  1. Proud of my Hawkeyes this year
  2. I work with Monte. All I need to say
  3. It’s life. You live and learn.EVERYONE I’ve talked directly with that was either an asst pro or head pro.All wished they never got in the business. They work people until they can’t take it anymore.Terrible benefits, little pay , long hours, unfriendly clients. The one benefit is free golf. But who wants to play after a 70 hour work week? Basically a slave for the elitist. This is one industry that needs a complete pay restructuring. One can make more money working less at a fast food counter than golf
  4. Most of these hot topic threads and political posts are coming from guys who don’t even play golf anymore. If golf isn’t your thing anymore.Or you can’t play.Than why post here
  5. All these top tier teams have padded schedules. They need instituting a rule for top tier teams.Every week should be a high end caliber top 25 matchups. If your outside the top 25 your schedule gets padded until you prove yourself.Would show who deserves being ranked highly each season
  6. I've always found it not odd but different in guys that post on this forums. You have some that play less than 5 rounds a year. Some who haven't played all season. And even a guy who hasn't played in over 9 years. You would think a golf forum would be for avid players. Its great they post. But if I was in their shoes I don't think I would
  7. This had to be the most well thought out program on swinging a golf club. The book ‘ videos ‘ on line info covered every single aspect of their method. Is this teaching still relevant? What happened with stack and tilt. I rarely find anything current on it, which is a shame
  8. Forgot telling my story as the OP. We had a local men's player who consistently shot mid to low 80.His Goal was dropping from 80's > 70's scoring. So, he did the wisest thing and decided on going ‘all in' with a local teacher. This instructor believed in certain ‘required' positions for all his students success. After a season of one on one instruction he was left with a mess.He ended up losing the ability of advancing a driver more than 200 yards and crooked. His scores have ballooned and can barely break 90.Many told him go back with the natural swing.Refusing all logical advice, he sticks with it and continues taking lessons from that instructor. When does one reach the breaking point.!??Realizing the info he has been given isn't working for him
  9. Who on here completely revamped their golf swing and destroyed their golf game. Either from recommendations of a teaching pro. Or over tinkering on ones own.
  10. Granted the caddy and I didnt see eye to eye: Yep. That is the reason every time. (Face palm)
  11. At times it gets ugly and many leave.Usually it's over forums that specializes in giveaways prizes and meet and greets.Than it becomes this huge popularity contest.Ive always felt bad for people that post long well drawn out posts or threads and never get a response. But than you'll get the extreme active posters who will post garbage and get responses from all their online buddies. If one has to kiss butt too be popular online than consider me gone. And I'm not going to go bat crazy for free giveaways.Nor go all out and meet people online just too be popular on a forum.
  12. perfect post. For anyone that is or was a steep golfer with bad rotation this is key.The opening or turning of the bat handle on the way down is vital.Anyone who tells a steep golfer close the club face on the way down is an complete idiot.Ive had a few lessons where the pro told me this.I would just look at him and say ‘hell no'.Previous steep golfers like myself will hit the ball left of left (for a right hander) every time. And than develop a nasty flip open release over time so they can try and get the ball in play. Not sure why more instructors don't advocate an open clubface transition with an natural torqued release at impact.Really produces some simple powerful shots. And a natural inside shallow approach into the ball

Can never understand the complete body tattoo thing.Having maybe a few or one is fine if discreet about it.However; more and more I'm seeing others showing off the whole body package. What gives one the idea coloring up the whole body is beyond me
  14. Great write up.Out of all the online teachers.Mr Martin Chuck is the forerunner
  15. Yes . All great golfers had torque in the transitional phase. And many times the lower body naturally opens with handle torque. The ‘free ride down' theory is a bunch of nonsense
  16. hard to find anywhere.Way more casual a few time a year golfers. Versus avid golfers that you might see on more continual basis
  17. What in the world was that coach thinking from the Thai soccer team. Why lead them into caves when he was told bad weather and flooding on the way
  18. Shot an 76 yesterday in blazing heat walking. When it gets super hot I'm always amazed how far the ball flies.Had 2 eight irons carry 185 with gps
  19. What is up with people Tatooing themselves lately? It's not a few anymore. I'm seeing people walking around like a living Picasso. In all walks of life. And even at elite golf courses
  20. Sent my swing to my instructor last week on video. He promotes a very vertical steep backswing and transition.Looked like I was getting flat and stuck again according to his recommendations.Went out in the 90 degree plus heat and hit 2 full buckets grooving the drills he sent me.I hit a few this AM and the ball was flying a country mile with a nice draw again. This instructor is a pure genius
  21. Worst : 1-3: online golf lessons 4-5: golf instruction videos and books Best: 1-3: in person golf lessons and clinics 4-5: all club purchases after proper in person lessons. With a proper swing you can hit anything well Can't learn a game reading a book or watching a computer screen. In person or just go home
  22. Really tried to get my thirteen year old interested. We attended a father daughter clinic many years back. She was a real trooper to the very end.Never picked up a club since and absolutely hates golf. Its just a tough sell in todays society. Our generation grew up in golf.Current generations can careless about golf. The game is in trouble
  23. Been down that road.Find a detour quickly
  24. I think par 3 or executive course would be ideal. And one that maybe has a lighted range as well for after dark fun.Unfortunately, this great sport has a terrible stigma that was ingrained decades ago.Hard to escape that this great game was centered around the older elitist crowd. No matter how fun or accessible you make this for all. That negative mark is a tough one to make disappear
