Kwoodfield got a reaction from cksurfdude in Short Game Scenario - Shot Choice
I have 3 shots with this scenario. Depending on the grass and green set up. If either Take my 54* and pitch to the green, bump with a 9i, or almost putt it with my 2i. Totally depending on how tight the fairways are, how firm they are, how sticky the fringe is, far the greens are, etc

Kwoodfield got a reaction from Merlin1313 in How many wedges are in your bag?
I was playing the p770 and had the pw bent to 46*. So I carried a 50,54,58 in addition to the pw. Just switched to zx7 mkii and the pw is 46, so I’ll carry the same wedge set up.

Kwoodfield reacted to GolfSpy BOS in Callaway Paradym Drivers - 2023 Forum Review
TESTERS ANNOUNCED!!
The second Callaway Test of the season and we have 4 great testers for this one!
Callaway is known to pack a punch in the driver market with high performance models to suit all levels of golfer from PGA Major champions down to the recreational or new golfer.
They know what it takes to create a competitive selection of modules to suit your game so we have all three retail models of the Callaway Paradym drive family up for review! Each of the Paradym drivers comes with key technologies and features that set it apart from the competition:
An industry-first 360 Carbon Chassis eliminates titanium from the body, so engineers can push weight
and stability to the limit. This massive weight savings is repositioned both forward which is designed to enhance
ball speed, and toward the back of the clubhead is designed to increase forgiveness.
The Company’s A.I.-designed Jailbreak system enhances stability for faster ball speeds, while an all-new
A.I. face optimization enhances speed, launch, spin, and now downrange dispersion. Paradym is the first
driver to utilize Callaway’s face cup technology.
Three models are available: Paradym is suited to a wide range of players, with Callaway’s best
combination of distance, forgiveness, and adjustability. Paradym X is best suited for players who want
exceptional forgiveness and a slight draw bias, and Paradym Triple Diamond is ideally suited for better
players who want to work the ball.
Please welcome and congratulate our testers!

Kwoodfield got a reaction from FallenSaber in Thoughts on Handicap
I think some of these are a little far fetched. I see what they are getting at with the datapoints but I can tell you, I’m at .9 index right now, and I have shot 66-84 this year on the same course nonetheless. I do agree that some of these scores based on handicaps may likely not happen but 132 years? Just say never lol. But they can’t though because it is possible.

Kwoodfield got a reaction from Merlin1313 in Unofficial Poll - White Pants
I own a pair from when they were the best thing ever, but haven’t worn them in years. They should actually just be donated really. Plus I’ve put on few lbs not anything crazy but if I wore them I’d feel like the stay puffed marshmallow man..

Kwoodfield got a reaction from IndyBonzo in 3 Hybrid or 5 Wood?
If I had to pick one it would be a 3h. 5W just tended to be too high off the tee and not as easy to hit from the rough if needed. I personally carry a 18* 2i which gives me, for my game, the most versatility. I can keep it low if the tee if needed. And much easier out of the rough. There is very little chance if the ball is sitting down of getting a 5 wood on it.

Absolutely not. I own nothing white. I could be 20’ away from a jar of salsa and somehow it ends up on my lap.

Man the srixon irons imo are the most underrated irons. I currently have a zx7 / z forged blended set, and a set of zx7 mkii irons. Love ‘em!

I got fit for the tsr3 with a ventus blue 6X tr shaft. Funny thing is I went in with an open mind. Historically I have NEVER been a titleist guy. But here we are buying a new driver and 3 wood…

Kwoodfield got a reaction from Tim McCarthy in The best ball?
I have switched recently. For a long time I played the z star xv but recently went to the avx and have been very happy. I think there are sO many balls out there you just need to try some and figure out what works best for you though. My group hated the z star balls. But I’m not crazy about the tp5 a few of them play.

Kwoodfield got a reaction from SFLOrange in New Scotty Cameron Super Select
Yes echoing above, you need to try and see if one of them is better for you than the other. Personally, I think there isn’t much difference between the two. It’s mainly the text. To me, they are the same putter and virtually have been for years. Don’t fix what isn’t broken.

Kwoodfield reacted to cnosil in Shaft question
This topic seemed like as good of a place as any to post this.
I was doing most wanted testing last night and Sam was mentioning the mizuno shaft optimizer to some students that were at headquarters. After my session I asked Sam if I could see what it recommended. We did the swings and the top shaft for me was KBS Tour 120 in stiff. Don’t remember the next two but my club champion fitting recommended the same shaft.
Have to give a thumbs up to what the shaft optimizer recommends. Looks like I have the right shafts in my irons.

Exactly, if you can game them, and they work when you show up, who cares! People will only talk because they don’t want to lose to someone with a “starter” set!

Kwoodfield reacted to Moco in Scotland - Old Course, Royal Dornach, Gullane and Dundonald
Have made 2 trips over and can’t get enough. There is nothing like the Old Course. Played 3 rounds in the 2 trips. Used a caddy twice, well worth it. Both were real smart-asses that were fun to banter with. Sticking shot to 8 feet on 18 for the crowd was great although missed the putt. Next round, I was 7 over and shanked second shot off hotel to shoot 80. That 11th hole is a challenge and I did not pat it any day. For those of you that haven’t played there, it is a much walking on the ground feels different, but remember
Royal Dornach was a perfect Scottish day as attire needed changing each hole. Doubled 18 for 77. Good memories from here since Delta lost my luggage for 4 days and they bought me Foot Joy DNAs, a nice umbrella, skullcap , markers and Dozen balls.
Gullane was a interesting but not quite as much character as the others.
Dundonald was hidden gem. Not quite the coastal course as other courses on that stretch of the west, but a great test. It was most fun, although toughest round. I got fortunate to play with 3 members, one being a former Scottish Am champ. We had a good 4 ball match and they took care of lunch and breakfast. A truly memorable experience.
Always take a picture of a beer (and maybe a Scotch) to toast friends and family not here anymore and remember the good time.
