  1. My perspective on golf and playing has changed alot because of Covid 19. I was so worried courses wouldn't open this summer. I've only played two rounds so far, since courses opened up in my area. But, man.. I just appreciate being on the course and having a few brew with my buddies, score was the last thing on my mind. With that, the last two rounds I have scored better than I ever have! Mind set plays such a huge role.

  2. I just tend miss the sweet spot more than required for these. Typically my miss is more toward the  heel side.

Ah, I see. My miss with the irons has been heelside lately. I've been working hard on it this month, and seeing alot of improvement. I actually changed my grip from interlock to vardon, and it seems to put my trail hand in a stronger postion. Actually have been hitting middle or slightly toe way more often!

  3. I’ve always wanted to hit those, but anywhere I’ve been fitted didn’t have them. Ugh.
I know the feeling... I bought them basically off the reviews of My Golf Spy and other reviewers sight unseen out of Ireland. My local golf pro set me up with fitting the shaft, length, and lie. Just love the head's so much. They look perfect at address!

  4. Hello, I have a Ventus Blue 7 in my Ping G410 Plus Driver. I also play a Ping G410 5 wood lofted down to 16.5 degrees. I want to pair a Ventus Blue with my fairway. But saw that a Ventus Red 90 gram shaft is available! I do want a high ball flight, and just wonder how much higher would the red be compared to the blue? Also would the spin be alot higher in red?

  5. Can't wait to hear about you rolling one putts only!
Unfortunately, all I can do is indoor golf and putt on a mat for a few month's.... played Colorado Golf Club today! Putting not great, but had fun ripping the new driver. Hole 17 kicked my butt! Green was so sloped...20191210_094756.jpg20191210_094818.jpg

  6. Holy smokes. Did you get that off the hive recently or have that custom made? Either way, let me know if it doesn't work for you. I've got two kidneys and more than willing to sell one for a Betti like that

Haha! Yeah I bit the bullet and got it off the Hive. It's pretty special, think I'll hold on to this one!

  7. I know lots of weekend hackers that control a slice to come back to the fairway.
Theres not a pro I know of that consider 15+ yards of movement either direction a fade or draw. They prefer 3-5 at the most.
But like with all things golf there’s lots of ways to skin the cat and play this game at an enjoyable level
Have you seen the Protracer curvature values on some of the pros shots!? Most play alot more curve than 3 to 5 yards..

  8. I really wanted to get better with my short game and ended up buying a book called "Your short game Solution" it was written by James Sieckmann. I would highly suggest that book. It takes some commitment but in my opinion it is a tour level routine. I never made a book/journal like it suggest but I did go out while I was hitting it really well and made myself a yardage book and noted my carry distances for 1/4 swings, 1/2 swings and 3/4 swings with LW, SW, GW, PW and 9-iron. Now I have that book to fall back on when I haven't practiced in a while. If I'm playing regularly I hit more off feel. If i'm not confident in a shot I default to my "known" yardages.
That book has made a phenomenal difference for me. The techniques and swing thoughts are great.
I also recommend this book! Changed my game for the better.

  9. You really need to find a pro that can communicate with you, and stick with him. I've had some bad lessons, until I found someone I clicked with.

As for time frame of getting better. I've been golfing for 10 year's avidly. I tried doing it on my own and engrained some bad habits that I had to work out of my swing. It has been a long process for me. Started out hitting high, spinny slices. Worked hard and learned to hit hook/draw. Now currently learning how to lessen the curvature of my hook into a nice draw. I've found that learning how to play and struggle with both an extreme left miss as well as a right miss has taught me how to neutralize my swing, producing playable golf shots.

If you don't have raw talent, and a natural swing, golf will take alot of time and dedication. But I can't think of anything better to do with my time, except flyfish.
