A big 'depends' - But I find most who are north of a 5 index struggle with consistent shots out of greenside bunkers. I would hazard that for most, 8/10 are mediocre at best without a realistic opportunity at a sand save, I would also argue that for most north of a 10 index your % to get up and down from a green side bunker is probably 1/10... Thoughts??

My league does a ‘3 Club’ night once a year and it’s a ton of fun and surprisingly, many play better (Less mind clutter with less clubs to choose from?)… I typically use 3H, 8i and putter. 3H gives a lot of versatility for longer tee shots, I can do a lot with my 8i surprisingly and the putter, although not obvious, is critical from a scoring perspective. I’ve seen too many ‘victims’ who think they can putt with other clubs and lose their minds on the greens - A playing partner actually had a 5 putt with his 7i and was almost in tears LOL!

Hey Jessie - I’m from Kitchener as well (Lower Doon). Welcome! Cheers, - Ian -
These are beautiful putters and they play very well for my game... I think this custom program is the best around considering the very reasonable price, and I just had to get more! (the examples below are custom weighted, 20g in each port). Although I love the insert, there is talk (and a few pics) of a new Taylormade milled face 'extra' premium putter line called 'Reserve'. I didn't think it was necessary as these 'MyTP's are simply beautiful, but I'll consider the new line once they're official/on the market. Cheers, - Ian

Nobody does a great obit like the New York Times. https://www.nytimes.com/2023/05/07/obituaries/don-january-dead.html?unlocked_article_code=9U_sfFTp0jQsI7EMfB42FVQJ4wTgV4go5eb4mdxozBRtlPMcCS6LwHgMI23PQ0rS40KXtznYJgK2uzfIqSlYuAAgwgYuiJXQ0mitdygF6lKagRp-EH5IOxnCGTszs1Rq4b6YiD0s1UGvrIwy9gcdIixm_ofzMIZZUCB9u7obTs3nen-P1opKT1ifKWyDdjGGoidtAWSfYnuu71XuLa1w-xOP-RuF-p0tx-vk7UmU5vpKdrmOmg1tAbPpv3aC_ChjMx3ccf-ia9G7aT4JdM8jnLrsko6bXK_-PnrtpecysYS4z6Pm8bm4pHrUmhPk21ZPuIlEz4tpRVctg0vvHg&smid=url-share A great life, may he rest in peace! - Ian

PGA CHAMPIONSHIP - ANY TIPS FOR THOSE WHO'VE BEEN TO OAK HILL??
tarrantian replied to tarrantian's topic in Tour Talk
Thank you so much @skywalker90 - Really appreciate the insights. (Kind of surprised I've not received a few other responses at least - Much appreciated once again!) Cheers, - Ian -
As always, the New York Times does it better than most - A great read: https://www.nytimes.com/2023/01/26/sports/golf/anthony-kim-tiger-woods.html?unlocked_article_code=zqtqBdz8Beyg3xv7EN-f2gXju3_DCLLNDxYyaD6y_D9hbWoJj8EpsKrfKZcSUt2lfaCjqWE2WyLlXO6T7uAi8KMfNtXVvhoZtCLXPlEwexcLfwS8QhD8CRnywX-7lwKgINfHg8LX_RZzxacXHHL78_7ACF-qro2EVyDQAXe0BDgDh82YBZT-Jf_mQNs5xbIAhuq_j2AWUT2A3cKesTjrfpRSTadyGkZK2BrHL_oGtl3mcQCep5Ta_se3dDl_nM4WjDpPulC8m6-wms1bcaLMxFIuhQ7lQkdM8xk0S60dperyf9UzK7z9wXL7ruPBJFl5-NsgROttd0qdtvnhkrYMdeakM34v&smid=url-share Cheers, - Ian

We stayed at a home rental via VRBO in Lake Murray, west of Columbia and about an hour from Augusta… In hindsight, the place was awesome but a bit in the middle of nowhere - Kind of shocked at the minimal golf options, but considering the area likely gets tourist activity only once a year somewhat understandable. We had such a great trip and we found courses that fit the bill regardless - Just can’t get over how cold it was on Masters Saturday (we were there on the Thurs when the weather was beautiful)… While the 3rd was being played we were playing a course near Columbia and were unprepared for the Canada late fall-like temps we were playing in LOL. Enjoy!!

I'm a walking 'snob' - For the life of me unless you have physical limitations I can't understand anyone that drives a cart. I'm getting more snobby as time goes on as my mind wanders that the best golfers always walk, and it's the 'hackers' that play less than 10 times a year that cart.... They're always slow, drive the carts where they shouldn't, side-to-side, back and forth, geezus drives me bonkers!! (PS: Once again, fully understand those that have physical limitations and you are excempt from my rant) #bangolfcarts - Ian

Are Golfers Finally Starting to Balk At Driver Prices?
tarrantian replied to Golfspy_CG2's topic in General Q&A
Where are you seeing last year’s at half the price? THAT is one of the biggest issues for me, in that I used to lag a year behind for the very reasons you cite, and indeed the savings on the outgoing model were substantial… I’m finding in the past few years (at least here in Canada) the price drops for older models are no where near 50% - More likely 25-30% max. Even 2 year old models aren’t even hitting the half off mark. Hence, my thinking is why not get the latest version as the savings don’t justify me waiting… It is getting ridiculous however, I just dropped $2K CAN on Saturday for 3 clubs LOL!! -
