  1. havent had a 3W in the bag for about 25 years. I use a 4+W and its used every round, I get easily the same distance as a 3W, sometimes more with the slightly better loft.
  2. WOW! 21MPH increase.....fantastic, well done!
  3. arrived at course practice area to try my 'new' chipping technique which I think is the most natural one I've seen and I expect it to be perfect for me............. course covered in hailstones and freezing wind so they aint thawing. Went home and sulked!
  4. share the info as apparently there are still people that really struggle with thinning and fatting................asking for a friend
  5. Streuth Shiela, nearly missed it! Happy Aussie day! Fire up the barbie and have a few cold ones
  6. just an 'interesting' piece of trivia but apparently the robot only said Danger Will Robinson ONCE in the history of the show! The other times he just said "Danger Danger..." to anyone that was around. I also used to say Danger Danger Will Robinson (I still do when theres an awkward moment with strangers and someone is reversing their car towards us or similar), I either get funny looks or a smile of recognition, it could be a smile acknowledging I've been let out of the care home for the day, but I like to think they get my joke.
  7. hahaha very good- one 'slight' inaccuracy is the Scots first referenced 'gowf' in 1260 (a year before the finger in the dyke country) when they would go gowf hunting chasing haggis in the Scottish Highlands with a club a bit like the Irish shillelagh walking stick. Once captured they would use the poor Haggis body and try and hit it back into it's den/hole, the chaser that did it in the least number of 'hits' was the winner. As Michael Caine would say.........."there's not a lot of people know that..."
  8. wheels off today, driver not behaving and fatted and thinned 4 chips to a disappointing 78- it was cold and windy with lots of mud- I'll use that as my excuse today lol
  9. The reduced lofts in the GI clubs are purely because these irons launch higher.
  10. said Nick Faldo.................. and he was right
  11. Driver and wedges are key strengths for him, havent seen him miss a fairway but only played 3 times with him
  12. Loved Stranger things! Have you seen the twitter image of Hopper now- amazing!
  13. Driver and Putting- both improved exponentially by the ebay purchase of an untested, unfitted driver and putter- go figure, just got lucky I guess. Trying to get a chipping lesson sorted with the pro, if I could chip I'd be dangerous but I still fat and thin around the greens, it's soul destroying.
  14. I had a post awhile back re Netflix, this post is for any medium whether Netflix/Cinema/Amazon Prime etc etc I recommended Banshee last year, outstanding series. Just watched JETT, series 1, which I think is by the same production company, it is also outstanding. If you liked Banshee you will like JETT. Cobra! New from Sky about a major event in London- It's badly acted, poor direction and implausible story lines full of holes. Avoid...IMO.
  15. Gary Player once said....and I paraphrase..."if he could play an amateurs shots from 140 yards and in, he would half their handicap" That says it all for me. Short game is King. My local Pro has a SS of 104mph with driver and shoots under par EVERY time he plays on ANY course (caveat of bad weather or bad luck of course) His wedge game and putting are phenomenal.
  16. Taking the SIM Max out for a demo round this Saturday, pro absolutely loved it 2 days ago, he missed zero fairways, he said he didnt get more distance just better dispersion, nicer sound and higher confidence- he shot -4
  17. 2 birdies and 76 today. Need to stop getting a double bogie from the middle of the fairway!
  18. thanks for pointing that out, must have scanned to fast as I'm busy. I've now taken the time to read it entirely and it does answer my 'rushed' question. I'll be sure to check in future before asking about something that's easily read if I had the time.
  19. Have Callaway fixed the off centre cores and other issues or is it just marketing for their new ball? I liked the Chromesoft, but after some performance issues on the course (i.e a banana slice from nowhere and I dont banana slice anything) I stopped using, but would like to go back and try them if they are stating they have sorted the issues MGS proved.
  20. To answer the OP question........ NONE! for the first time in a decades I am 'almost' content with my bag from a playing perspective. Caveat is if something very sexy or more consistent came along it would be rude not to try it
  21. season 2 was good, not quite as good as the first one, but potential for season 3
  22. had my lowest putts per round yesterday with it, really good solid putter that delivers
