  1. For my money it’s the Snell MTB-Black. Great price, feel and distance. Another plus is the more you buy the price goes down. My first purchase was the MTB Test Pack which consisted of 6 MTB-Black balls and 6 MTB-X balls to compare them where it counts. On the course.

I’m not going to make a huge deal out of this and random thread seems like an opportune spot…

Nearly 5 years and 3,999 posts ago, I discovered a golf forum that would lure me in, reignite a passion for a game I always adored and yes, has also caused me to empty my pockets slightly…😊

Despite some struggles emotionally and mentally in my personal life, I’ve been happy to have a place where I can come, share like-minded stories and learn from many of you.  You folks gave me a reason to rediscover the game I love

So as I hit submit and hit 4,000, it’s my sincere thank you to each of you. Thanks for keeping me engaged and distracted from life’s struggles 😊

Congratulations and well done. Prolific 🙌🏼 I do enjoy your posts. Here’s to the next 4,000. 👍🏼

... I am always a little chagrinned by golfers on golf forums complaining about hype and the marketing of golf clubs. Have you looked at new cars? Washers and dryers? Refrigerators? Audio/video equipment? Even buying stainless steel pots and pans you have to wade through the marketing of 1 ply, 3 ply or 5 ply and what about their bonding layers and or brand reputation makes them so much better. And this is just a stainless steel fry pan you put food in and cook, so really how different could they be? Fwiw, I ended up going with Misen and you can enjoy the "massively overhyped product" in the link below. I will say I am very happy with the purchase but had to compare all the top brands before making a decision. I would add I have always enjoyed Marketing and love reading between the lines before making my own decisions.

... Capitalism promotes building a better mouse trap and hyping the he!! out of it. Did anyone need a Chia Pet? 🤣 As always it is the job of the consumer to research, try/demo and sift through the marketing. I imagine consumers might be a bit disillusioned to visit the TM website and see "We introduced a new driver. Made of Carbon and not Titanium. It tested well but it may or may not perform better than the driver you are playing. Email us for pictures".

This made me think of the movie Crazy People. It starred Dudley Moore as an advertising executive in a mental institution who gets some help from the other patients writing the slogans for his advertising campaigns. Everything the team dreams up is completely true.

When I think of Syracuse and Italian, my brain goes to pastabilites.  Their hot tomato oil was so popular that Wegmans "created" their own version...

Hope the meal was good, definitely was the right choice for this weather.

    It was quite good thanks.

I’ve discovered Wegman’s “creates” a lot of things and I’ve been pleasantly surprised by a number of them. Their take on kimchi is quite good. It’s my go to when my wife makes pork chops and sauerkraut. I forgo the sauerkraut and enjoy my pork chop with the kimchi.

  7. Given the fresh snow and temps dipping into the teens I tried my hand at making fresh pasta and putting together a dish of cacio e pepe. It turned out quite good. I used flour from Italy sourced from the local Italian market.

The only bad thing about your putting fitting is it makes me want to schedule one so I can go play and experiment with graphite putter shafts.

💯😂 Club Champion is an hour and a half from me. It could mean a fitting before the season opens here.

I’m thinking the 8’s will drop to 130ish when the 9s release. That’s my best guess based upon what we’ve seen years past.  I could be wrong.

    Because I’m a monster

I like how every album does not sound the same.  It's been really nice to just fire up on the speaker and let play in the background while around the house.

    How about you?

I’m not sure about the new album yet. I need to listen more as you say it doesn’t sound the same.

I've never been able to get that professional look by hand. It ends up looking fine, but not perfect.

But now that I have a 42" belt sander with a cloth belt, now its much easier to turn down ferrules and looks much better.

Someday, I’m slowly building my repair skills and tools. A vise is next to make  re-gripping easier. I want to get more comfortable with the basics. I can see this becoming an addiction. LOL Shaft puller, loft and lie machine…

I realize this isn't Golf Pride but I've got some of this brands grips on my practice irons and they're great! I'm convinced they use the exact compound mix and possibly even come out of the same factory as the GP's but just have a different name stamped on them. For $45 on Amazon you get everything shown here. It's a hell of a deal.

Plus you can just turn the logo down and nobody would reall know the difference unless they looked really close at the pattern.

    Thanks 👍🏼

Nice work, what method did you use to turn down the ferrules?

Thanks! I used some 220 grit sand paper, I didn’t have an emory cloth, and turned them by hand. Then I wiped them with acetone. I need to get some car wax on them though to give them a nice shine. @McGolf recently posted a great video that covered hand turning ferrules. That was the final push to encourage me to try this little project. Watching Jim build clubs makes it look so easy. My attempt was a bit sloppier. I used a lot more wipes to clean the epoxy overflow. 😂  I’m going to regrip them as soon as I find some Golf Pride Z Grip Patriot grips. They are out of stock everywhere.

  14. I just installed some BBandFCo ferrules on my wedges. I had purchased a Shorty Roulette set earlier this year. This is my first attempt of this sort of club work. From a distance they look pretty darn good. Upon closer inspection one can seen the imperfections 😜. The real test will come when I can hit them again to see if the heads stay on. 😂. But it’s currently 23 degrees and snowing Central New York.

  15. Spoke with my son tonight. He and his girlfriend are coming home for Christmas. We discussed our meals for Christmas Eve and Christmas. Sushi on Christmas Eve and prime rib, garlic mashed potatoes, brussel sprouts and roasted carrots, oh and salad with crab meat on Christmas. And will continue our tradition of a shot of tequila on Christmas morning. 😄

  16. I’m dipping my toes in this area slowly. I’m going to try my hand at putting some new ferrules on my wedges. I purchased some BB and F Co ferrules, a Bernzomatic micro torch, a hosel cleaning brush, epoxy, and centering beads. I forgot the emory cloth so one more trip to Lowe’s.  I have watched and rewatched several @McGolf YouTube videos on pulling iron heads, assembling irons and his video on manually turning ferrules. 🤞🏼

  17. I am late to this party. My wife and I just finished watching Ted Lasso. Just a great series. We can’t wait for season 3 in July. The Christmas episode is a wonderful stand alone episode that will be a part of our Christmas rotation. Big love for the Higgins family.
I continue to rewatch “Still Game” on Netflix. It’s a great series from BBC Scotland. There are 9 seasons available. Worth a look.

Yup, every year Radio City Music Hall Christmas Show.  Our Kids then took the Gkids every year until they got too old for it.

    Great family tradition!

When we lived in Connecticut my wife and I took our son the see the Radio City Music Hall Christmas Show. We loved it. Just thinking about that was over 20 years ago. Where does the time go?
