  1. I have spent $300.00 on a putter and would pay a little more depending on the feel.   I play with an old Taylormade ROHO II for 15 years and loved the weight, look and feel.  I now have an Odyssey putter for the past 4 years and think it is great. Not only does it look good, but the feel and weight are perfect.   I do not change my putter out very often and now days not too many designs out now I can say I really like.  To me the putter does not take the abuse like such as the driver and irons do so I feel I can use the putter for a much longer period.

  2. As many people have mentioned, slow play and issues with players thinking they are better than they really are.  The other is when a course thinks it is better than it really is and charges a high price to play.  Such as paying full price only to find the greens have been sanded.  I played one course, hit the fairway dead center, plugged the ball.  Talked to the ranger and he says, it is common, give it a month and it will look like mushrooms on the course from all the plugged balls showing up.  I don't mind paying a fair price, but the course conditions better warrant it.

  3. Good but not great, in my opinion would be one that has a good staff when you are greeted, and a clubhouse that is simple yet good food.  For the course, I don't mind one that make you think about not using a driver every hole.  I enjoy the challenges of hazards (not ones that are so hard a little of target and good luck on any recovery) and well-designed greens.  For a good course, there should be value in play and not break the bank.  As for the greens, I expect them to be as consistent as possible from green to green.  I liked a challenge on the greens with slopes and tiers, just not greens that are all slope that makes for a little miss hit the ball to roll off.  Picky I know.

  4. In November I picked up the Mizuno 923 forged irons 4-gap.  I only have 8 rounds on them so far, but will have to say, Wow I love them.  I looked at the Pings, Titleist and Srixon's during a few trips for being fitted.  While I know people will have a tendency gravitate to a specific feel, the Mizuno's are one to look at.

In June I also picked up the Ping G430 max, love it also.

    Have a great golf year.

  5. Ping for my driver and woods.  I had a Ping driver (G400) that the face developed a crack on.  While I had already purchased the G425 I called Ping and asked them about it to see if I had done something wrong.  They told me to take the club to a local Ping Rep and that they would look at it.  4 week later I was given a new Ping G425 driver. What I was impressed with is 2 details.  The club was out of warranty and event thought I was not thinking they would replace it with a new model or even at all, they stood behind their product and said this should never have happened.

for the Irons, I love the Mizuno's.  I will be getting new irons this year, but I am leaning towards the new line of Mizuno irons.

  6. I just played a three hour round for 9 holes of golf.  At times there were three groups stacked up on a tee.  While this was a muni course.  I played at 11:30 am on a Monday.  They do have a seniors league that plays, but there should be no reason to this length of round.  I played with my Step mom who is 83 and even she was upset on how long it took.    The marshals did little to nothing to speed up play.  Some people played from the blue tees just because it was so slow, while they were not bad, they would wait until the people were off the green to hit there second shot, and what did you know, they were not even close to the green.

Rarely will I play on a weekend, unless  it is with good friends because people don't understand that their pace of play needs to be with the group in front, not the people behind them.  While I rarely to post (most people have already stated the same reasons that I think, and why blabber about the same thing) this one does drive me nuts.

Thanks for reading my rant on this
