, being wider the white perpendicular alignment line on the putter face top edge is a little wider so that may help. I have read that many people, when they get a new putter (or any club), seem to have a "honeymoon" where they putt better, but after the newness wears off they putt as well as they did with their previous putter (and maybe a little worse). For me, I noticed a slight improvement with the RX5 and just seem to be getting a little better as time goes on.
  5. At first I thought the RX5 would be too big, which is why I got the RX4. After using the RX4 I got used to the size (and the comments from my playing partners). So I thought I would try the RX5 and I like it better than the RX4 now. Note that on the RX3 the shaft does not go through the centerline of the putter head like it does for the RX4 and 5. Regarding shaft length, it is fairly easy to lengthen or shorten so don't let that turn you off to a good deal. A golf shop can do it for under $20 i think. I recommend you learn how to do it as you may find you need to experiment with different lengths. My RX5 came with a longer shaft and I decided to keep it that way as I may experiment with counterbalancing. The longer length does really bother me. My "modern putter shaft" comment relates to the recent (last 5 years?) availability of carbon fiber putter shafts that have more torque stiffness and other differences with traditional metal putter shafts. I really don't know much about them other than they are expensive and tricky to integrate on a putter with a curved end at the attachment to the putter head. Talked to a putter clubmaker that is familiar with the Cure putters and he didn't think it would help. The earlier RX1 and 2 sometimes come up at an attractive price but I would not get them as the improvements with the RX4 and 5 are worth the extra money.
  6. Sorry for the late reply as I just saw this. Honestly I can't recall the sound it makes. It wasn't enough different than any of the various other putters I have used. Or maybe I am just not tuned into the sound and simply focus on the putt. Regarding the RX4, I used it up until last March. It worked well. Then I came across an RX5 on ebay for a reasonable price. I decided to use it like it was before putting a longer shaft in. Turned out I was, and still am, putting better with it than the armlock RX4. I added some more weight to the head and may experiment with adding even more weight. I also came across an RX3 that I got for my wife who has just started golfing 2 years ago. She had a terrible time lining up putts with her previous putter. The RX3 has been so much better. I also got the lie angle set for her so that helps. One thing that I think might make the Cure RX putters even better is one of the modern putter shafts. I may contact Cure to see if I can get some of the head "pucks" to put a shaft in.
  7. My Ridgid jobsite fan does put out some serious CFM and I love it for use at home. It is just too big to mount on the cart. I could use the Ridgid battery with the Ridgid USB converter adapter I have to power a USB fan that does not have the battery built in.
  8. The one I got from Amazon was similar. Mine had a big battery pack on the back that seemed to block a lot of the airflow. It just didn't put out as much airflow as I wanted.
  9. I do all the things mentioned: wet towel, reflective umbrella, plenty of water. Still, when there is no breeze I think the fan would help greatly.
  10. I have the Ridgid equivalent. I think it would be too big for the Clicgear.
  11. Surprised no one has weighed in here. Does anybody have a fan on their pushcart when it is hot out???
  12. When it gets hot and humid I struggle when pushing my clicgear 3-wheel cart around the course. I bought a fan with rechargeable battery but I could barely feel the breeze from the fan. The fan had 3 flexible legs that I wrapped around the handlebar. I think the problems was the battery was mounted behind the fan and blocked too much air as the fan tried to pull it past the battery case. Has anyone found a good fan for their pushcart?
  13. Looking for both. I will check out the GPS next time I play. Thanks.
  14. Grint has Hole flyover which is ok. 18Birdies has much better hole overview. Need to signup for subscription, but then you can cancel.
  15. I am retired NASA and play in the NASA league, about every 3-4 weeks. We hit some high end courses like Kingsmill, Ford Colony and others like Riverfront, Stumpy Lake. I use the Grint (free version) for keeping track of my scores so I will check it out, but isn’t the added functionality a subscription? Thanks.
  16. Looking for a basic iPhone app that shows the hole layout and distances to hazards. Our work golf league plays a variety of courses new to me. I have hit shots into hazards I didn’t know were there. Doesn’t need to be fancy. I am ok paying for the app, but don’t want a subscription.
  17. I use Pure jumbo wrap grips on all my clubs. I have an old Doug Saunders chipper, which I use from 100 yards in unless I have a hazard next to the green. Much more consistent than with high loft clubs. This has been a consistent club for me, though I am fighting an over-the-top tendency lately.
  18. Hope this is the correct forum to ask. Has anyone sold clubs to Golfetail, and did the transaction go ok? I ask because they have some shaky reviews, but these were from people buying something. I did buy a couple pairs of shoes from them and it went ok.
  19. Just to add to the two Pure users here. Everything they said plus I can install, adjust and remove them easily myself with air pressure. I have some Pure grips that are 5 years old and no wear as far as I can tell. I use the Pure Jumbo wraps and they work great with my arthritic hands. Only issue some may have with the Jumbos is they are a bit heavy, but that's not a big deal me.
  20. The place I stay in Florida has a little diving range. I hit a red Callaway ball about 210 yards (about my limit). I could see the ball. I hit about 20 more balls and then went to pick them up. The red ball was gone. So someone in a golf cart or an alligator took it.
  21. Funny you mention the bell. This was my first time playing there and my teammate mentioned the bell hole. I thought he was referring to the shape of the fairway??? When we get to the bell the post and frame was there but the bell was gone. A nearby homeowner probably stole it as it would get old fast hearing it rung throughout the day. I didn’t realize until now what it was there for (duh).
  22. Most courses I play are flat enough that we can see the group in front so we don’t hit into them. I just played a tournament on a very hilly course with several holes that the group behind could not see us (no one was in front of us). Afterwards they said it was frustrating as they waited longer than they would like to tee off so they wouldn’t hit us. Afterwards I thought, why didn’t we get set for one of us text one of them when it was safe to hit? Seems simple.
  23. I am getting fit for a new set of single length irons (Wishon). My plan was to get 2 of the iron I use most (7 iron). I was going to use one for practice so I wouldn’t wear out my playing club. My fitter wanted me to start with one club and play it several rounds to make sure the shaft was right. It turned out the shaft didn’t work quite right for me. So he put a different shaft in the second head. That one is working better. Not sure yet if we will try a 3rd shaft for fine tuning or just put a matching shaft in the first head. Obviously I am not in a hurry as this process is taking some time. My fitter is great and is working with me to get the best fit.
