  1. I hit a few shots in the short game area today The range was closed because there was nobody to pick up the balls [emoji849] Hit several 30 -40 yard low checking pitch shots to a back pin placement using Srixon Z Star. It definitely has a different sound than the Cobra I’ve been playing, I’ll try to get some audio later. I hit 10 shots with the Cobra and gathered up the balls and hit 10 with the ZipCore. The ZipCore definitely produces more spin as the ball was checking on the second bounce then rolling out a few feet. When I hit that shot with the Cobra I would get 2 full bounces,
  2. The funny thing is when there are several groups waiting to tee off all watching I usually make a nice slow smooth swing and hit the best drive of the day [emoji849] Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy
  3. That course looks really sweet! Would love a chance to play it one day Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy
  4. Loving what I’m hearing about these irons so far and I LOVE the black finish! If I wasn’t scared that I don’t really have the game for these irons I would order therm tomorrow. Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy
  5. Congrats to the testers...great group! Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy
  6. Well my Thursday got better really quick, there was an early morning ring of the door bell and I find this sitting on the porch! I will be testing a 50* RTX ZipCore wedge with mid bounce. It will be compared to my current gamer, a Cobra King PuR wedge. Here are some comparison photos I took this morning From the back they look similar in shape Face view, the shape is similar but the ZipCore has 18 grooves compared to only 17 on the Cobra and the ZipCore has the toe groves where the Cobra doesn’t. It will be interesting to see if there is a noticeable improvement in toe strikes (not th
  7. I am honored to be chosen to test the new Cleveland RTX ZipCore wedge. The ZipCore wedges were already high on my list of clubs I wanted to try based on some early rumblings I have been hearing from some of the Cleveland reps. I will be testing the 50* Mid bounce model, I chose the 50* wedge because it’s one of the most used clubs in my bag. I’m a Dave Pelz “Short game bible” disciple so I use my wedges with many different swings for different distances and trajectories. Full swing it’s my 100-110 yard club, 3/4 it’s my 80-85 yard club and 1/2 swing produces a low checking 50 yard shot. I h
  8. October 4, 2020 Cleveland RTX Zipcore Wedge – Official MGS Forum Review by TBT Intro First off let me give a tip of the cap to MGS and Cleveland Golf for allowing me the opportunity to put their new wedge to the test. Hi gang it’s TBT (Tim to my friends), I was given the chance to test the new Cleveland RTX Zipcore wedge. For this review I will be playing a 50* Mid Bounce wedge. Okay so a little about me, I am 56 (for another week anyway) and play to a 14.7 handicap which for me means I can go out and shoot a smooth 79 or 80 one day and then throw
  9. Struggling with pull hooks right now, I guess I need to schedule a lesson to see what I’m doing....I can pull hook a damn pitching wedge right now [emoji15] 46-48 for an ugly 94 Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy
  10. Most people I’ve played with consider me to be an above average putter and I have a couple of drills that I do anytime I practice. 1. Is a standard for most pros the “around the world” drill...try to find a fairly flat spot on the practice green and put 4 balls around the hole at 2 feet....make all 4 then put them at 3 feet...make all 4 and move to 4 feet....if you miss any you start over at 2 feet. I go until I make all 4 at 5 feet then I move to drill #2 2. I some colored heavy string and tied 15 feet between 2 pieces of a thin fiberglass rod (driveway marker from Home Depot cut into 15 i
  11. Most sets come with a PW standard so most people buy gap, sand and lob wedges separately. Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy

  14. I chip across the backyard to some chipping nets I have set up at 10-15-20 yards. That helps to “hit your spot” but it sounds like you are looking more for practice on how to control the ball once it hits the green. That’s hard to practice without a good short game area Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy

  16. I’d love to try it for my back and hip pain, but working for a governmental agency I get random tested often and until I’m sure that it won’t cause a false positive it’s not worth it to me. Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy
  17. I looked into the Golf Week Tour here in Houston, seems decent. The same guy has been running it for like 10 years. I’ve thought about joining it Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy
  18. I remember watching the old Haney Project on the Golf Channel, I’m pretty sure he had Rush Limbaugh and Michael Phelps do the 100 swings a day drill. I think he had Rush do them with his Plane Finder teaching aid Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy
  19. I did TrueFit and it came up with a G410 plus for me, I really need to go hit one and see how it works out. My home course usually has demos you can take out on the course but COVID-19 has shut all that down unfortunately Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy
  20. I tried one at a PGA Super Store, it was too “busy” for me Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy
  21. There are also stories of fitters with “juiced” launch monitors. Are you getting more distance on the course than your old set? Did you hit your old set for a baseline before the fitting? I do agree I would get loft, lie and swing weight checked too Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy
  22. Man those got here super fast and they look great! Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy

  25. I have no problem buying used, especially if it’s certified used direct from the OEMs. Since I know my specs it’s easier to shop for used gear..plus good quality gear can always be adjusted to my specs. Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy
