  1. Looks like the Maxfli Tour deals are over. Seems they have jumped to 109 for 4 doz. I wonder if that was because of the up coming USGA/RA decision on ball roll backs? Trying to capitalize on potential ball grab?
  2. @BallsLeon looks like that @GolfSub70 009 mallet is still agreeing with you. Nice stats.
  3. For me, I started when I was 10 or so. It was a way for me to get some "me time" with my dad. I just enjoyed the game and found I was OK at it. I stay at it cause it is a fun sport that I can play at my age and play it pretty well. Hitting just one flushed in a round, or making that 40 foot putt keeps me coming back. Sure the pros can beat the pants off me anytime but every now and then, "I" actually hit a shot/putt as good as any pro.
  4. Trust what your Dr says and your PT guy. Listen to them and heed their advise. You're retired now so take the time to do it right. Best of luck to you man.
  5. Nothing new from anyone else. My vote is not fixing the ball marks on the green. Easy to do. I've volunteered at courses as a ranger and one of out duties was to walk the greens and repair ball marks. That takes a bunch of time, even with a repair tool.
  6. Congratulations folks. I sure hop you have as much fun as I did earlier this year testing. Looking forward to your results.
  7. @William P Glad to hear you are starting back. Welcome to the forum, glad to see it.
  8. Ah man, what beautiful weather. It's great to be alive. Our typical mid Oct weather. Glad you took the chance and headed out. A whole new mind set for sure. Good job.
  9. For me I would say 50/50. Yes the shaft upgrade was cool and yes I could tell the feel difference between my old stand by and my new "in the bag" Sub 70 004. The other 50 was definitely the quality of their milling. Top notch. @GolfSub70 has a winner there.
  10. @Mr Orange, really jealous that you were out last week. Way to go man. Glad to hear it.
  11. I'm most certainly a shag bagger. Have 2, one stays in the truck all the time and one for the yard. I like the flexibility and ease in which to re-gather my shots. I am amazed at how costly they seem to have gotten. Last one I bought was 24.95, quite a few years ago. The bag is wearing thin but still working.
  12. Welcome to the forum @michaeljordy3132. You ask some very interesting questions. Many have been asked before and are posted. Because they have been tossed around before you may not get the results that you are looking for. You might conduct a search for them and add some of your thoughts which will expand that thread. Welcome to the forum.
  13. What are your favorite, non-instructional type of golf books? If you don't want to offend one of your golfing friends by getting him or her a "How to stop slicing" or "Golf Rules for Dummies" book what do you get? These are some of my favorite decent reading books but do center around a golf theme. Currently reading "A Course Called America" by Tom Coyne Then there is a favorite of mine, "Chicken Soup for the Golfer's Soul" by Jack Canfield, Mark Victor Hansen, Jeff Aubery, with Mark and Chrissy Donnelly. A trilogy, "Miracle on the 17th Green" by James Patterson and Peter De Jonge. Followed by "Miracle at Augusta" same authors and "Miracle at St. Andrews". You guessed it, same authors. All five are great reads and in my humble opinion (yes, I'm one of those old farts that types out everything) are well worth it at gift exchange time. If you have some favorites, certainly feel free to add your two cents. Happy Thanksgiving all.
  14. Elkhop08 welcome to the forum. Thanks for your input. I hope you are able to obtain some great info as well.
  15. Paul, welcome to the forum. Hope you gain some great insights as well as continued sharing. Welcome aboard.
  16. Don't allow frustrations to take over. Heck you were able to get out at least. Form will come back.
  17. It's with a heavy heart that I have to announce that I had my last round for the 2023 season today. Weather was really decent for Nov. Temp hit 60*, a little overcast but not bad. Wind dropped off to about 25 so it was doable. 5/8 fairways hit. The 3 misses were all within 5 ft so not bad. Hit 6/9 GIR. Using the @GolfSub70 004 mallet putting stats still trended in the right direction, in spite of all the leaves still on the greens. Shot 38, so if it is the last one this season, I'm happy with the score.
  18. @Freebee, thanks for your input and welcome bunches to the forums. Great to hear your experiences. Hope you get as much out of it that I have over the years. Welcome.
  19. Loved your pics of the Sandhill Cranes.
  20. At first, I had figured that I would be using the "How did you play" forum. Yesterday was a beautiful late fall day for mid MI. Lots of sun, temps in the lower 50's. Only set back was the wind. Gusts back up to 35 again, but I was ready to battle. What I wasn't ready for is the course had not done anything to try and remove leaves for the past 5 days. It appears they laid off most of their grounds staff for the year. I lost 3 balls in the first 2 holes. All in the fairway! To avoid frustrations from taking over I decided to walk a few more holes to about 100 yards and practice pitching to the green with a couple of balls. So my round turned into a mini practice session. Hopefully tomorrow at a different course.
  21. Still watching for that course that will let me walk and take my pup. Someday maybe. I sure could use her at this time of the year to search for my mishits.
  22. @snoopy79, @Mr Orange looks like maybe the upcoming week may allow us 1 or 2 potential rounds. Not sure about your area @BallsLeon.
  23. Definitely got away with a bonus day of golf. November in mid Michigan can be brutal. Today not too bad. 48* and a lot of standing water in fairways from yesterdays rain and snow. Nice and sunny but the wind was nasty. Blowing steady at 30 mph WNW gusts of 38. There were leaves blowing in from the next county over. Even though less than ideal conditions...it was still golf. Yipee! Played 9 and had to keep the ball low from wind and even if it did balloon up, when it landed it stayed in its own mark. No bouncing or run out. Still had a decent round. Shot a 40 even after bogies on 3 out of the last 4 holes. These last four were all directly into the wind. I couldn't predict where those balls were going to go. But all good regardless. Even had one putt that was a triple banker off leaves and just ended short.
  24. I have to admit this net bundle is a good product. I have had this set up in my barn for year round use. Have had it for over 5 years and it holds up very well. Using a target sheet helps extend the life of the product. On average, I hit 125 balls per week, every week. As I said I have used it for over 5 years. I liked it so much that I bought a second one to take when I go camping.
