Another big win for the mods. Is this the greatest year for testing opportunities on MGS or what?

So hard to choose which I would want to test. I went through the checklist and it really didn't narrow it down much; so the virtual fitting would be a key. I typically play blade putters so that would be my first choice but I want to make a mallet work. Instead of one model I'll show you what I like:
The more I read the sacks parente site, the more interesting these putters become.

The C and H is hosel placement: center and heel. The M and L is mid mallet and large mallet. https://sacksparente.com/mallets
Toe Hang is a putter fitting myth. 🙂

Best of luck to those that apply, and looking forward to the comments and reviews of these.
As the season is drawing to a close here in the midwest, hopefully those chosen as testers can really put these through the full gamut of real world testing.

I
I'm a mallet guy - this one looks intriguing to me - lots of great choices. Thanks Sacks Parente and MGS for the opportunity. Living in Florida we are just entering into our season where our greens are fast, firm and smooth. All the aeration is over and done with here.

Good luck to all you righties. Will be great to see your findings with the wedges and if Edison can win you over.

I have had the T350's in play for about a month, I've posted some thoughts on them in different threads here, probably in the thread that first announced them., But I'll chime in my thoughts during the testing thread as well. For the Forum tests we really try to pick testers that are suited to what the model calls for, even though we realize handicaps are not the be all end all of a player's ability. We aren't likely to choose a + handicap for the T350's just like we aren't likely to choose a 36 handicap for the T100. Despite how many times they say "Iron play is my strength, I'm just a really bad putter" LOL

I mean we lay out what we want and look for in testers and it doesn't take that much to earn a testing opportunity.
Bribes no, sorry. I'd also much prefer participation and engagement from members (not only in testers Wanted threads for all the others reading this) than any bribe!

I have clicked on this link half a dozen times in the past two days and I still can't believe it is real. MGS mods, Titleist/Acushnet you guys have wayyyyy outdone yourselves this time--thank you guys for an incredible opportunity. My iron game is by far the better part of my game so I've applied for T200 for the test. But since below is a dream set I can dream about carrying players clubs 😜. Thanks again guys, it's fun dreaming about awesome clubs every once in a while.
Edit: U-505 DI listed in the bottom of the dream set.

As @Golfspy_CG2 mentioned some pages ago we will work with the selected testers and Titleist to ensure all testers are fit or find a close fitting center. This part is no included for free.
As with all larger tests in order for it to be properly done and given the best experience we hope that all testers choose to go this route. Cobra was the same, Callaway and several others.
Given a member is receiving $1600 ish set of irons. Paying $150 or so to be fit properly seems like a fair deal.

My current T100/200 split set is working well, so here's the new dream:
Tweaks compared to old would be a pinch lighter shaft, cut a pinch more off the t200, replace the T100 with t150 so the set gaps are good. (They're fine now but my t100 are bent 1° strong, so that tiny sole now has 1° less bounce 😱😱)
And here's the utility/driving iron dream:
Ps, I also will have my own practice bay come September and likely a Bushnell Launch Pro for testing. For now I have access to these if I sign up. 🙂
Good luck everyone! As always, another amazing test opportunity. 🔥🔥🔥🔥

If the new T350’s are better than the T300’s I don’t know how they can do it. I have gamed the T300’s for a year now and really like the ball striking feel and the smaller dispersion, using a Fubuki MV Senior shaft.

The last Titleist test in 2021 got 15,449. I gotta think that would be the current record holder. This year the LAB putters got over 12000, so this Titleist test is on its way to joining some lofty company.

You are correct on the 2023 test being the most. We had a different snd slightly process for signing up then, so it may not quite get to that one. But it’s not done yet.

JohnSmalls reacted to Ben Joest in 2023 MGS Forum Test: Titleist T Series Irons
From what I’ve been reading about the Titleist fitting process, there is an emphasis placed on keeping 5 mph ball speed separation between clubs e.g. PW 100mph, 9i 105mph, etc.
That got me curious about my current gamers, so I hit some balls into the net and used the MLM to keep track of the results. Turns out maintaining a 5mph increase over the club just below it also maintains a good yardage gap.
All of this is a long winded way of saying I am curious which blend of irons would allow for the easiest maintenance of the 5 mph separation. 🤔 Perhaps T150 PW-8i, T200 7i-5i, T350 4i 🤔

There is. But Titleist R&D has sworn me to secrecy 😂😂
-
JohnSmalls reacted to Golfspy_CG2 in 2023 MGS Forum Test: Titleist T Series Irons
Yep. A 5 mph ball speed difference should yield between 10 to 15 yards difference. So pretty much an ideal gap.
As to the best split sets. I don’t have the chart with lofts for each model in front of me, however I have studied it up and down. And they really did a good job with these lofts. There is almost any split you csn make between one model and the next in line thst won’t be a good gap. Some case of may be a 4 or 5 degree gap which is fine. I think there may have been one case of a 5.5 or 6 degree. Maybe going from a 350 6 iron to 200 7 ? But it could be addressed with bending either one 1 degree. Or if a player is playing a 350, he might not really notice that 1 degree difference. And I’m a 350 player so I’m not knocking anyone.

My heart would like to believe that I’m T100 4-PW. However, age and experience have taught me that I am not. We’ve talked about it in other threads, but I really believe one has to go into this fitting without ego or expectation and let the fitter and the numbers do the talking.

Pretty impressive.
The work has started for the forum staff. Still time to get registrations in and we will be very excited to announce our 4 testers Tuesdays after registration closes and we have selected our group!
