They will be on the way!

The order was placed and will just take a little time to get all the golf balls out to the testers. Same thing I believe I had mentioned before (which could have easily been missed) is it took a fair bit of time to get the testers due to Shot Scope requirement etc. Also the main difference between the sampling and Shot Scope is the Shot Scope testers will be getting two dozen!

I don't think any of us in the full Shot Scope/Bridgestone test have received them yet. @GolfSpy_APH got them order a week ago today so we probably have at least a few more days before they arrive.

So... I need to pass on a warning for those who decide NOT to keep their demo shaft. First, though, I want to say that I do not believe this is an attempt to cheat anyone or slide anything past unsuspecting people. It's probably just the all-too common result of great idea people starting a company, but either neglecting or failing to recognize the importance of their back-end business systems. But after returning the demo shaft accomplished through their system by their process, my credit card has just been pre-charged, twice, for $250 each for a total of $500. This is not the same charge card pre-auth followed by a reversal of the same amount which was used to verify that the card is still valid during the demo period. This is two $250 charges.
I'm not at all worried that I'll actually have to pay anything, but it may force me to have to dispute the charge to avoid having to front the $500 since my closing date is happening soon - a royal PITA!  Another forum member warned me that this could happen so it's a known problem that they have not yet corrected. They need to fix it.
Update: It has just been fixed. Glad they got on it right way.

    My Story….

In 1959, the City of Frankfort, Kentucky opened a new park called Juniper Hills,  located just west of the city.  Juniper Hills included a Par 72, 18 Hole rolling terrain golf course and an Olympic size swimming pool.  My Grandfather and his buddies joined the club and began playing every week.  I was only 8 yrs old, but my Grandfather decided I was old enough to be his caddy.  So I began my golfing career pulling a Bagboy pull-cart filled with Powerbilt golf clubs up and down the rolling terrain of Juniper Hills.  As a caddy, I learned the rules of golf and how the game was played.  My first set of clubs were a hodgepodge set of old hickory shafted clubs, leftovers from my Grandfather’s old clubs.  Ones that he took to Africa when he was building a sawmill to harvest mahogany wood for office furniture in 1948-49.  He was a Civil Engineer.  They carved out some land in the jungles of the Gold Coast(now Ghana) for a 9 hole course and played it for their recreation. Sadly, today I only have the putter left, so it hangs on the wall above my desk at home.  I progressed from the hickory sticks to used Powerbilts that were my Grandfather’s.  At age 10, I got my first set of cleats(steel spikes of course).  I felt like I was king of the world when I walked around the clubhouse area going clickety-clack, clickety-clack.  I spent my summers at Juniper Hills, just a mile from my home, caddying in the mornings then either hawking lost balls, putting for pennies or playing in the hot Summer afternoons.  I witnessed a Hole in one at age 13 when one of my friends aced the 140 yard Par 3 #6.  For my High School Graduation, my Grandfather gave me a new set of Powerbilt irons. I got my Ace in August, 1985 at Pine Ridge Country Club in Winnfield, LA.  When I moved to Florida in 1987, I was a 10 Handicap, gaming Nicklaus Muirfield irons.  Unfortunately, I was either working, or playing with my 4yr old daughter so I did not get much time to retain my handicap and watched it slip to an 18.  Fast forward through the years to now, I have been playing with a 6” steel plate, 13 screws & an inch of my left hip bone in my left wrist (ice skating accident in 1998).  The inch of my left hip was to make both arms the same length again.  Because of the injury, my handicap ballooned to the mid 20’s for several years, so I moved to graphite irons to reduce as much vibration as possible.  I was able to get my handicap back down to 13 for a few months in 2011, but that did not last.  For the past several years, I have been an 18.  My course handicap is 10 as we play from the Senior tees (5,033 yards).  I also have two Ligaments damaged in my Left Ankle(too many ankle sprains).  The Dr’s offered surgery but I declined because I was not ready to stay off of it for 4 to 6 months and the surgery was not a given success.  I am an Accountant(Ky State Univ. 1977) that retired in Jan 2017 after 40 years mostly in healthcare and played 4 days a week wearing an ankle brace.  I got tired of the brace and decided to play without it.  I know when it is weak, I can slap on the brace.  My drives usually range from 185 to 205, with an occasional 220 and my 6i is my 150 yard club.  I am now 73 years old and play golf 3 times every week. After 22 years, I retired from running the Saturday Game, that routinely had 44 - 50 players.  I joined a different club, Heritage Isles, and play Mon/Wed/Fri with a dozen guys aging from 65 to 84.

    • I have previously reviewed Cobra Bio Cell, Cobra F6 irons and Cobra F8 Full Bag Challenge for My Golf Spy.  All were excellent sticks for a mid to high Handicaper.  I also reviewed the Evnroll ER6 putter and Tour Edge CBX119 4 hybrid as well as golf balls by Bridgestone and Maxfli. Most recently I reviewed the Speed Sticks and currently testing the Mindset by Bridgestone.

    • My Bag is as follows:  Vice Cart Bag, Driver: PXG 10.5* 0311 XF (Gen 5) driver with PX Cypher Senior shaft; Fairway Woods: PXG 0211 5 and 7 wood with PX Evenflo Riptide regular shafts & Tour Edge E523 9 Wood with Fubuki HD regular shaft. Irons: Titleist T300 5-9 + PW(43*) with Fubuki MV Senior shafts. Wedges: Edison 49* 53* & 57* with KBS PGI 80 gram graphite shafts. Putter is Evnroll ER2 with Evnroll Gravity Grip.

    • I use the Shot Scope X5 watch for recording my rounds and a Pinned rangefinder to get an accurate distance to the pin.

    • My current ball is the Maxfli Tour/Tour S/Tour X CG. I also game the Titleist Tru Feel in cooler months.

I had planned on saltwater balancing the Bridgestone I receive as well. But your test was interesting and encouraging. A few years ago, I saltwater balanced 3 different brand/model balls, anywhere from 9 to 12 balls each of Snell, Kirkland, and ProV1, and found that no one at that time had any that had 100% of their balls in balance, not even the ProV1s. Those that were out of balance all had a rate-of-return (the time it took to come back to the same position) about what your Bridgestone's did; all except one Signature. One of those puppies rotated like a Ferris wheel back to the same spot! That was during the time when Costco recalled an entire lot because of a mfg defect, but still.
I reasoned at the time that since ProV1s are such well manufactured/inspected balls and even they had a slight imbalance at times, that slow rate didn't signify enough to be of concern. No clue whether that was a correct assumption, but I went with it regardless. So, 2 of 12 at that rate of imbalance doesn't worry me, at least until someone corrects me!

I recently got the new Cobra Dark Speed X driver and played around with the Newton shaft before remaining with my trusty Motore X on which I installed a universal adapter so I can switch it between different models should I wish. But my next purchase has to be a specialty 50 deg gap wedge. I've used Mizuno JPX HM irons for several years (the 850's and now the 919's) and I really like them. But I've never been pleased with the gap wedges.; very inconsistent. I really need to find a place where I can do an outdoor, in and around the green demo.

This video spurred this thought - What is your go to iron shaft?
Great question, many different answers already on here but mine is the Project X LZ 5.5 115g tipped a half inch to get it close to a 5.75 since my swing speed has slowed as I have aged.  Great feeling, flight, and control and have them paired with the 2023 Mizuno JPX Hot Metal Pro's .... fabulous combination!

Good morning MGS. A dreary day here in the middle of the mitten state. Chilly, windy and rainy but that's ok - was able to play golf the last 2 days. While there isn't any golf on the docket today, there is plenty of work meetings, and a bunch of heads down paperwork today... may you all have a fantastic day!

Good morning all and happy Masters Day! Can't wait to follow along with the first round, really looking forward to seeing everyone back in the same field for this event. Community call on deck this afternoon plus another huge testing opportunity with the Ai Smoke drivers! Having hit the TD version earlier this year, they are definitely doing things right.
Got some extra practice in yesterday over lunch with my youngest on the range, then my oldest wanted to go in the evening as there was a little salt in the wound that we went without him earlier in the day 😂. Worked on mostly 1/2 and 3/4 iron swings as I am working through the yips, and was doing some swings with a complete and total pause at the top of my backswing. This actually allowed me to make some really good contact, which was nice as that has been escaping me. Not switching to the full pause swing (however it crossed my mind briefly 😂), but will keep doing that as I work back to good contact. We then played two holes and my son hit 1/2 GIR and chipped to within 3' on the one he missed the green. He continues to impress me with his ball striking as both drives were 80+ yards which I think is pretty good for a 6 year old with no formal lessons and a dad that does not know how to teach the golf swing lol. We got to talking about the yearly Drive, Chip & Putt contest and how the finalists get to go to Augusta to compete. He told me someday he wants to make it so that he can "meet Scottie." It was fun to see him so excited, and it will be a very fun season this year!

I've always been very apprehensive about anything to do with my eyes. Just about a year ago I went to the ophthalmologist for an annual eye exam. Not only did he say it's beyond time for cataract surgery but also that my right eye was so bad that he did not allow me to drive. He had a 4 week backlog but moved me up to the head of the line. Ended up having both eyes done - 2 weeks apart.  A very easy and quick procedure and immediately corrected my vision (it was life changing). The only PIA were the drops everyday for a few weeks. FYI my vision ended up 20/30 (I didn't opt for the expensive cataract lenses $5K each). Since I'm near sighted, I only wear glasses for distance, i.e. golf - so I can see those long drives 😎

Project X LZ for me!  I took a chance based on the description and other reviews for my previous iron set.  Actually got fit a few weeks ago and these were perfect for me.  They have a great blend of stability and launch.
