  1. Dunlop=Srixon...change my mind. Dunlop, the tire company got bought up by Goodyear and Sumitomo rubber. The golf patents all went to Sumitomo in the sale, and they are the parent manufacturer of Srixon/Cleveland. I'll add SeeMore putters, PowerBilt, and Alien (lol)
  2. I'll put another vote in for night golf, that would be a blast to do as a semi-regular thing. I wish there was a local collective that all the courses would sign up to (more than just USGA or something) where all courses would operate more or less under the same rules. This isn't more for course conditions, but for operations one could expect when playing the course. They could train the counter staff, starters, and rangers to actually be efficient and consistent. And all the courses would have the same tee time schedule (every 8-10 min), all refuse walk up play at these same times etc.
  3. Music doesn't bother me as long as it's not too loud. I play with @MattF a lot and he usually has a speaker on his bag, but I can only hear it when I'm walking next to him down the fairway. (which isn't often) If I can hear it across the course it's too loud, but I think this has only happened once. I've tried it but it's not for me. I like to disconnect from technology on the course so, I prefer the natural sounds of the course.
  4. I see no reason I couldn't do May 5th. Sounds like we got our first foursome
  5. 2 kids, full time job, and it's at least a 25 min drive to the closest range.
  6. Short game, I can get up and down from anywhere.
  7. Same, I've been trying to get down there for years and need an excuse.
  8. Hi all, there's plenty of us in Ohio and some new members so I wanted to create a new thread for this season to keep everyone in the loop on where the action is. I'll tag those of you I know are active, but please feel free to add anyone you're thinking of. @MattF @MaxEntropy @Mr_Theoo @tony@CIC @Bohnson @tobybtlr @snoopy79 @Rhys @brutal brutus @GolfSpy_BEN @Siamese Moose With that out of the way, who wants to meet at Deer Ridge near Mansfield sometime in May?
  9. Hi all, I talked to the mods and I'm going to start a new thread for 2024 meetups. Get some new eyes on this.
  10. Where in Ohio do you play out of? I'm Cleveland west, and there's a few Akron/Canton guys, and we'll meet up with a few Columbus guys. If you're in any of those areas, let me know and I'll be sure to include you when we plan meet ups.
  11. Temu is pretty janky knock off stuff. This would be incredibly surprising if the USGA even knows about the existence of this ball, let alone being conforming.
  12. SeeMore Putters. They had a surge years ago, but they are still around. I put one in the bag two years ago and I don't know if it's ever coming out.
  13. This is correct, but it's nothing new. Same stuff that's been said for 100 years.
  14. For public golf I don't think it really matters. My biggest concern is the people who just hear they need cleats/spikes to play and show up in baseball or football cleats...yes this happens. I don't care about t-shirts, tanks, short shorts, tennis shoes whatever. Like I've said before, and others have mentioned, just get done in 4-4 1/2 hours and don't trash the course.
