I think I've known about this one for 6 weeks... it has not been easy.

PXG came together only a week or so prior so that was a heck of a lot easier.

Jamie…you guys have been able to put together the best run of testing opportunities I’ve ever seen.

Cheers to the entire staff for the relationships you’ve built during your time.

The credibility that the forum and MGS brand has earned is making for very exciting times.  Good work 🙂

  2. This is great to see.  I won’t be applying however will love to see the feedback from members through this test.  There are not a lot of great options for kids clubs and I am really happy to see a test focused on Juniors!

Honestly, considering that LAB really doesn't DO fittings other than online, and that the recommend their customers go through that process (all testers for the last two iterations of this test have done so as well), I'm willing to believe in their video-fit system.  I can totally understand your hesitation, but as the video fitting is PART of the testing (does it actually work for YOU), I'd say it's all fair game when it comes to the testers.  🙂

@ILMgolfnut I would 100% say trust the online fitting process. It may not offer much confidence and as you’d imagine, the last two LA.B. Tests covered this topic extensively, it is legit.

Spending $500 on a putter that relies upon a fitting to work in its optimal form may give you pause but as someone who has experienced the process, I can say confidently that it works.  I’ve had zero reservation on my results.

  4. For those who will be selected you’re going to LOVE this putter. L.A.B. Tests are so much fun. Good luck you guys!

Man as a guy who switched into a PING driver five years ago and irons a year ago iam super jealous of the gold putter vault!!!! I want to see it as iam a putter collecting junkie!!! The wedges are fantastic and were enough to make a lifelong Vokey guy swap 3 out of the 4 that I carry

If I took inventory of my club usage since high school over 25 years, it has almost always gone back and forth between Titleist and PING.  I've struggled to find wedges that work for me like the Vokeys and what I am really appreciating in the market right now, is a conscious choice by manufacturers to change their wedges to change the public perception.  A lot of grind options, newer shapes and more than anything, better tools to see what fits you.

Hoping this one works out and if not, I am going to be happy for those who are selected because they look great 🙂

Bummed that I won't be able to join the live Q&A (I have a quarterly meeting with the local school district) but I have a short story to share that may encourage others to join who were on the fence...

In 2005, I was fortunate enough to travel to Phoenix / Scottsdale to become a PING certified fitter.  The experience was incredible and something I haven't forgotten.  We were given a complete tour of the foundry, the gold putter vault, the putting lab and at the end of the tour, sat down with the Solheim family...yeah...full on access.

I have a tremendous amount of respect for the Solheim family and PING not just as a company, but as a brand that is truly committed to making the best products with direct oversight of that process.  I'm not sure what this afternoon's agenda but I have a good feeling that this will be a great opportunity to really connect with some excellent minds.  PING has my full respect as one of the elite innovators.

While official tests run 6 weeks or so (, good chance it's 3 weeks from now that the drivers are in hand... Maybe even a slight bit later) we do hope and well expect anyone using the great to continue updating the post of they are so using the product.

We prefer to take a much longer term approach with testing. Anyone can go to a shop and hit drivers for an hour to give a synopsis.

@ChiefMikeOfficer check out some of the other tests from last year as well. LAB and Titleist iron test threads are still active despite ending months ago.

It may not mean much coming from a regular like me but I love what @GolfSpy_APH is saying here. And not to mention, it’s 37 here in Rochester but the birds are out singing and the geese are still lingering. Ya never know when the weather may turn 😊
