  1. Great write up! With work like this you'll be a part of an official test in no time. Wilson makes great equipment, glad Triad is working for you. I have been meaning to try these for ages! Here's the commercial with Manolo. I liked it! Wilson needed to change things, and this made a splash. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=UGMk0Wq2L3k&pp=ygUTV2lsc29uIHRyaWFkIG1hbm9sbw%3D%3D
  2. I found the hybrid last summer for $36. It was used but looked brand new.
  3. @PBH3 I had to do some digging but I found the prices paid, with shipping. Prices were: Cleveland XL 270 HT- $40 (used) Wilson D200 5W - $49 (new) Wilson D200 5-SW - $250 (new) / paid $212 Bobby Grace Putter - $43 (new) Ogio Cart Bag - $80 (new) / paid $68 We threw in some golf balls and towel, headcover, but all in we came in below $500. It took some serious shopping but we were able to piece all of this together.
  4. For your question: I would venture to say that Wilson has a good starter set around that price point; but to go a different and more premium route for a similar price, see below. We did the same thing for my mom when she turned 70 a few years ago. But I wanted to stay away from a starter set; one because I am a club hoe and I love shopping for golf clubs. Also, I wanted it to be special for my mom. She is a cornerstone in my family and has always gone the extra mile for us. Plus the last time she played golf (decades ago) she had a packed golf set. I wanted her to have something more. Now, we did some serious shopping to find good deals (new and used) and ended up coming out right around $500. New (old stock) Wilson Staff D200 irons 5-SW, used Cleveland driver, like-new Wilson Staff D200 5 wood, Bobby Grace putter, and Ogio cart bag. All ultralight graphite shafts. Club prices have increased since then, but it is still doable. Added a new old stock (miracle) Wilson Staff D200 6 hybrid last summer, one of the best clubs in her bag now. The clubs that actually get used primarily are 5W, 6 hybrid (added last summer), 8 iron-SW, Putter. 5W and 6 hybrid are used overwhelmingly more than other clubs. Personally, if I were to do it over again I would make some changes. Fore-go the driver, it was a waste of money. Ditch the 5-7 iron; switch 5W for a 7W. Iron set up would be 6 or 7 hybrid, 8-PW, SW, chipper, putter. Why would I do it this way? Simplicity, club gapping, and good shot success. My mom doesn't have the clubhead speed for a driver, 3W or really even 5W, nor does she have the gapping for anything more than her hybrid and 8 iron. She's sitting at or around 150 off the tee. From there the 6 hybrid goes close to the same distance. She favors which ever is working on the day. Then 8 iron-PW really work from 110-down. GW/SW mostly used to get out of bunkers and within 50 yards. I wish I would have gotten her a chipper. That is by far the weakest part of her game and chipping causes a lot of frustration. She's a good putter so there's that. This is way more than you asked for, but feel free to ask any questions that you would like.
  5. No party like a lefty party. Has to be my Dynapwr Carbon. Driver has long been a weakness and I continue to be amazed by the performance of this club. Has earned a spot on my Mt. Rushmore of drivers.
