+1 for this. I'm 30 and scrambles are the only time I ride and the push cart is a total back saver. Any time people joke on me, I just tell them that walking a round is the only exercise I get these days (sad but true). Many times I'll be the only player in a foursome walking. Wedges. I need 3. 50, 54, 58. I'm dying to switch up my yardage gaps since I'm always just a few yards short of my gap. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy

Pocket Bunker - Pocket Review
STUDque replied to MGoBlue100's topic in Training Aids, GPS Devices, Apps, Accessories & More!
Try practicing flop shots on tight lies at chipping greens. It makes a big difference in your confidence from the bunker. The tight lie teaches you how to take a shallow divot to get spin on the ball out of the bunker. Then you can push it into deep rough and flop those for practice thumping balls out of the bunker when required. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy -
Pocket Bunker - Pocket Review
STUDque replied to MGoBlue100's topic in Training Aids, GPS Devices, Apps, Accessories & More!
I see this as an at-home type of training aid. I'd have a hard time busting it out on the range but am eager to see if you've experienced success using it. For my bunker play, I found that practicing flop shots out of tight lies and fluffy rough provide really good bunker practice if you don't have a practice bunker at your course. Best Books for Golfers

That was one of my first books too. Throw my name on the pile recommending this. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy -
Isn't that thing more expensive than a regular electric "push" cart anyway? Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy

The push carts require a bit of effort too so I can see how you feel that way. I try to give mine big pushes when I can and just let it roll. On holes where it's a decent walk back to the tee, I'll still ditch my bag and get it on the way through just like I did when I carried. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy

I say mulligans are a good thing for people starting out. When you can get it to one Mulligan per side you're close. Gotta break 100 with mulligans before you can break it without. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy

Total game changer man. I carried my bag for 5 years like a sucker. Boy has my life changed since I got a push cart. I would've been happy with a cheap 2 wheel cart but my wife got me a sweet cliqgear for Father's day a few years ago. It's already paid for itself in cart fees. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy

Got any mods on that bad boy? Hook up speakers or put off-road tires? Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy

Well the mid Atlantic is definitely far from a golf Mecca. It gets cold here too. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy

Yup! All of my local courses are. They actually get cheaper. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy

Cedar Point in Patuxent River, MD It's got some linksy style holes in and around this peninsula. The picture shows the practice chipping green next to the driving range. They've also got a short chipping green and a putting green so the practice facilities are diverse. From time to time they've even got a launch monitor set up inside the restaurant. Keep the faith brother. I shot 90 3 times before I finally broke it. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy

At least they're "trying" to help. I've got friends that almost actively root against me to the point that they call me a d* for hitting a nice shot. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy

Hit my whole shag bag from between 50-75y. Most were at 75y. Used all 3 wedges and hit a variety of flights each. Direction control was pretty decent but I had a hard time getting the distance right. About 3/4 of the balls are long. This thread is a good idea to help document practice. Maybe I'll be able to upload one with a blanket-sized cluster one of these days. I'm with you. It doesn't feel like it counts until you do it on your home course with your bros. One of my regular playing buddies "broke 90" on a different course with a different group than our normal threesome and we call bullseye every time he talks about it. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy

For me, it was the first time breaking 90. My buddies and I always walked twilight rounds because it was much cheaper. It got so dark we could barely see the ball and the back 9 at our course is mostly woods. My buddy lost his ball on 16 due to darkness and packed it in. Since I was making a serious run at breaking 90 (first in my group to do it), I figured I'd keep shooting until I lost my ball. The hardest part was the tee shots. Even though they wound up in the fairway, my buddy and I still had a hard time finding them using our phone flashlights. I played the '09 burner at the time and the only thing you could see was the spark when I hit the ball. No flight and definitely no landing. For all shots, my buddy held the flashlight over the ball so I could at least line up. I played super conservative to keep my ball in the fairway and wound up parring 16, 17, and 18 to end with a cool 87. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy

I'm sure there's some great stories out there of the first time members broke 100, 90, 80, par and I'd love to hear them. In many cases, these are some of the fondest memories a golfer can have. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
