Well, when I'm OB with the driver on 3 holes out of 9... yeah I'll take the 3w or the Heavenwood from the tee every time 🤣

To keep things on track - I always like to see what clubs the CCC testers think they're going to love at the start, vs what club becomes their security blanket as the challenge progresses. I know in past years, the Cobra fairways really shined for a good amount of players.

Hoping that big tour 3 wood meets that same shine theory! I really need a distance club that I can control consistently

Me:  bombs drive.  7i approach shot, chunks it.

Arccos:  you should have taken one more club!  Look how much you're leaving short!!

    Me:  But I ch...

Arccos: 6i next time!  please! for crying out loud!

    next time:

Me:  bombs drive.  7i approach shot.  eh, maybe I try the 6, it's just about a perfect 7.

    Me:  Chunks it.

Arccos:  you should have used the 5i!!!!!   You just keep leaving it short!

    reads stats:

"you're losing strokes because of distance off the tee"

Haha this is so true! It’s like every good drive is followed by a chunk!

Glad I’m not the only one!

I'm noticing a trend with among us in the Cobra Connect Challenge...

Arccos: Y'all need to work on your damn irons and wedges.

Us: Can't wait to bomb it off the tee!

    Arccos: Irons! Wedges!

Us: This 3W from the fairway is going to be the best!

    Arccos: *facepalm*

    Us: Bombs!

It is comical that most of the rounds we've posted, we've lost shots on approach and short game. Glad we're all in the same boat, regardless of handicap.

And what’s strange is that’s where I’ve always felt like I kept myself in the game and arrcos is telling me I don’t…

I don’t think 6000 with a driver is physically possible. Were you on trackman indoors? Then chances are those spin numbers were in italics, which means trackman is estimating spin number and not actually reading it

I was indoors. I don’t remember if it was in italics or not. The guy said I was getting 7 iron spin with a driver.

Not sure if you can get on a launch monitor like GC Quad but I was just able too and it was an eye opening experience. I have been mostly self taught and lately have the same issue, swing speed around 105 on course but hitting it 220. For me the issue is obviously multiple, I deliver too much dynamic loft (well north of 20), plus hitting up gets launch numbers averaging around 18, that and the open face and massively out to in path get the spin around 3500 to 4000.

Of course I am not sure what specifically is doing that for you but wanted to share my experience. So I am currently working to really exaggerate the shallowing/ coming from the inside with a slightly close face to path. I do this by really keeping the right elbow tucked in. This should all help in theory bring down dynamic loft a bit but still launch ok if I hit a bit up on it and lower the spin. Only time will tell and seeing how far off I was on my own has me contemplating lessons for the first time ever. Good luck on your journey to get this delivery more improved.

My spin numbers were up in the 6000 range! It was bad

There are a lot of drills that will help you hit more up on the ball.   The best one I have seen is to put a headcover about a grip length in front of the ball and when you swing miss the headcover with your driver.

I will try this tomorrow and hope I don’t lose my head cover!

  6. So my driver distance has been dropping, according to arrcos it’s in the low 200’s with a swing speed in the 105-110 range, hitting high pop ups, I’ve tried moving it back in my stance, lower tee, etc. from what the trackman at a local store says my attack angle is too steep. I am striking my long irons well though and getting 155yds with my 7 iron.

Anyone have any tips or ways I can fix this and get some distance back?

LOL I never knew what a sneaker head was untill they had a discussion over on WRX one night. Even if I am an old fart I thought it was cool. Not my cup of tea but I find it cool

My collection is small but I kind of enjoy the bit of personality they show. It’s a crazy world, maybe even moreso than the golf equipment nuts

This. That’s a size in any athletic footwear that goes quickly and has a high demand.

The secondary market for high demand golf shoes like jordans in size 10 is a good 15-20% higher for that size than under size 9. 9/9.5-13 is the range of popular size.

Totally get that, I am a sneaker head off the course and it’s never easy
