  1. Jonathan Cambridgeshire, UK Currently gaming ping iE1 S300 7 iron in this warm summer UK weather (which I hope lasts this year) is carrying an average of 170 (inconsistencies, ahoy!) Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
  2. As the consideration for irons continues into 2018, I must say that I want to give some Wilson irons a hit. Seeing these really isn't helping that urge! Cheers OP.. The only downside I've seen before is limited stock shafts, yet still a high price in the UK. That or I'm looking in the wrong places.. Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
  3. Jon, Cambs UK.. HOLA! Currently gaming ping iE1 4-P with S300 Hcp 19 C300 forged, sil vous plait! Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
  4. Vwooonnn.. Ah, ah.. Tooooooo.. Ah, ah.. Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
  5. I can't really add anything constructive now, I've got a bit of a mess to clean up.. Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
  6. I think it's the stigma associated with keyboard ninjas. My first post asking questions in the club building section was obvious answered by someone not of the troll variety, so kudos to MGS already! Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
  7. Seems I've struck a chord with a few people and found people with a similar problem.. "Hi Kevin.." First proper round this year over the weekend saw me at 87 (+17), showing great promise for the year. I went out in +5 and came back in +12, doh! Over the moon and definitely had my hit for the week. 8. I've been having relatively intense lessons this year, including a few on the greens. Having had the concept of using palm orientation to 'know' face orientation led me to this grip. That and I'm a bit of a Rose fangirl.. Needless to say I've moved to a prayer grip and this compliments my setup extremely well. I moved from a Superstroke 2.0 to the Flatcat FAT as it was recommended that I get something more girthy. A few putting green sessions and 18 holes later the putter definitely feels like a bit of a wand now. FYI I'm gaming a Studio Select Newport 2.6, can supply pics if anyone is interested. My verdict? If you're interested in the larger grip but not SS, something with zero taper or like the concept of using palm/ for orientation.. give this a bash. Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
  9. Tier 1 - Phil Mickelson Tier 2 - Terrel Hatton (C'mon MGS, its Tyrell) Tier 3 - Kiradech Aphibarnrat Tier 4 - Bryson DeChambeau Tier 5 - Shubhankar Sharma Winning Score: -10 Low AM: +3 Strong competition, cheers Wilson and MGS! I'm rooting for Phil as I dropped some cash on him each way before his win a few weeks ago. Go Lefty! Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
  10. The bigger names have been covered, but I'll admit that I'm a fan of Scratch golf. He's only got about 5k subs but it's another play on a UK golfer trying to get to scratch. He's not sponsored, he takes the piss out of himself and it's interesting seeing him go on a journey that seems relatively realistic. Worth a watch. Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
  11. Definitely interested in seeing a full shot of the putter, black shaft and all if you have one to hand. I'm on the cusp of going to get fit for an EVNROLL and this is NOT helping whatsoever OP. I'm gaming an old Scotty Studio Select Newport 2.6 and although I love it, I'm sold by the look and feel of the EVNROLL. Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
  12. I have to admit, I've lurked a fair while but was definitely drawn in by the Cobra challenge. After my main playing partner picked up the F8+ driver and 5w I have been reading a lot of literature around them wherever possible; I was like a moth to a flame.. Seeing a good golf forum is definitely appealing, because as much as I love trawling reddit, there are only so many 'rate my swing' and 'near hole in one' posts I can stomach. 13. Cheers for the feedback both. It was a steel shaft, but only light sanding from what I can gather. Where it snapped there wasn't much in the way of abrasion; I'd just run a little wet and dry around the tip after cleaning then dipped in acetone before committing to the reshaft. As for epoxy, I'd made certain to be slightly sparing with it so I believe there was roughly 1/4" or so in the tip. I'll blame my mate for being a mutant! Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
  14. After buying a Callaway XR 3i, to remove my fear of long irons, I have inadvertently created both a monster (3i head, Fujikura Green shaft..) and a bug for club building. I am well aware that I'll never get a career in this BUT sorting bits for myself and my buddies will definitely appeal to me going forwards. I am a tinkerer by nature. After re-shafting a friend's 718 T-MB 2i with a PX LZ 105 6.5 shaft, we thought he was sorted. X100 was too heavy for him, but the LZ being a bit lighter was a mutant. He swings arguably too fast (iirc 122-127 w/ Driver) and ultimately snapped the LZ shaft under the hosel. Assessing the shaft, it was a complete snap and there was no obvious sign of anything protruding into the shaft or any warping/bending. When taking the tip that was left in the head out, there was about 10mm of shaft exposes, so it wasn't even caused by contact with the head. Now, was this potentially me building incorrectly, or my friend just being a monster?
  15. I guess as most of you here have the bug, is this not more akin to an AA meet..? The obsession is real! My name is Jon and I've been golfing for about 4 years now. Sadly, this year I am making an effort to improve bar taking a bad guess at my handicap and playing with my buddies. I have committed to regular coaching and have set goals to reach by the end of the season. Frustration set in having serious shanks in the middle of last season, but also seriously inconsistent scores. I typically play 9-12 holes a few times a week in the summer, but last year seemed to score everything from 2 shots over to somewhat 20 shots over. As with other hobbies, I am now that guy which seems to be endlessly trying to learn about the industry, the physics of the game as well as my own mental game. Let's see how 2018 pans out..
