  1. Maybe this isn't the place for this thread but I have two mildly related questions. I picked up an EVNROLL several months ago, and it's clear to me it's far better for me than my old Scotty Cameron Select Silver Mist Newport 2.5. As many of you likely know, for a while Scotty's were using a sticker/decal for the red cherry bombs rather than paint, and eventually all 3 of mine fell out. (No, I didn't store it in the trunk.) I did what I think is a pretty good job of a paint fill, but I used a gloss black...at the time I figured it was my gamer for life, and I wanted something that looked a little different. With the EVNROLL having kicked the Scotty out of my bag, I'm suddenly inclined to sell off the Scotty, but to do that I feel like I'd need to return the dots to the traditional red, so does anyone know a code or specific Testor's color that's a dead match? Second, should I do that, or just attempt to sell it as is? I'm confident I'd do a good job on the paint fill, but part of me wonders if that's a little unethical of me to simply paint it with Testors to look like "stock" condition. Thoughts?
  2. Yeah, definitely hit or miss. As @cksurfdudealluded to, the trick and challenge with them is finding the right coach among the staff. I've had a great experience at GolfTec, but I did my research on their site...among all of their bios, some looked okay, but one guy was the Nebraska PGA Teacher of the Year five times. Kind of an easy decision. Even having the credentials didn't mean I would gel with the guy, but I got lucky and I did. And he's only broken out one training aid, a Tour Striker Smart Ball.
  3. Nice buy. Why averse to black though? I'm strongly leaning towards black SM8's in my next wedge. I have satin finish right now and at the right/wrong time of day I get a hellacious glare off the clubface when I lay it open...I'm thinking black would negate that.
  4. Sorry, just saw this. No, I definitely haven't! Do you have a means to return them, or gripe to UA?
  5. ASD 1 SuperSpeed this morning, then a solid A3 workout: Dumbbell Press - 85s, reps at 10, 2, 1, 1 Machine Shoulder Press - 130, reps at 11, 3, 1 Machine Dips - 250, reps at 14, 5, 2, 2 Machine Pulldowns - 170, reps at 11, 3, 1, 1 Wide-Grip Cable Rows - 170, reps at 8, 3, 3 A lot of machines I know, but I consider this workout a bit of a joint saver, and I'm working plenty hard regardless trust me. If the forecast is to be believed I may have a couple rounds coming up next week, and then maybe some simulator time to get some numbers to measure.
  6. If this list is rank-ordered in order of importance then I'm upset at being 13th... Jokes aside, appreciate all the tagging and teamwork going on here. Haven't won anything (yet) but it's still good to see fellow spies win.
  7. Agree completely, I guess I'm making the point that not chasing the club with his eyes should not be confused with prioritizing a rigid/fixed head position. Emphasizing that would likely limit his turn, as you've highlighted.
  8. Following the club or anything other than the ball during the golf swing is of course not a good idea. Be careful about consciously restricting head movement though...it's okay and even good to allow your head to turn (turn, not sway). Watch DJ swing, or even Nicklaus who often turned his head to start the swing. Allows for a greater overall turn of the body and a wider backswing.
  9. I know you're not one to shy away from spending some cash on golf but I still feel bad about recommending a golf gadget, but a Planemate is great for this, specifically Day 1 relative to the takeaway. Watch this video and they prescribe some checkpoints for the takeaway that might be helpful, even if you don't want to purchase the training aid... PlaneMate - Tour Striker
  10. Yup, back in week 10 if memory serves...
  11. Alright, will do, thanks for the link. I had one in hand at Golf Galaxy last week though...perhaps my memory of the Adams stick is not as clear as I thought. I'm tracking the chrome being different but overall shape struck me as pretty close. Thanks again for your time and feedback.
  12. That's interesting that you'd say that. The TM version you're gaming now is that aesthetically different from the Adams club?
  13. Thanks for that. Overall, any other feedback on what I'm doing? Plan has always been a size/strength focus into January, then transition to an emphasis on power and explosiveness.
  14. Thanks for the feedback! I saw your classified...not sure I'm in a position to right now with HQ if you know what I mean...
  15. Hey @chisag, I did just pick up 2 TS3 hybrids, but I'm still thinking about that TaylorMade 19 degree DHY I see in your profile signature. What made you go with that club? I have fond memories of my old Adams DHY...very handy for punch-outs and the occasional greenside work as well. I'm really tempted to pick one up even if just to tinker. Interested in your thoughts/review on it. Thanks!
  16. Good Lord. And do I see more than one of the same putter several times over? Different lengths at least?
  17. Lamkin loyalist? I used to game UTX Wraps for a couple seasons, but they discontinued them and the UTX just isn't the same. Made the switch to Golf Pride MCCs, and now Z Grip on a few clubs, and love them.
  18. Both good sticks, but I can tell you the TS3 is great and the price came down to $230 a few months ago.
  19. Happy to get back on the horse today! SuperSpeed Level 3, then a B2 workout. Preacher Curls - 105, reps at 13, 4, 3, 2 Reverse Grip EZ Curls - 85, reps at 14, 5, 4, 2 Box Jumps - 3 x 6 Med Ball Throws - 3 x 6 (10 pound ball) Seated Calf Raise - 100, 12 reps Lying Leg Curl - 130, reps at 11, 4, 3, 1 Squats - 275 for straight set of 12 reps, 185 for a 20 rep widowmaker Next time I get to this workout it's going to be time to go to a 315 squat, which I'm not looking forward to. Maybe I'll lose my man card for saying this, but squats are intimidating/borderline scary for me, just because really pushing yourself with a heavy enough load, and then taking the rep to the proper depth just feels kinda vulnerable and maybe even dangerous. More of a mental thing for me I'm sure.
  20. I'd be very interested in how that info trends as you continue down this road. Forgive me if I'm asking something you've already addressed, but are you adding workouts as a part of this? I'm just wondering how much you'll be able to attribute to this dietary change if you're also adding some aerobic work, etc.
  21. Stepped on the scale at 193 this morning. I’m the only guy I know who can stop counting calories, skip a workout, go apeshit on Thanksgiving Day, and freakin’ lose weight...
  22. I’ve done all my Black Friday shopping buying gift cards at local courses...buy $100 gift card, get a free round, that sort of thing. I’m now sitting on $600 worth of golf at some of my area favorites for $400 spent.
  23. Realized this morning that I maybe haven't pushed myself as hard as I could have on some of the leg exercises in particular...kind of a common problem since it can take some guts to go for one more given the vulnerable-feeling positions you can find yourself in. More on that in a minute... This morning was SuperSpeed ASD 1, then... Barbell Curls - 100, reps at 13, 4, 3, 2 Hammer Curls - 55s, reps at 8, 3, 1, 1 Box Jumps - 3 sets of 5 Leg Press Calves - 200, 12 reps Singe-Leg Deadlifts - 50s, 2 sets of 10 Leg Press - 600 for a straight set of 12, 450 for a 20-rep widowmaker So I just kind of resolved that I should be putting more effort into the leg work and maybe wasn't pushing myself hard enough, so this represents a 150 pound jump from the last time out. I'm actually kind of disappointed at the wasted reps of previous workouts. Now comes a decision, do I take a day off on Friday given the holiday, or stick to it, cuz somewhere out there someone else is training and if I don't then they're getting better than me!
  24. Picked up a garage fridge for $50 the other day. Works great but the handle was broken/gone. Problem solved. Don't worry, it's a Tour Soft. No Pro V's were harmed in the making of this handle.
