Glad everyone is getting out to throw their back out today!

@Shankster I think swinging like this can be helpful, 1) helps you realize what you can get up to and 2) I was playing around with yesterday what I felt comfortable with getting up to, for me 104 felt pretty good and could be a crisp shot, range time hopefully to tell. That 131 is impressive, I might have to get out of my office in a few minutes and see....Post to come....

@edingcnice work there, how did you feel swinging all out with it? I found a couple times getting a wider base helped me feel a little more stable and could potentially if I really wanted to crank it up on course.

Anyway I am hoping that since I dont have the SS sticks this could atleast help me get up that speed again.

I will feel it tomorrow....  my guess is all of these would have been a partial duck hook.

    I don’t own a 4 iron. Guess I can’t compete in this pissing contest. emoji1787.pngemoji23.png

Maybe I’ll try the 5 iron later... just remember it’s -1/2 in length too!

I legitimately thought I would be 100 or less even maxed out.  I do not see what distance this would equate to on course... if I did, I would be in the trees on the left 99% of the time with a pull hook.

Those are some legitimately crazy numbers regardless of how uncontrolled you were.

My best 4 iron effort was a little short...

No kidding.  I didn’t lose my balance, and it was actually better I think at 130%... now, I just need to learn how to use it....

It might be in the woods but it’s going somewhere!
will never hit this on course but hey crank it up when ya can!

I’m going to see what I can do today... with my 4 iron.  My guess is 97 tops...  shooting for 122 though, that should motivate me into swinging the 97 that I’m thinking.

This release from Srixon is sure to get some discussion and firm opinions, even bringing up memories from the old PING Vintage.  What are your thoughts?

    Yes... PING 100%

I only say this because I’m jealous AF I can’t swing that fast. We need to try to get something setup soon with this weather! After y’all are settled in at the new shack!

My shoulders hurt just thinking about trying to move that fast... probably my back too, and every tendon attached to every muscle included in the golf swing... ouch.

With this gorgeous weather being able to swing every day is really nice. Today just tried to crank up my speed. Was 104-109 with my 4 iron (I dare not swing driver outside yet. Don’t want to scratch her up prematurely 😂). Swing feels really good this early 255FABD2-31B9-43EE-96A4-301D6489535A.jpeg.aa42b88b9b5ff70875abca92db8083ad.jpeg

Got a little sauce in there eh?  109 4 iron... 📬 it!

happens around here a lot.  I am guessing it is more about ball retrieval than the rain.

Weird.... this place is rather saturated.  And they say it rains a lot in Washington. 🙄

  9. Making the pilgrimage to Bubba’s Sweet Shop, and the Pensacola Golf Center....

Looking to play Lost Key, and whatever they have on NAS Pensacola.  3 days hopefully that I can sneak out, as long as the weather holds up.  Might end up being Lost Key all 3 times...

Still love The Hobbit & Lord of the Rings. Jack London and Joseph Conrad have lots of good stuff. Right now I'm reading Catch 22 and this is a great book. Like others, The Great Gatsby is also good.

I was a history major, so in grad school I read mountains of non-fiction. In a 16 week class we would read at least 12 books plus whatever you also read for your research papers. I'm happy to make recommendations if there are other history buffs out here.

    Take Dead Aim

Oh man... I complain about reading 3 textbooks... 😳 12?

  11. I’ll have to vote for the Bible as well...

especially lately I’ve been in Acts what an adventure that is.  Love it.

Other book is the old man in the sea.  Seems to be a common pick, just a great book.

A video clip of the swing and valid ID please... still operating on the "trust but verify" from the recent abduction attempt 🙂

Makes no sense to me based on my "swing out of my shoes" attempts and results.  Tempo is the absolute key to my best ball striking, throughout the bag.  Like most, I do tend to lean into drives for that extra distance but try hard to focus on tempo. But if swinging all out works for you, stay with it until the results or your body dictates otherwise.

I’ll get a video next while I’m in Florida.  Just have to find a course without any nearby homes with lots of windows... 😂😂

The G410LST 3W head is definitely one of the smallest 3W heads on the market.  I love it though.  Will be interesting to see how I do with a more "standard" size head.

Swing speed was about 110-111 with the driver today because im still a bit fatigued from my 2nd vaccine dose.  Driver was carrying between 272 and 282 today.

So carry numbers with the 3Ws off the deck were sitting between 243 and 248 yards and even those were low due to poor strikes due to the wonky mat (they are getting replaced next week haha).  Would expect those to be in the upper 250s once I get my strength back and I'm hitting off more realistic surfaces

Nice.  Can’t complain with those numbers.  And it does look pretty danged good too.

First launch monitor test with the STZ 3 wood was today and it passed with flying covers.  Was getting about 1 MPH more ball speed with better spin numbers (around 3200) than my G410 LST.   Tended to miss lower on the face with the Mizuno, but chalked that up to the hitting mat I was on.  Cannot wait to get it on the course to see how it really performs.

Man... that makes the PING look like a long nosed driver from the Tom Morris era.

    What was the carry #?

Is that like scarlet and gray? 😜

I know nothing of those colors.  I will say that “red and gray” do look good together.  Just not when they are playing the team up north.... looking forward to the annual butt whippin this fall... can’t wait to her what Harbaugh says this time...

  16. I have the T-100•S and recently picked up a SM8 48° wedge to fill the gap.  I don’t use it for anything but full swings usually, so I kind of wish I went with the 48° I’m from the set.

Growing up that was the #1 thing my dad taught me... 1,2,3 (to top of backswing) - 1 (to impact), 2 (to finish).

I think I saw a video comparing Bryson's old and new swings and while he's much faster now and goes from start to finish as quickly  as he used to get to impact, the tempo is still the same, just quicker back and quicker through so he's still in sync.

Yep.. that’s what I’m doing too...
