I live in southern maryland and Im a member at hawthrone county club which is a small nine hole course.  I'm not worried about it going crazy.  I've had more interaction on this site in 5 hours than I had on the other golf website

Ah! That’s the one course around me I haven’t played yet. I took off work one day just to play there only to find out the giant “NOW OPEN TO THE PUBLIC” sign was only for the restaurant, not the course. Kind of a bummer.

Glad to have another local spy though, welcome to the forum.

  2. Feeling pretty #blessed that my whole team has been going the first 3 events. Has made decisions pretty easy thus far. Too bad 5 of them missed the cut this week but definitely happy to have Blake play well this week. 🙂

Anybody interested in a mid-tier trade? Guys like Poston, Glover, Harman, or Fitzpatrick come to mind.

I got a pipeline guys playing decent. I am glad I hung with the now big boy Bryson. I am think he could be a horse for the rest of the year.

Yeah! I see you finally declined my trade offer from 2 months back 😆

So he says then posts a score of 339 lol

Kokrak and Im caught some fire on Sunday. No complaining here!!

Shocker of the week, our runaway leader thus far @Rwagn4 finished the tournament in dead last. Wow. He had such a big lead built up, it only dropped his team to 4th place. Must be nice!

  5. In the ever-evolving efforts of the forum, we'd like to hear from you as to how you browse the forum. From here, trying to gauge which content streams people use often for the forum and which can go away. We'll likely have a new one soon that is only photos. Great thing about it? It has every photo posted to every thread....not just Gallery photos. Baby tweaks but we're almost there. Just need to know what to eliminate before doing it.

All 8 players in the field... 3 make the cut... none in contention...Team Fix never missed a beat during the layoff 🙄🤣

Loving seeing both HV3 and Speith battling it out.  Hope this is the pair at the end... a playoff even better.  Rooting for both - just can't pick.

I had 7/8 make the cut but they're all chilling in nearly the same position. Which is decidedly NOT in contention. Middle of the pack baby....High Five! 🤚

  7. Alright baby! Back in business. Just picked up my bike from the shop. Cannondale was nice enough to replace the parts for free and I'm thankful to the shop for fitting me in amongst their insane demand for bike service.

Turns out I've got way too much strength! Partially kidding of course but it turns out the solution was an upgraded crank set with a different type of threading (English vs square). The service rep humored me while I peppered him with curiosity questions trying to learn more about this particular problem. Trial ride around the sample path they have was nice and quiet so I'm looking forward to a full ride ASAP.

My main course is on a Navy base so they are waiting to open in own terms. Do any of you guys have experience riding to the course before a round? I'm curious if it's worth it.

I've been feeling like an absolute slug. Got out for my longest ride to date on Saturday, then haven't had a chance to touch the bike since. Had a socially distanced confirmation get-together down in RI for my nephew on Sunday, then I've had a virtual meeting every single night this week so far. Work has been straight out, so no chances to sneak out for a ride at lunch. Thankfully I've been doing a 20 minute workout every morning before I start working, but other than that, no time on the new bike. I've been itching to get out there!

If it makes you feel better, mine is in the shop 😢 At least you've you the option to ride sitting in your garage. If you're looking to get out for a 20 miler soon, one thing I've found helpful to increase distance is to find a nice midway point you can relax for a snack and break then ride home. Just a thought.

There's an island I really want to ride to when I get my bike back but it's about 45 miles round trip. Kinda nervous about it so we'll see how I'm feeling when the time comes. Could be a good time to bring the drone for an extended stop.

  9. New badge in the catalog. Thanks to @Pinger_MV for the suggestion:

Survivor is for anyone that's overcome a scary sickness in their life. Could be anything, not specific to the big C or otherwise. If you're comfortable, we'd love to hear your stories too.

I really wanted to get my first 20mi ride in today, but ended up at 13. I was nearing a point where I would have had to go way out and then back to make it 20, and I knew I had a series of hills coming back that would have done me in. It ended up being the right decision, but I'm going to keep on pushing!

Definitely better to err on the side of caution. I've accidentally pushed myself too far a few times already thanks to poor route planning. That's the good and bad part of training outside....you can't just jump off and be done.

  11. Just to chime in on the topic, the browser version of the site gives the truest experience. This would either be on a regular desktop or in the mobile/tablet browsers of your choice Safari, Chrome, Firefox, etc and it's my preferred method.

That said, totally understand the desire to have a dedicated app. There's currently 2 ways to access it: standalone MGS app and via Tapatalk. The experience is the same in each since Tapatalk hosts both. Problem is, Tapatalk's software is steadily diverging from our forum host so the functionality continues to dwindle as we get further apart. This manifests itself in various bugs and errors that we can't fix although the apps are still mostly compatible.

Sounds like there's not a solution? There is. Our host, Invision, will be offering mobile app support with the next major system upgrade. This will be great for us all in the way of a native app that will continually be upgraded to keep common language with the forum. It'll take the forum of a multi-forum environment like Tapatalk but specific for Invision-hosted sites.

I'm really looking forward to it but am still cautious that it may take time to get it right. So, we'll be carrying the Tapatalk tie-in until we feel comfortable enough to fully transition.

Oh and I’ll take a Broke 80 too please.  Gotta ask though, does that Badge make only a fleeting appearance, lasting for only a day or two, like my game when I get there, or does it stick around all year?

Ha! That's a super funny take. Sadly, I can relate.

PS. You got the badges 👍

Any chance with the reset that you'll be letting more people join? Would love to be a part of this.

Would love to but I'm sorry we can't. Besides, I don't think you'd appreciate it very much. The season has gone along so far at this point that the player pool would be slim and you'd never climb out of last place. We'll be starting fantasy football soon though and you're welcome to join that.
