  1. I will definitely pick one of these up thanks for the heads up
  2. Just picked up a Odyssey Triple Track Double Wide with flow neck. I must say I love the triple track lines even though I game a Bridgestone TourB X. I am more of a feel putter and I like the lines for setting up to the ball correctly. It just suits my eye. I dont have great success when I use the lines on balls to align the putt. The feel off the face is as expected off the Odyssey. I am switching over from a mallet R-Line so distance control is my only concern at the moment. We'll see how it works out after a few rounds.
  3. I play the P760 which is essentially a combo set. I love the forgiveness on the top end. The scoring irons are just nuts on, with great workablity. If you haven't hit these irons, let me say they are just magical, and the sound they produce is heavenly.
  4. I just dealt with TM warranty on my M2 irons and the are great. I asked for the P790'S as a upgrade and they P760's! It was fairly painless process
  5. All in all it took about 24 days but that is because they screwed up and they are custom length clubs
  6. UPDATE to the update Well Taylormade screwed up and I am not getting the P790'S, they instead sent me the P760's,!!! Holy crap these are beautiful sexy little things. I will be doing a full review on them soon.
  7. Every 1/2" cut is -3 SW points ( reverse is also true) so a D3 becomes a D0, cutting a 1" becomes a C7 (huge effect on your swing) The shaft will feel minimally stiffer but you will definitely feel the SW difference. If you correct the SW with weight in the head and didn't tip trim it will greatly effect the way the shaft will play. You can butt trim an reduce grip weight to counteract the SW difference - 4 grams grip equals +1 SW Winn makes "lite" versions of DriTac grips that play at 23g and 25g which is 20 g lighter than most OEM grips which means you can cut about 3/4"from the butt with minimal SW difference from stock. The good club builder can also do a lot with hot metal and tip weights, along with shaft frequency and puring. Hope this helps
  8. My 2017 M2 irons faces were caving in again. This was the second set I have recieved from Taylormade. I returned them to my local Dicks Sporting Goods for some help. They contacted Taylormade and the remedy this time was replacement with M6's! I have to say I was very disappointed in the quality of the M2 irons, even though I really liked the clubs, but Taylormade really impressed me by standing behind their product. In fact they made it more than right. Now should I keep these or trade in the M6 for P790'S **UPDATE So when I orginally brought in my M2 to Dicks to be warrantied, I talked to the pro about paying the difference to upgrade to the P790'S. Taylormade said yes and no upcharge. Well the clubs arrived as M6. No worries when I picked the M6 still happy. Manager spoke to me the next day and said I wasn't supposed to pick those up! When the M6 arrived he call Taylormade and they are sending out P790's now as they promised. I should get them today or tomorrow!
  9. No offense taken, I agree I too have a very difficult time paying $4+ a ball. I usually buy generation old TP5 or ProV1 to lower the cost. I also buy used ProV1 in mint or near mint to fill out the bag for holes I am less confident on. I wanted to try ERC because of the tech and lines. It does seem to make a difference. I probably wont be buying another dozen till I find them on sale to be honest though. I will say the spin factor on approach shots is the biggest reason to but premium. They hold the green and will save you shots.
  10. Recieved a M2 2016 as hand me down gift from a relative last year. I was excited to get it but was soon very disappointed. Just felt wrong in my hands! HUGE SLICES no control and distance was less than average (230 yds) of my 3 wood. I would hardly ever hit it in the past year and every time it would punish me. Now I generally hit a decent 3 wood with a slight fade. I figured ok maybe it's the length, even though I 6'5". I decided to investigate cutting down my driver. First thing I did was measure the M2 to determine how much I wanted to take off. I measured 45"! WHAT!? unbelievably the club have been cut down 3/4" already and the swing weight had never been adjusted. I read up on how much swing weight I needed to get back to standard spec. As most off you know adding weight to the head would change the play of shaft. Then i found the Winn Dri-tac lite grip! Ordered them up and installed. At 25g it restored 5.5 swing weights which put me at D3.5. It feels wonderful now. The M2 is now my favorite. I can actually draw it now and my yardage is up...275 yd! I highly recommend this grip to anyone looking to modify club length without adding club head weight. It has changed my game. Thanks Winn grips
  11. Update after a few more rounds : Still loving the feel and the alignment aid really is a game changer. You just feel confident you're going to hit it square. I have it mixing in between Pro V1 TP5. Feel like I hit these straighter and I am losing less of them. I am hoping to get on a Trackman soon to do a proper side by side. durability- 8.5/10 it's a soft cover so I am not expecting more than a round out of them
  12. I am a heating and cooling tech and as I do Maintenance on my clients homes inevitably if I see golf clubs, we'll start talking golf. I have one that gives me large freezer bags full of mint ProV1 and another that tips me his corporate logo Pro V1 and TP5.
  13. I am green with envy. I have the opposite problem! I stripe my 3w 265-275 off the tee and 245-255 off the deck but my driver is 245 and way right. I think I need lessons! My two cents are the the F9 Cobra is just brilliant and very adjustable
  14. Current gamer - PRO V1 AND TP5 HANDICAP- 17.8 7 iron carry distance with current ball - 165 CARRY Trajectory - mid Putter - brand/model/insert + feel - firm, medium, soft The ball: CALLAWAY ERC SOFT Distance - same Trajectory - mid Spin - hop & stop Feel - soft Durability (1 round) - scuffed but payable Rating - GAMER Recently bought the new ERC Sofft by Callaway and I have a few thoughts. All in all it the great ball; distance, feel, spin, blah blah blah....Boring I know but the real deal is the alignment aid lines! Before my first round with them I took a hour to try them out onthe practice green. These things are like cheating! 30 footers: 1 made 2 missed by 2 ft! 40 foot: 3 within 2 ft. During they round drained 2 over 20' and missed close alot. I average 34-36 putts a round. This round only 30. I did notice it was slightly distracting to square up to the ball in the rough or fairway. Although this did give me a nice focal point. Overall very pleased with this ball and I will playing it regularly. I did notice that the lines on some of the balls weren't continuously or slightly misaligned. Not sure if I got a few bad ones or if their printing process isn't refined enough.
