  2. That has to be a cheap package, probably 20 bucks, but for sure no more than 30.
  3. I meant nothing by it Rob, and I did pick up on the sarcasm with your comment. I think my very first combine was 36.7 and to me is more realistic of what to expect with my game. Of all of the modes of the unit, the combines were by far my favorite ones, and the ones that yield the best feedback to my game. I manually select my club and distances so I could make up whatever number and club combination I wanted to practice, specially to ensure that I could work on my weak distances. The good think is that I played last Saturday and had a few similar in between clubs distances, whereas I was able to replicate the efforts from the combine sessions and have very decent results.
  4. Good question, but I do not think a bad score is a fault of the unit. With my game, I mostly scored on the 40s, the first couple of times the mid 30s, so to me above 50 would have been a good score. Now that might have been because I chose different targets and clubs than what I was comfortable with, the only constant was the driver, but I wanted to make sure that when I was hitting those practice shots, I was looking for the type of shots I struggled to hit consistently on the course, the ones that would scare me a bit. I would pick something in between clubs like PW to 105 yards, where that wedge should be more like 110, or a 7 iron to 135 where a normal conditions 7i would have been 140 yards. Rapsodo keeps an online monthly combine competition and all top scores were over 80.
  5. The way to to it is to show the sole of the club to the camera, so it detects what club you are hitting, honestly as I kept my phone right in front of me I would just change the club manually.
  6. I got a template from ebay and I marked a bunch of balls with it, it worked just fine, the readings were very close to the RTP balls on the net. It takes a little elbow grease to mark up the balls, but it is worth, not having to spend 70 bucks per dozen and actually using the balls I play with all of the time. Also it allowed me to take the unit to the course and use with my game balls.
  7. I'm kidding this year was already great, I can't wait to see what 2024 will bring us.
  8. I can use that and neutralize my self to forget how to slice the ball
  9. Good morning Friends, I hope everyone is having a great day and week. Got a tee time for Saturday morning the weather is calling for a low 40s tee time, the season is slipping away from us.
  10. Good point, this season I did noticed that there is a lot less of the Marshal than on prior years. Most of my rounds I would see him at a distance driving around.
  11. Another great summary Jamie, this should be a great read to all who want to become testers, thank you for summarizing it.
  12. Hello there friends, good morning, the leaves are turning more and more, winter is definitely coming, some of the courses around me are already closing for the season. I really need to move somewhere I can golf year around. Two quick clips this morning just as a reminder of how much I love this game.
  13. The markings are not necessary for the device to pick up your balls, however the dots are designed to pick up spin rate and spin axis, my reasoning to use it is to be able to see how the spin rate is affecting my shots on the course, and being that I have a lot of golf balls on my bag, and trunk of my car, it is easier to just mark the balls rather than buy a bunch of the RTP balls. I have used bot marked and unmarked balls on the course and they device reads them just fine.
  14. Hello Friends, good morning, and I hope everyone is having a great week. I am going to print this picture and carry on my wallet to give it to my doctor every time he tells me that I should lose some weight.
  15. Hello Friends, Good morning. I hope everyone is having a great week so far.
  16. Him making the putt, I rather win, but if I'm to lose it would be better to lose to someone else's skill than my mess up.
  17. Hello there Friends, good morning and happy Friday 13th. I hope everyone have had a great week so far, and will have a great weekend.
  18. That is awesome, congrats on the engagement anniversary. And some people think that Friday the 13th is unlucky.
  19. Adding a couple of new areas to the review Aesthetics (9 out of 10) This device is an absolute beauty! Its sleek design is a real eye-catcher, and it's got me hooked from the moment I laid eyes on it. The aesthetics are spot-on; I can't help but appreciate the sheer elegance of this gadget. But, hold on, there's a small hiccup – those legs. They seem a tad flimsy, and I'm the kind of person who tends to be a bit rough with things, not on purpose, mind you. I'd much prefer legs that exude robustness and steadiness, just to put my clumsy worries at ease. The size of this device is perfect – it's compact enough to carry around with ease, making it a breeze to take to the range or on the course. And the carrying case? It's solid, and I can't help but feel that it's the guardian angel for this unit during transportation. I mean, I'm a little clumsy, and accidents happen. Dropping it? No problem. With this case, I've got full confidence that the unit will come out unscathed, ready for action. Now, sure, there might not be any custom options for this unit, but who needs 'em? This gadget is purpose-built for training, and it doesn't need any bedazzling. It's all about getting the job done, and this device is up to the task. Speaking of durability, I have faith that this unit is here to stay for a good long while. Well, as long as I don't have any clumsy incidents with those legs. I can easily picture this becoming my go-to gadget for range sessions in the upcoming seasons, as long as it continues to be supported by Rapsodo. It's the game-changer I've been waiting for. The Numbers (20 out of 20) It's essential to be transparent, so let me address a few observations. I did notice some variations in the data between different types of golf balls, such as range balls, RPT balls, and regular golf balls, including those with the RPT pattern. The RPT balls seemed to provide more consistent feedback, even on mishits, while occasionally, range balls yielded slightly different yardage and shot shapes after a mishit. This unit's precision is commendable, as I've mentioned previously. After a few rounds on the range, I took it to the course, and I was genuinely pleased. The unit's responses regarding shot direction and distance proved accurate, making it easy to locate my ball. The distances measured were spot-on with what I've tracked over time. However, on rare occasions at the range, there were outlier distances. I suspect this might be due to my own setup or human error rather than the unit itself. The abundance of data available for analyzing your range sessions is impressive. It's an invaluable tool for those with strong control over their golf game, but even amateurs like myself can benefit from this data. I've been particularly attentive to my driver, using feedback on launch angle to ensure a consistent ascending strike. I've realized that near-neutral or negative angles were costing me distance off the tee. During range sessions, I practiced various shots and distances, and the unit consistently captured the results. For instance, in simulations, I had to hit 40- or 25-yard shots with half swings, and the unit performed admirably. Setting up this unit is remarkably straightforward, as mentioned earlier. It typically takes less than a minute to get it up and running. The sturdy USB-C cable doesn't require any special charging brick; a standard iPhone charger does the job. After a few hours of initial charging, subsequent charges only take a couple of hours. I've also noticed the unit's impressive battery life. After an hour and a half on the range, I still had about 70% battery life remaining. I encountered no issues during the setup process, so there was no need to seek online assistance or contact customer service. However, I did encounter a minor hiccup with the code for the e6 courses, as the email generated post-unit registration was blank. I reached out to Rapsodo, and their response was prompt. They provided a new code and assured me they were addressing the issue with e6. Their response time was excellent, even when I emailed them on a Saturday evening; I received a response first thing Monday morning. I'd rate their customer support a solid 10/10. Out of the 13 available metrics, I believe each of them has its importance for my game. However, the most crucial metrics for me are clubhead speed, total carry, and launch angle, as they collectively contribute to improving my tee-off game. I've used the shot type metric less frequently, as my primary focus is on maintaining straight shots for now. Another aspect I appreciate about this unit is the session insights it provides, allowing you to review your accuracy, distance, and consistency for each club used. Trust me, this unit is a valuable addition to any golfer's toolkit.
  20. We got way too many sharp and blunt things around the house for me to even try to mess around this weekend.
  21. Hello Friends, Good morning, I hope that everyone is having a great week. A couple special days today and tomorrow here are home. Today is our 10th wedding anniversary. And tomorrow has been 17 years since my wife and I met, coincidentally it was a Friday 13th back then too. I guess no golf this weekend.
  22. Hello Friends, Good morning. I hope everyone is having a wonderful week so far.
  23. Hello Friends, good morning, I hope everyone have a great Tuesday.
