  1. I play 18 holes with one golf ball then it goes in the practice bag to use for chipping, or experiment with a different shaft or driver or use to give lessons.
  2. For those golfers that really want to exercise for golf fitness----I found a great book just for golf even with a 11-day fitness program. "Get Yourself In GOLF SHAPE" by Cindy Reid w/Steve Eubanks. It has year round drills to build a strong flexible golf swing. It explains which muscle groups involved in the golf swing and so on 200+ pages.
  3. I have been to the MASTERS tournament a dozen times. I attended the EZ-GO training for a week and they arranged a tee time for the 12 of us to play Augusta National on Friday morning (Jan. 1988). But it snowed that morning and the course was closed----I came so close to playing there.
  4. Could of been a better name and logo, but Tiger is Tiger and most likely it will sell.
  5. Ok I understand, putting is an individual thing each has their own style that works for them--got it,
  6. It is best described in Tiger Woods book "How I Play Golf" chapter one pages 24 and 25, how light pressure is best when putting.
  7. It is best described in Tiger Woods book "How I Play Golf" chapter one pages 24 and 25, as how a light grip pressure when putting is best.
  8. Snake eyes clubs are from Golfsmith (now out of business) the forged irons are good hitting clubs---in due time may want something more forgiving. Maltby clubs from Golfworks are a great deal (with different price points) and they will custom make them to fit the golfer not just something off the rack at a store.
  9. Putting drills: Look at the hole while stroking the putter and watch the ball go in the hole from all distances, this will smooth out your stroke while looking a spot you want the ball to start on your intended line. Put a coin on the putter head (in hope that it stays there) to smooth out your stroke. Place a ball about 6 inches behind the putter and gently with the backstroke roll the ball backwards a little then take the follow through stroke to hit the intended ball towards the hole. The ladder drill to help with distance control. Find your grip pressure--lighter the better. Place a ball on the edge of the cup and from 6 feet away hit a ball firm enough to knock the other ball into the hole (helps with your concentration). Putting is a game within a game so treat it that way/make it fun to practice.
  10. My gamer is the Kirkland ball--good value for my money.
  11. I play at 8 am on Tuesdays with a group of 36 seniors.
  12. Wedges currently in my Sun Mountain carry bag: Mizuno 50/6* degree MPR12 carbon forged Mizuno 54/9* degree MPT11 carbon forged Inazone black Shadow 58/7* cnc milled 304 soft stainless
  13. When playing for cash no putts are given. Playing for fun its up to your group to give the ok/no particular distance.
  14. If you want more information on spin rates you can look on these websites: Trackman or GraffGolf or GolfWRX And yes a golf lesson would help on the problem of adding loft with your irons at impact. I always fix the golfers swing before a club fitting or ordering new clubs or adjusting loft and lie of current clubs,
  15. I carry 9 irons: #5-9 plus PW (45*), GAP (50*), SW (54*), LOB (58*).
  16. Here is some information about clubhead droop------according to Ping (on the exam I took to be a clubfitter) the effective lie angle will flatten/droop with a #7 iron .52 degrees for men and .59 degrees for women. Also can find information at The Golfworks of the dynamics of the shaft in the swing. Also in much more detail head will droop with a downswing time of 0.39 seconds at the site of Tutelman. So every time I start with a static fitting I make sure the iron head toe is slightly off the ground as the fact that it will droop in the downswing.
  17. Just about all club companies can spine shafts but that takes too much time and time is money. So just about every driver or irons the spine is way off and the shaft will wobble in every direction so the miss hits are not totally the fault of the golfer. I spine all my shafts that come right out of the box. If the golfer wants to hit the golf ball straight I will spine the shaft at 9 o'clock (which keeps the tip and head stable at impact/less twisting). If a golfer wants to work the ball I will spine the shaft at 12/6 o'clock. A few graphite shaft makers will spine the shaft at the factory with a line on the butt end.
  18. I spine the shaft at 9 o'clock which keeps the shaft tip stable at impact along with the clubface square at impact also.
  19. My wedges are 2* flat with lofts of 46*, 50*, 54*, and 58*.
  20. All my Maltby clubs are solid hitting.

  21. I have been playing with a Maltby KE4 Tour driver for 3 years--hits great with a solid feel and sound--nothing else can beat it. Just finished making the Maltby ST-i2 iron set #5-Gap heads. Made with "soft" 431 stainless steel--so I was able to bend these heads 2 degrees flat without any trouble using my 35 year old Golfworks loft/lie machine.
  22. I have both spiked and spikeless. It depends on the weather and course conditions. I believe that spikeless golf shoes puts less stress on the lower back during the golf swing because spiked shoes makes a golfer more planted on the ground. I don't need any more pain hitting a golf ball since my 2 back operations, 3 shoulder surgeries, and a hip replacement. It's strange as we get older (65+) we compare all of our operations and try to out do the next person.
