  1. 45/45=90... Still chasing the white whale. Honestly this was the most frustrating way to do it. 6 pars, 6 Bogeys, 6 Double's. Had a par streak on the back 9 of 2 holes going, Was feeling good, then the dreaded 205 yd par 3 thats over a valley, so you cant miss short, took a double, next hole par 5, double, looked at my playing partner and said there goes my sub 90. 2 holes left 16 over, hole I always struggle with par'd. Needed a 5 or better on the last hole, decided to play it smart and put the driver away for my hybrid (best distance club in the bag) Duffed the tee shot about 100 yards, great recovery shot about 80 yards out (watch said it was 105 when I looked at it before the shot) pulled out my 100 club, 15 yards behind the pin on the fringe. Putting has been my strength all day, beautiful lag putt, about 18 inches from the hole tops (all I have to do it tap it in) and I break 90! Guys I'm with say that's good (they know I never miss those). Couldnt take a milestone on a gimme. Lined it up, the GPS watch decided to vibrate right as I went to putt, pushed it for a 6... 90 again. (we had no one behind us, so I attempted the putt 10 more times, drained all 10).
  2. House of Cards!! Best show on Netflix!
  3. Wish I could, Ive been playing my best golf with the bum shoulder all summer
  4. 1 word - Surgery... This will be my 2nd rotator cuff repair surgery on my right shoulder and 4th overall. Doc doesnt understand how I can have a major tear and 2 minor tears in my shoulder and function let alone golf. Golf season ends Aug 15.
  5. Shot a 90 and 91... Still chasing the breaking 90. Its now getting frustrating. Had a chance Saturday to do it, needed a 5 or better on the last hole, on it 3, instead of taking the two putt 89 felt over confident in my putting and missed bad. 3 putt 90.
  6. I honestly don't remember my first time breaking 100. I do remember my first hole out shot like it was yesterday (It was in 2006) was about 100 yards out, hit a pitching wedge to the green, we looked for 5 min to find the dang ball, finally looked in the hole, there it was. Couldn't believe I did that. Still have that ball! On Sunday, I had the chance to finally break 90. I was on the green in 3, all I had to do was 2 putt from about 10 feet away, slight downhill but if I missed the hole by more than 6 inches, it went hard downhill. Instead of lagging up and taking my 89, I went for it and missed and down the hill. 3 putt... 90. I have never felt so bad about what was such a good round. I wanted to just fall down on the green.
  7. butler's wood side course with MGS member SilentP Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  8. Shot a 90... breaking 90 is still my white whale. Had triple, double double on the last 3 holes. Missed a hole in one by inches. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  9. Thanks I've never broken 90 and all day was thinking this was the day, doubled the first hole, bogey on 2, then par'd it home. As good as I played, I sit here and think there's 3 or 4 shots I'd like back. 2 shots in particular come to mind...First hole, the scope picked up a tree 20 yards behind the green, bladed a 9 iron when I should have been using a 52 wedge. I was on 9 (a par 5 in 2) and had about a 35 footer, knew I could two putt no matter what, was disappointed we werent going to continue so I could break 90, so I didnt take time or line it up, or really even "try" ended up 3 putt par, only 3 putt of the day.
  10. Apes has always been a nickname of mine and 44 was my number (still obsessed with it) Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  11. Best round of my life! 39... 7 GIR, 7 Pars in a row. Wanted to finish the 18 but the front 9 took 2 hour 45 mins so we never would have got it in.
  12. Having shoulder problems... again (this will probably be my 4th shoulder surgery 2 on L, 2nd on R) Im beginning to think the last surgeon screwed it up worse. Went for the MRI, they had issues injecting the dye so they kept moving the needle around in my shoulder, didnt hurt then, but today I cant lift my arm
  13. Yesterday was a round that I debated if I'd take my clubs home. Shot a 52 on my home course, that I havnt shot over 50 on all summer, other than my first time out. I am working on tweaking my swing and really activating my hips for more power, which when I do it correct, the balls goes dead straight, however my normal iron shot is a strong draw. So when I aim straight of course I dont activate my hips as well and it slices, when I aim left, it goes dead straight. I was pin high on 2nd shots on probably 4 of my 2nd shots.
  14. Played twice this weekend, 96/93. The 93 was on my home course and was frustrating because the two holes I normally par, took a double and a triple.
  15. Following the sentiments of everyone else, PGA Tour level, not ok, weekend hacker, to some extent alright. My buddy and I talk about it all the time, the courses we play arent PGA tour kept, so the grass is missing in spots or burned out, just general things these guys would have to deal with. Most of the time we just tell the other person move the ball and dont break a club or wrist
  16. Played twice over the weekend, shot a 104 and a 94... Frustrating game for sure
  17. Running, something peaceful about running with nothing but some good music
  18. I wasnt focused on it during the roun, but after 9 (we were only supposed to play 9, I was sitting at 42, best I'd ever shot on the front 9 at this course) so I said lets continue and then the wheels fell off on 11 when I bladed a 60 yard chip shot 60 yards past the hole. Started losing control of my drive which made me try for shots that I shouldnt have been. Like I said its gratifying and frustrating all at once, that I hate this game I want to quit feeling when I saw it was 91, but then also this is the best youve ever played be happy feeling makes me want to get back out. More so just ranting to people who I know would understand, the fiance was like "you did great why are you mad" and was done with it
  19. Days like today are what make the game great and frustrating all at once. Had the best round of my life at 91 (42/49) last 2 holes on the back triple, double. Thought today was the day I'd finally break 90. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  20. On of the most frustrating rounds I've ever had yesterday. Local muni course known for slow play, dad and I were the first ones off in the afternoon, they pair you up with others, we got paired with a walker and you could see the after work line up starting to form. This instantly got in my head because I hate being the person to hold everyone else up (and really when you let one group play through at this course, its just a parade of people playing through) My dad and I arent slow golfers but I shoot low 90's he shoots low 100's but is always ready to play when its his turn. Felt rushed the entire time, the super slice on the driver was back, irons were off, ended up taking a 50 with a par on the last hole. Was just not an enjoyable round
  21. My dads refusal to buy clubs suited for him... He got a ping 3 wood (while he was in china) that he cant hit at all, (neither can I, mostly because its hitting a brick on a stick) and he's been using a stiff shafted 9* Callaway ERC. Hes older and has very slow swing speed. I got him a new to him driver from a friend, thats regular flex shaft and it added about 50 plus yards, but he still refuses to even consider upgrade his woods or hybrid because "I cant hit those".
  22. So maybe I am different, but I made the recommended changes and the draw turned in to a major slice. When I lowered the loft back down it went back to a slight draw
  23. Thanks for the help, I adjusted it from -.6 to +.6 so we'll see how it goes tomorrow.
  24. Im not sure what the Ping does now, the guy at golf galaxy said if you lofted up it opened it
