  1. Looking forward to seeing how much better the G410 is than some one their current equipment. Its great club and in some instances, the guys could benefit from the tech but most importantly getting the right fit with the shaft will make a world of a difference.
  2. What speed classifies as too fast for the SC200? 90+? 100+? Or should it only be used for the steel sticks (iros) and not the boom sticks (driver/3w/5w)? Ive been eyeing one of these for a while and maybe the SC300 but have yet to pull the trigger.
  3. Any Lefty that is also a Taylormade fan will be disappointed to see that the Taylormade Pre-owned website has now been combined with Global Golf website... This means no more extra discounts for lefties! No Bueno. Looks like my brand loyalty is out the door boys (and ladies). Im a free agent to the marketplace!
  4. Skytrak is a sweet system. Didn't realize you could bring it to the range and use outside. I guess if it is battery powered and connects straight to an ipad then good to go! Just a bit pricey....
  5. Finally was able to get out to my local fitter and get fitted for a new BOOM stick! Little did I know that i would be hitting about 100 drives; mix of different heads and shafts to narrow down the perfect combo. Traditionally I am a pretty consistent driver of the ball but put me in-front of a launch monitor and i dont know what to do essentially! Very disappointed how bad i was hitting the ball. Regardless, my fitter was able to decipher the right combos to suit my game. Unfortunatley we did not make a mechanical change to my swing until late in the fitting which would have made the fitting better. We narrowed down to 2 main clubs; Taylormade M6 with Mitsubishi Tensei Red Stiff 60 (maybe 65?) and the Callaway Rogue Subzero with the Mitsubishi Tensei blue 60 stiff. Apparently the Rogue zubzero is a backspin KILLER. Was able to take both out the the range as well as onto the course. On the course i could not consistently hit the Rogue yet it went FAR. I consistently hit the TM M6 but not quite as far. The ultimate tradeoff of course. I went to the range and the wind was blasting me in the face. Any slight fade turned into a big slice. Though I consistently hit the M6 well consistently. I brought the clubs back into the shop this afternoon and hit a few more for comparison sake with my improved swing. (numbers can be seen in the attached picture). Ignore the top 2 drives whether they were with my old driver or bad mishits. The top half was with the M6 and bottom half with Rogue SZ. I had one of the best club fitters in the country tell me that the M6 would be more appealing day in and day out playing. BUT i could crush the Rogue on flush hits. Though it was a bit more difficult to consistently square up the rogue repeatedly; toe and heel shots were not nearly as forgiving. Obviously I'm a 14 hdcp and my numbers show it. I can't hit low 2000's in backspin, 12deg launch and minimal side spin consistently. End of the day it was WELL worth it to get custom fit! It was AMAZING all of the small changes in each shaft and how it correlates with your unique swing. There is NO WAY i would buy a driver off the rack now. TM M6 in the bag!
  6. repeat... this is a VERY GENERAL statement of difference. I looked at each players driving distance for 2018 and 2019 and there was a 5-10yd difference for each. No clue on course conditions, altitude, health, forecast, blah blah.
  7. It was a ROUGH observation... lets not be too critical here.
  8. Im in the process of getting fit for a new driver tmrw. Always preferred TM clubs so will be leaning towards those of course. Seem to have hit them well in demos. More consistently than any other new driver. Right now I avg like 225yds with a TM R1. I hit the M5/M6 abt 245 consistently in the monitor and hit the M3 250-260... Did a lil "research". I looked at the driving performance #'s from Rory, DJ, Tiger, and Rahm; nearly all of them lost 5-10yds distance using the new drivers than last years M3/M4... Accuracy was +/- 5%. Maybe this does not correlate BUT those guys get paid to use the latest equipment BUT does not mean they are the best clubs. Just some food for thought.
  9. I have the Stiff Bi-Matrix shaft in my TM R1 driver and really enjoyed it for the most part. It was tough to get the feel down at first bc it was a bit stiffer and such low trajectory but i adjusted. At the time, the driver shafts i had been using had WAY too much torque and i could feel the heads twisting. This definitely eliminated that. I'm getting fit for a new driver tmrw by a Top 100 fitter so we'll see how he can optimize my game with the right equipment. Excited to see!
  10. I was googling 'homemade golf simulators' and found some setups to give ideas and cost breakouts. Below is one that can help give a good idea the true cost: https://mediocre.com/forum/topics/home-golf-simulator-buildout It looks great but im not too sure about using the Optishot. It is very club focused and not so much on the ball. You dont even need a ball supposedly.
  11. Upper 30's, low 40's ouch. I'm sitting at 71F right now. Gotta be frustrating to not be able to do much when its so cold. Were you able to find the SkyTrak cheaper than $2k anywhere??
  12. fitting and lessons will definitely expedite the time it takes to get better BUT you can improve on your own. Practice will be key in either regard. You'll suck either way if you dont go practice and play consistently. I've had like 2-3 lessons my whole life and should like 90-92 consistently.
  13. hahaha oops! Thanks for the catch. Must have fat fingered it.
  14. if the driver were to give you 10 more yards... how much would it matter? If i know im about to crush it, then the looks do not matter. Getting over the looks at the range will build confidence on the course
  15. I too have the lefty struggle... The TS3 is a great driver though. Definitely great ball speed. a heavier shaft seems to hekp me control Titleist drivers better. Will need to try it out at a demo day soon!
  16. I feel like back in the early 2000's they had some great drivers but then it fell off substantially.
  17. i tried a few rangefinders before buying one. I dont have shaky hands so i did not need the jolt technology. Wasnt worth the extra money. Never had a problem hitting a stick without it.
  18. Being a lefty is a pain.... can't find a F9 anywhere to try out! Not surprised it was rated so well in the Most Wanted test, Cobra has usually put out good products in the past few years. Quite interesting it came in as the most accurate. They had the 'twistface' before anyone else
  19. Not sure if i am really sold on Mizuno. Need to give it a fair try of course. Their irons have always been butter. Its tough keeping up with the big names though.
  20. I personally have a bushnell and love it. Dont need the jolt technology on it or some other widgets but the slope is very helpful. Depends on if you play tourneys which wont allow slope feature
  21. I use the Arccos system and it works pretty good BUT you need the system for your clubs... i think. The Grint is another app i use but not sure if it gives yardages during the round.
  22. Being able to SEE your shots is where it pays off! Not sure of any $500 monitors that let you see the ball flight. I eould love a skytrak. HIGHLY doubtful my wife thinks i need one. Keep us posterd on what you think. Can't wait to see how it looks with the projector. Also, will you change the backdrop ?sheet? Maybe put a white sheet over the top of the current net.
  23. Weight training your swing will no doubt work. Its COMMITTING to training that improves you overall. You do not NEED this device to improve your swing speed but it will help. practice practice practice
