  1. Well said Stu!! I now have almost a week under my belt with the Otto Phlex. My Ventus / Velocore is back in the Titleist head. I paid $92 for the best training aid that I have ever used. The Pro Launch will make it's way into the club possibly once a week simply as a training aid now. I have not missed a fairway with the Ventus in 3 days. The Pro Launch ladies, 45 gram enabled me to feel where the club head was in the swing and found I was not completing my swing. Every club in the bag is feeling so much better. I think this shaft would feel like the "Lagshot" training club. The Pro Launch was just hitting the ball too high. Even at 8 degrees, I was launching it at 20 degrees. Some might consider this a failed experiment, but I am thrilled. I have several heads sitting around, I might just change the tip to fit one of the odd heads so I don't have to keep changing shafts. Good luck to everyone.
  2. Round 2 with the Graphalloy Prolaunch Blue. Does it go further?? Maybe a little. I hit everything high anyway, so this is not a surprise. Several guys hit it and gained at least 20 yards with an 8 degree TSI4 head. What I will tell you without a doubt, it has helped my golf swing immensely. From 175, I almost holed 2 5 irons. Shot my lowest round in months, even 72. I play an event this weekend and will probably use my Ventus. I did lose one drive to the right and made bogey. If you are not committed to the swing, it can go terribly wrong. Right now, I am going to use the shaft when I play in non-tournament events unless I get even more comfortable with it. I was going to add a 3 wood shaft, but my current white Tensei 70S in the Titleist TSI3 so working better than ever. I think this Otto Phlex experiment is an absolute success .. it is a swing aid that you can play with and might actually get into the bag. The $92 cost was well spent ... paid for over half of it today I do think if I had gone with the Senior instead of the ladies 45, I might have been a bit happier. Dropping 3 flexes was maybe a bit too much. Thank you for everyone's input and suggestions.
  3. Today was the trial run for me and the Grafalloy Pro Launch 45 L. I have a Foresight Quad and used it on the range as well as when I played today. I only hit 10 balls on the range and was pretty discouraged. I was very long 5 years ago before shoulder replacement and of course AGE. I am 70 now .... I drive it like a 20 handicap and the short game of a +5. My swing speed was 85 mph at the start. Flight is very high with 8 degree Titleist TSI4 driver. Spin was 2100, launch 20 and angle of attach +7.6. All that being said, the last hole had my best drive with 90.1 mph and 218 carry. That is 10 yards more than my Ventus Velocore S60. The swing weight was D1.5 and I cut a quarter inch off and now it is right on D0. My stock driver is C 6.5 at 44.5. I lengthened my current driver to 45.25 to get the swing weight closer. With all that ... I believe the more flexible shaft is a real benefit to me because of a too fast tempo and not setting the club at the top. It was creeping into my irons too ... everything was working I believe because you have to wait on the shaft. I will be playing the next 15 days or so with some tournaments and I hope to see continued improvement. Good luck to everyone on this trek.
  4. I just received the GPL 40 - L this evening. I have a Foresight Quad and will get numbers for the Ventus / Velocore 60 S and the Otto Plex. Very anxious to see the results. It is going into a Titleist TSI4 9 degree.
  5. azstu324, thank you for starting this thread. I received an email on it and it has me captivated. I ordered the Grafaloy Prolaunch Blue in A flex at 45g last night and Shaft Tech in Jacksonville called me to ask about the shaft. They were confused seeing a Titleist TSI4 going on a ladies' shaft. I mentioned it was a science experiment based on the Autoflex. He said they used to sell them but stopped with the price and low volume. He is very interested in hearing the results and the shaft should be here next week. I had shoulder replacement 5 years ago and lost about 90 yards in length. Bad habits came along and 2 golf instructors later, I am on my own and showing promise. I run the SWSGA in Arizona with ex tour players and better amateurs and am by far the shortest hitter. The short game has become very good by necessity. I remember the very first graphite shafts that came out from Shakespeare and Aldila .... the feel I am expecting from this experiment would match the True Temper Black Gold graphite shaft from 30 years ago. Extremely long ... the ball seemed to stick to the face and then just explode. At 70, I still am looking for that feeling. Hitting it 210 and playing from 6800 yards makes for lots of Wood Wood Wedge golf. I am not moving up and seeing this thread has me excited beyond belief. If I had not been playing today when I got the call from Shaft Tech, I would have had them make a 3 wood shaft for me for the TSI3 3 wood. I currently play the Ventus Blue Velecore with 60S. This will be interesting.
