  1. I'm with you on the hi-tops, but I'm thinking the blue pants are going to be cool. Much better than the orange, at least. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  2. This is pretty much my feeling on it. My grandmother used to say "there are celebrities, and then there are important people." I've used that line I don't know how many times. I just wish the kids I teach and coach would listen when I tell them.
  3. Good post. Sorry about the knee. This is the fundamental reason for golf shoes for me. No matter what age you are, or how good you are, golf is an athletic venture. Providing an appropriate base for the rest of your body is important for avoiding injury. It only makes sense to wear shoes that are designed for the task. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  4. I'd be in on that!! Right around my cousin's wedding in North Dakota too, I think. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  5. Yes, it will. And you will get more pleasure out of what replaces it. Enjoy it while you can, but the enjoyment of watching your 5 year old spend hours swinging a golf club in the yard will be far greater.
  6. Lucky sonofagun. Whatever the exact opposite of a man cave is, that's what I've got. Good on you. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  7. I'm with you. I don't have anywhere near the wardrobe to worry about dressing out like that. I'm lucky to pick stuff that doesn't clash.
  8. I'm sure that I have a much worse and less consistent swing, but I think along the same lines about what I can tolerate. I went from a set of TM Burner irons to some Ping i20s. Not because they fit my physical game better, but because when I looked down at the Burners at address, I had zero confidence. I don't necessarily hit the Pings better, but I feel better about it. I know I really need to find a more GI iron that I can play comfortably, because there's no doubt I would score better. I just need to feel confident about them pre-swing. It's amazing how physically difficult this game is, yet the mental part is even harder. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  9. I can absolutely see why someone would think the traditions feel contrived, but the traditions are what makes The Masters, aren't they? If you eliminated them, wouldn't it be just another golf tournament? Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  10. Great. Thanks for the information. I'll definitely add to my signature, and will get some pics up in that thread.
  11. Avatar is up. Is there a specific place for a WITB, or do you mean in my signature? Also, I made a donation a few days ago. How do I get one of those awesome MGS Donor tags under my avatar? This has to be the best real golf community on the web.
  12. I don't know how I didn't write this post first. Talk about deja vu... Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  13. I've used GolfPad and liked it, but it didn't have a couple of courses that I play, so I went to 18birdies. I've had good luck with it, and it has certainly been accurate enough for me. I've downloaded The Grint, but haven't used it yet, so I don't have an opinion on that right now. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  14. I saved you the hassle, and didn't do an intro post. I just jumped in like I'd always been here. Everyone has treated me as if I've always been here. I feel much more welcome than if I had a bunch of replies to an intro thread. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  15. You all can tell me to stuff it if you don't want to go down this road, but speaking of Episode I, did it occur to anyone else that maybe QUEEN Amidala might have been able to scrape together the resources to arrange for the release of Anakin's mother? Might have saved the universe a lot of hassle. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  16. I have to do an intro thread to be selected?!?! [emoji33] Heck, I just jumped into the forums and started posting. I guess I'll have to do a belated one. I didn't join for the testing opportunities (although I'd be honored to do it.) I joined because you guys rock! Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  17. Didn't get to see it, but I wish I had. I'm always rooting for Bubba (and Phil, Harman and even Potter) as a fellow lefty, but that's the kind of thing that will make me actually like the guy. I agree with whoever posted about a life-changing illness. He seems like a completely different guy to me. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  18. It's been as compelling a tournament as I can remember. There hasn't been a dominant team all year, and there still isn't. It's always fun to see one of those low seeds keep advancing. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  19. Actually just found a TP5x yesterday. Figured if I lost it, it wouldn't matter so I teed it up on a par 4 to try to cut across some water. Had to carry 250ish to clear and get another 25 to be on the green. Best drive I've had in a while, and the ball felt great off the face. I'm going to grab some more and give them a good workout at some point. I was pleasantly surprised. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  20. Here's a late afternoon pic from my grandson's one hole golf course (Carter Country Club.) I love the fact that he loves to swing that club so much. He'll spend HOURS out there hitting those foam golf balls. He makes contact almost 100%, too. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  21. You and me both. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  22. Outstanding. I, too, love the towel. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  23. My buddy I played with yesterday went with his putter from the fairway several times. I'd guess a couple of them were close to 50 yds. It probably depends on the course and conditions, and I'm one who would not bring the putter, but a little creativity with the blade might not be a bad thing. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  24. I'll second this. I think most people don't realize how much time they spend sitting and the effect it has. I built a plywood top about 16 inches tall for my desk so I can do all my work standing up. I commute 1:15, and that's enough rear end time. If you sit a lot, it can really be hard on you in bad ways. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  25. Played one of those rounds today that seemed to be a scramble basically from start to finish. The only shot I remember thinking was what I really wanted was my drive on 18. I cut a corner, carried about 250 and landed it on the green. Everything else seemed to be off. I had a few GIR with 3 putts, and several one putt pars. I was really surprised to add it up and only see a 90. If you had asked before I did the math, I would have said 110. I guess all the scrambling made it seem worse than it was.
