  1. Thanks. I'll try standinf a bit further away first and go from there. I have never recorded my swing so I'm going to do that today!!! Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy

  3. Afternoon from Tampa!!! I am currently battling the shanks with literally everything except my putter. Driver off the heel, fairway wood off the heel, hybrid the same and irons not even going to mention how bad im shanking those. Foind a video on youtube that suggested placing a tee next to tue ball to eliminate the shanks and I have to say it absolutely works!! My question is, is this illegal to do while playing? 4. Rafael Figueroa, Tampa FL 15 HC, (Truly don't know swing speed) Current Driver: TM SLDR (Cut to 44', Stiff, stock shaft) Would like to review the G400 Max. Thanks for the opportunity!
  5. Riverview and Brandon is where about 80% of the military folks that serve at Macdill live, way more affordable homes out there compared to south Tampa. Really growing economy out there. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  6. Didn't win the Cobra clubs so just wanted to say thanks to all & goodbye! J/k. Just wanted to say thanks for the welcome to the forum first. Planning a trip with my brother's in law and its kind of a unique one. Looking to see of anybody has done something like this before. So my brother in law is a pilot and we are planning on flying a small plane that fits 4 somewhere in florida that has outstanding golf courses near a small airport we can fly into. We are looking to camp right on the airport by the airplane since it just adds another way to spend some time hanging out and bbqing and drinking (i'm a sailor so the drinking like a sailor stereotypes are true in my case) and another level of awesomeness to the vacation imo. Just wondering if anybody has done anything similar to this before. Looking at the pensacola or naples area. Thanks. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  7. Cut mine down myself to 44'. Read lots of swing weight and all sorts of other criteria that people try to scare you with. In my case, I fell in love with the decision I made immediately. The only reason why my scores are low 90's high 80's is because of my driver. Started hitting more fairways immediately, as a result of this I did not lose any distance since I have the confidence to swing a little harder. Was telling my boss what I did so he went to Dick's on a Friday afternoon and cut his down to 44.5 for a Sunday round and he said it worked wonders for him. I tried to apply the same thing to my fairway woods and hybrids and it did not work, just better to choke up on those for me. Had to end up getting new shafts because I cut mine down too far lol.
  8. Yea with my type of luck I would schedule a golf trip and it would rain the whole time or something. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  9. Joined a couple of month's ago due to a friend recommending the site due to the unbiased reviews and research after he bought a new Evnroll putter. For a lot of us, we can't afford to go get fitted and get a brand new driver, woods, hybrids, irons, wedges etc.... I'm guilty of lurking for the past few months to read and learn a few things, and I'll put my neck on the line saying that I'm not the only new guy that hopes to get his hands on all that sweet new Cobra equipment to test. I know it is not the priciest equipment out there, but from the new F8 lineup, how much are we talking? $2K? I got my driver for 95 bucks 4 years ago and that was a steal. woods and hybrid for $35 off of divot.com 4 years ago, $35 for my putter off of ebay, and irons for $250 on ebay as well. Just took a while to piece it all together. So damn addicted to golf right now it's not even funny folks. Have a great Navy Day!!!
  10. Good Afternoon All, Rafael Figueroa here. Joined a couple of months ago and have been doing some extensive reading for educational purposes, this site has helped me a ton, referred by a friend. US Navy Chief currently stationed at Macdill AFB in FL. Played at a Veteran's association tournament in 2013 and have been hooked on Golf ever since. From then through 2014 I would just go out and drink and have a blast with friends but started taking it seriously in 2015. Played baseball my whole life so I think that has helped in my playing skills from the beginning. Have never taken lessons (not opposed to it), just haven't gotten around to it with deployments and things. I do not keep an official handicap but I do log my rounds through The Grint and I'm about a 15 right now. Lefty Driver : Taylormade SLDR Woods: Taylormade Jetspeed 3, 5 wood Hybrid: Taylormade Jetspeed 3H Irons: Taylormade Sppedblade HL 4-AW Wedge: Cleveland RTX Satin, 54 Putter: Nike Method Core Drone
  11. 1. Rafael Figueroa, Macdill AFB, Tampa FL. 2. Driver: Taylormade SLDR Woods: Taylormade Jetspeed 3, 5 wood Hybrid: Taylormade Jetspeed 3H Irons: Taylormade Speedblade HL 4-AW Putter: Nike method drone 3. Current Handicap: 15 4. My goals are to consistently score in the low 80's high 70's. Would love for MGS to give me an opportunity to show these clubs around this military base so I can whoop all my Army, Air Force and Marine buddies!! Really would love this opportunity!!!!!
