Titliest Velocity, found a couple this weekend on the course and they were flying off the tee! A lot of articles out there say the same thing

5 wood all day. Had a 3H and made the switch, little more distance and forgiving.

Buddy has one he let me hit at the range, to me the face feels dead on impact. This is also his second one as he has the peeling issues. Personally for 7 yards longer vs accuracy, I’d take accuracy every day

So we are looking at both TrackMan and Full Swing simulators for our community clubhouse. We have an older barely functioning full swing right now. We’ve done our research and for a cost difference of $4,000 more for TrackMan, was wondering those who have hit both or thoughts in general on the choices?

Going solo to TPC Myrtle Beach on June 9th at 7:45 am if anyone is down there and wants to join

I did the opposite and went hybrid to Ping 2 iCrossover and regret it. Already looking back to the hybrid.

Starter is my Cameron Golo and then if I really struggle the Cobra Supernova will come out. I love both though

Never seen that with the Bridgestones. Usually they last a while

I worked at a SIM over the winter and put A LOT of rounds and shots in. What I did is turn the worn ball into a wedge ball and hit all my woods and irons down to 9i or so with a new ball. They really don't wear the ball like a wedge does. When the wedge ball is getting pretty haggard, swap the old "new" ball into wedges service and put a new new ball into play. The ProV1 RCT last a REALLY long time if you do that.
I’ve been using the RCT balls and they’re wearing pretty good

He was putting it behind the mark to the original spot. Which is why I saw no issue

Swing flaws are making it even harder to hit the 2i.
The reality of shafts is that nobody can tell you what’s better between 2 shafts. How things feel to one person can feel differently to another. That feel can have positive, negative or no influence in performance of a club.
If the 80g feels whippy then you may want to go to a heavier shaft like Gen 4 black hybrid in 90 of 105.
Understandable, just hit my 4 iron so well and never really liked the hybrid

Which is more important shaft weight or flex? Both.
Black and Green are very similar in profile, but what tip size do you need? I thought the green was only available in .335 so you'd have to shim it for a 2i. If it's a .370 hosel 2i then the black hybrid should be a a fit without doing extra work.
If you think the black 80 hybrid is still whippy you could move up to the 90, or just up to a TX instead of the 6.5 in flex.
Complete side note here so please take it with a many grains of salt. I've never seen you play or watched you swing. However with 115+ drive SS I would think your 200yd club would closer to a 5i than a 2i. I would suggest getting fit if at all possible because I don't think you are getting everything you can out of that club.
Like I said my biggest problem is steep attack angle, creating backspin. I hit my 4 iron 215 and the 2 iron 200 (per Arccos avgs) but that just doesn’t make sense to me. I can almost feel the club head not getting around. Especially when I try to do a very low punch out.
it’s a .370 tip, which you are correct green doesn’t have so they’d have to shim it. (I wouldn’t do the work cause I don’t trust myself.)
-
I don’t have the exact numbers (as the sim I have access to wont pick up the 2 iron) but I’m hitting a 2 iron 200 yards as almost a deep pop fly with 115+ driver swing speed (so obviously less).
I know my swing is too steep and the backspin I put on the ball is high. That being said the smoke green 6.5 on my driver really brought the height / backspin down and I got about 30+ yards

I was given a few as well and saw the same issues. Scuffs and chips in paint but overall the ball was a great ball

You did part of the research, you found Rule 14.1a. The next step is to look at the Clarifications, and 14.1a/1 says "A ball may be marked in any position around the ball so long as it is marked right next to it, and this includes placing a ball-marker in front of or to the side of the ball." Your second friend was simply wrong.
The second friend was flat wrong to give incorrect Rules information to a new player. He might have done better by telling the noob that its traditional to mark behind, but the only important requirements are "right next to the ball", and returning he ball to its original location. But that route would mean that he actually knew the Rule, when its clear that he didn't.
Thank you I could not find that clarification! Just seemed weird to me. I assumed as long as the ball ends up in the exact spot it came from it doesn’t matter where the mark is. I figured like you move it a putter length away to get from someone’s line etc why does the placement matter?

I don't know if it's a penalty stroke, but it's probably against the grain and in that gray area or quandry of ethicalness in golf. Seeing how every single pro, every tournament partner, every club member (I've seen), and everyone is taught to mark behind, I definitely feel like he's trying to game something. Like putting the marker in front, then replacing his ball in front of the marker and hoping no one notices. Again maybe not a penalty but I do think your friend was in the right for calling him out on it.
If you do that, that’s putting ball in the wrong spot. To me that’s a clear violation
-
So was playing with friends. one being a new learner and he went to mark his ball, but he placed his coin in front of his ball. Another friend claimed that was a penalty stroke and he could not mark in front of his ball. My research of ball marking didn’t find anything that said it was illegal. “Marker must be placed right beside the ball” does anyone know the specifics of this?

The Cobra Big 3 in the rad speed sounds like a good one for you. The larger head is nice and you can find them used fairly affordable. I absolutely love the club, very hot face and easy to hit

Which is more important shaft weight or flex? I got a Ping 2iron and love the head but the smoke red is too high launching and whippy. In my driver I use smoke green 6.5 but they only make that in a 70g instead of the 80g hy weight. So I am wondering 6.5 70g green or 80hy smoke black (which still feels whippy and high launch)

There are some that like the TPC course and some that can't stand it. Depending on where your staying and how much driving you want to do makes a difference in recommendations.
South, Caledonia, True Blue, Heritage
Central, Dunes, Pine Lakes, any course at Barefoot, Wildwing, Arrowhead
North, Longbay, Rivers Edge, Thistle, Oyster Bay
Staying in north Myrtle, don’t mind driving 30-45 min

Heading to Myrtle in June and was thinking of playing TPC Course, as there’s been issues every time getting on there when I’ve been in town. Anyone play it? Thoughts or other courses I should play instead.
I’ve played world tour and kings north the last two trips

Scotty Golo and Cobra Supernova, always nice to have a 2nd putter if I start to struggle with one. A quick switch will help me get that back on track
