  1. I'm not sure about "best" there are a hungry i enjoy.  But most of the links style Scottish courses are the worst.  The idea of St Andrews is fun until you are inside your first pot bunker.  13 flop shot attempts off a hitting mat later and you have quit the round.

Hello. New to the forum. Like Miker2K, I'm in the CDA area.

How long have you been playing golf? What’s your handicap or normal score?

    25 years, 9 index.

What do you love about golf?

The courses, history and being outdoors.

What brings you to MyGolfSpy? Do you already know any other Spies?

Learn more about equipment and perhaps network with others. I don't know any others.

Where are you from? What is your home course?

I lived in San Diego for almost 40 years, where I learned to play. Just moved to the Coeur d'Alene area 2 years ago. Indian Canyon is my home course.

What are the best and worst things about golf in your region?

A lot of goof public courses in beautiful settings. Worst, as Mike said, short season, especially compared to San Diego.

What do you do for a living?

    Commercial Insurance

How’d you pick your user name?

I am a huge Seve fan.

Welcome to the boards and spokane! I was just out at liberty lake and meadow wood. Indian canyon is an up and down track for sure.  Are you in the men's club there?

Just picked up the air attachment and the yellow neon grips! I was looking to regrip this year as I regripped my clubs this spring with GP Velvet and they're already slick and lost most of their tack! Was planning on going with the Lamkin Crossline but this deal was too good. Hoping these will last, sad that their going out of business sale is what turned me to try them.

The neon yellow does stand out. 20230624_211358.jpg.ea6fa48a8fbecf49fd99223510c65ffc.jpg

Pure was originally a spinoff from Star Grips. The folks who left Star for Pure were unhappy about Star's inattention to cosmetics and marketing -- but NOT the formulation of the grips. Star is still in business and still my favorite. Try them. If you liked the feel, handling, and longevity of Pure, you should like Star.

That is good to know.  I'll keep that in mind in 6 years when i need my next regrip done!

I picked up a set of these when I got the notification.  I am curious if anyone had played Iomic and these.   How comparable are they?  Looking for a tacky grip that I can use without a glove.  It's alright most of the time but the golf pride mcc+4 I will occasionally lose grip on when overly hot/humid

I switched from iomic to these.  I find them to have more grip,  more tack and last longer.

I am hopefully planning a fall trip to visit family... It wouldn't take much to convince me to carve out an extra day or 3 for some Spy Golf 😉 .  Rest up that wrist Kenny, I want you to be 100% when I come!

Can't seem to get any traction with the PDX guys.  We are passing through on Sunday Aug 20 after attending a wedding and said we would stop and play. but so far no takers.

Maybe when @GolfSpy TCB gets here, we can arrange an outing with @Thin2win

    Im in.  Whatever it is.

Never tried these grips but 50% off is hard to pass up. Can someone explain the difference in the DTX vs the Pure Pro grips? And it is hard to tell from their site but are the putter grips round or do they have a flat front?

    Thanks in advance.

Pure pro are a tackler, more aggressive version of a golf pride tour velvet . I love thenlm.  Dtx have a different texture,  I think that's what @Kenny Bplays.

As follow up, I asked this question:

    and received this response:

I'll add, that looking at the top lines, they meet that target.  Behind the ball there isn't anything there to tell me that I've got a zx5 mkii or a zx7 mkii in hand. To top line and blade length are basically the same.  Which makes the ZX5 MKII look smaller than others in its category,  and the ZX7 MKII look slightly larger in its category.

On the bottom,  the ZX5 MKII's have a noticeably larger sole.

When Srixon put the prior gen ZX7s on sale, I ordered the 6-PW.  It is unbelievable how good these irons are.  I did have them all bent 1 degree strong and do not have any gaps between my 5-6 irons.  My distant control has never been better on my approach shots and they feel so pure.

This,  so this with the ZX7s. They are so good.

I am going to do a putter fitting this afternoon at the PGA Tour Superstore.  Anything I should make sure to ask or do during the fitting?

Id make sure to try putters of different lengths and different toe hang/face balance.

If you are quickly guided to a 34' slight toe hang putter,  it's still good to try a 33' with lots of hang, etc. If nothing else to confirm that what you are getting fit into really is the best option.

Also,  price doesn't correlate to performance.

Mine are on their way. How long was it for you between order and delivery?

Ordered on a Sunday,  delivered on the following Saturday.

I'm pretty sure at some point early on in this journey you asked yourself "which clubs did Bill end up picking?".  Glad to hear they are working out for you and bringing much needed golf mojo back into your life 👍.

95% this. Always ask myself,  WWBD?
