I think “Innovative” is the correct descriptive word for PXG. I never thought I would be a PXG club owner, but with Bill Parsons “Heroes” discounts, I am now the proud owner of a PXG Driver and soon probably more.

I like your list and definitely think PING is on top (no bias here, just don't look at what's in my bag, lol). I'm also thinking of brands that have evolved beyond just clubs and have become a force in culture as well - eg: Titleist hats, all of Puma/Cobra's clothes and accessories, etc...

I have no problem with your preferences, but I wouldn't call any of them "cool", except maybe Cobra. The rest are pretty buttoned up corporate brands to me. The exact opposite of cool.

This is one of the Tilly hats I wear in almost everyday in FL. I love these hats, throw them in the washer shape them up and they’re good to go. I had to cut off my Granddaughters out of the pic per my daughter.IMG_0644.PNG

I recently bought one pretty similar to that. Haven't worn it yet.

I never considered a hat of this style until we moved to FL and SWMBO kinda “suggested” I get one. Sun is on you 11 1/2 months of the year.

I just recently started embracing the wide brim and bucket hats. Typically I wear ball caps, but as mentioned, they really don't protect your ears and neck.

  5. I'm sorry!  I could never live here!  I'm just a small town boy where the rush hour is 4:30pm-5:30pm, instead of 7am-7pm

I guess it’s a matter of perspective. I came to SoCal from NYC in the Navy back in 1983. Took one look at Coronado and said “I could get used to this”. And have been here ever since. But I live in OC and only go to LA when I absolutely have to.

  6. I am completely new to the game and I am trying to get a good complete set of clubs to play. What would be a good set that are not extremely expensive, but would still be good quality for playing three or four times a month? I am trying to keep it under $300 for the set.

Check out Gigagolf.com. You may be able to get a full set within your budget.

  7. So weird. I have some bonus money burning a hole in my pocket. But when I started thinking about what new shiny toys I want I can't think of anything. My bag is practically new top to bottom. And the items that are not new I don't want to replace yet. Besides, I am usually the guy who procrastinates on a purchase and then I pull the trigger about a week before the next model is announced. So I don't want to do that again.

  8. Though I probably wouldn't buy one myself, if given an option to get one for free I'd probably look at the Sim2 based upon all of the hype. Shaft would be either a Project X (not sure which) or UST Mamiya since those are the ones I know and have in my bag already.

I agree. The Warrior stuff I have tried is on par with Walmart store clubs. Anything from the big 3 and little 3 is way better.

I played with a guy once who had a whole bag of Warrior clubs, and a Warrior bag! For his sake I hope he worked for them. 😆

  10. Warrior was and or is scam, can't return and get money back, many have stated that. Sounds to good to be true, it usually is.

I got a “free” 60° wedge from Warrior several years ago that was a piece of crap. I avoided them after that.
