I love the Olympics, and one of the main reasons is that it's a showcase for amateur sports. Professionals in any sport don't belong there, neither do people who live in one country representing another.

Just curious as how y'all feel about the environmental impact of EVs? Cobalt and lithium mining create as much if not more pollution than petroleum and battery disposal will be a nightmare. I fully understand the need to get away from petro, however are EVs the ultimate answer? Curious to hear the opinions of those more educated on the issue.

Agree completely, Doug. I'd prefer to see an awards show for the best surgeon than anything that pumps up the court jesters. They'll soon be replaced by AI anyway

Frigid day here in the Villages, woke up to 62* temps and it's still a brisk 68 at 1:15! Time to get the woolies out of the attic.

With my current health situation, golf for me is limited to one of the several putting courses we have in the villages. I've found that THC actually enhances my putting.

As the grip is the only connection we have to the club, standarization is key for me. I use Winn oversize grips on all of my woods, irons and wedges, and a Winn mid size grip on the putter.

My current fetish is Miura irons. I have neither the skill or aptitude to hit them as well as I'd like, and always score better when playing more forgiving clubs yet the feel of a well struck iron while rare, is worth the effort.

I'm 76, and expect to feel old at 85. Recently diagnosed with blood cancer (MDS) and was given 18 months, however I'm not accepting it. Still playing executive courses 5 days a week, and work on the putting courses every day.

I started playing Miura irons a few months ago and have grown to love the feel and feedback. I'm a chop with a serious L.O.F.T and no doubt my scores would benefit from more forgiving clubs but there's nothing like the feel of a well struck Miura forging on those rare occasions when I can execute. Also in the bag are Callaway EPIC 5 and 7 woods, a pair of Wishon wedges (48 and 54) topped off by an Odessey stroke lab CS V line putter.

My wife doesn't usually play because of shoulder issues, so when I do get her out she just tees off at the appropriate time from the 100 yd marker. It keeps her involved, no special tee boxes required.

My post was admittedly poorly worded. The scenario I was referring to was the 15 or more seconds it takes each golfer to mark, lift and align each putt. We rarely see one putts, often two and far to often 3. Each one taking a significant amount of time. Marking, cleaning and aligning each of those putts takes a significant amount of time per golfer. I stand my 1 minute per golfer guesstimate, but not the manner that I originally posted it. I appreciate the feedback, play well.

Are you in the Villages? It's the same situation here, on the 9 hole exec. courses.

Perhaps the tees aren't as much of an issue as the greens are. I'd propose that once on the green you get to lift, clean and line up your ball once, and only once. Continue to putt until your in the hole. Saving a guesstamated 15 seconds per golfer per hole would possibly shave an hour and 12 minutes from an 18 hole round per foursome. Thoughts?

I keep the set I play with regularly plus a spare, and a few extra putters. I usually just donate what I don't use.

At least there's no snow in the forecast Rick! LOL

It's currently a brisk 58 in the villages today, had to wear long pants when I played earlier! Hopefully this cold snap will only last a couple of days.

Hi there, hope this is the right place to ask this. I purchased several dozen srixon soft feel balls, and find different markings. Some just had soft feel printed on the side, some had soft feel outlined with black. My google-fu has left the building, and I'm trying to identify the year of manufacture by the markings. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks
