yesterday would have been a good round but I left 5 putts a half a roll away from the cup , including #8 the dreaded par 4 that everyone at our club hates. Could have been a par - but walked off with a bogie.

Our's just started up this past weekend. Last year we were boating around the (Lake Erie) islands and saw a huge black cloud - looked like there was a fire on Put-In-Bay. Turned out to be a swarm of mayflies.

Yesterday - Par 4, 305 yards. Bad drive, with 155 yards to go, my 9 wood got me to with 4 ft of the pin and then a short putt for a bird. .

Went out and played immediately after a lesson on my Driver. Note I don't recommend doing this as the front was a disaster. I started doing better on the back but ended up with a 95 for 18.

It seems like some pro shops push certain club manufacturers. Do some pay special incentives or "spiffs" for promoting their products? Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy

I can't imagine the pressure on Sunday for her. She had a bunch of very talented ladies looking to advance on the last day. How unusual for someone to hold the lead for all four days. Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy

Meet Walter Barnes – All golfers should live so long as to become this kind of old man! Toward the end of the Sunday service, the Minister asked, "How many of you have forgiven your enemies?" 80% held up their hands. The Minister then repeated his question. All responded this time, except one man, Walter Barnes. "Mr. Barnes, are you not willing to forgive your enemies?" "I don't have any," he replied gruffly. "Mr. Barnes, that is very unusual. How old are you?" "Ninety-eight," he replied. The congregation stood up and clapped their hands. "Oh, Mr. Barnes, would you please come down in front and tell us all how a person can live ninety-eight years and not have an enemy in the world?" The old golfer tottered down the aisle, stopped in front of the pulpit, turned around, faced the congregation, and said simply, "I outlived all them assholes" - and he calmly returned to his seat.

I agree - especially on the point about different sets being a 'crapshoot'. I'm a high handicapper and was very surprised at the results of my iron fitting. The clubs and shafts I had a preference for had much poorer results (Trackman) then the final recommendation. Not sure of your proximity to fitters in Portugal, D_Golfer, but if not available, then perhaps renting different sets could be a possibility? I know when we played in Australia, we were able to rent "premium sets" which were basically new golf clubs. Another alternative is getting advice from an instructor you have confidence in.

John, my recent fitting recommendation was the D-7's with Recoils, so I'll be interested in your final results.

Good points. Just curious - my experience with gas carts on other course has been that they're a bit "jerky' on start-up is that the same with your Yamaha? (disclaimer - these were older carts on those courses and not sure of the brand)
