Last season, age 72, I posted in excess of 125 18 hole rounds using my “trusty” Taylormade 2017 M2. Fluctuating between the stock stiff & (winter) aftermarket regular shaft I THINK it is time to get fitted. It would be fantastic to report I’m more consistent using the MGS test model 🙏
LS; 10.5*; a shaft over 65gm w mid-size Golf Pride multi-compound grip for sweaty arthritic hands. 😄 I spend ALL my “spare” $ golfing so you can bet I’ll give a thorough testing and detailed report!

  2. I’m a “fairway half full” kinda guy.😁 My glass is either full or empty of beer (after play). This year I’ve played the top 3 Titleist balls, Callaway, Srixon, Taylormade, Bridgestone & found Kirkland, Vice & others. I’m currently playing Mizuno (RB Tour) & like them except on the 18th hole at MidSouth as they seem to have a hidden water magnet that only appears on the 2nd shot. I play 3-4 times a week & USGA has ranged from 5-15 in past 40 yrs. There are few balls mfgd I have NOT tried. Since anybody can afford a “free” budget, I’m ready for the next test opportunity! Bring it - I’ll send it!

  3. Currently using TM M2 in driver & 3 wf + antique Titleist  5 wd & a Cobra hybrid. 4i retired, 5i close as turned 72 in May & need to try out hybrids. Current irons are Mizuno JPX919 forged S, 2* flat. So, I know what “look” I like & once I find something that works I can explain why. My budget is limited so rather than new sticks, I’d rather spend my $ PLAYING 3-4 times a week. Anybody else understand? 😀

  4. 15 yrs ago I played Cleveland TA3s w 6.5 Rifle shafts, used a TM 510 S 75g 8.5* & maintained a 6.6 HCI. At age 72 in May its time I wised up now that I’ve started playing again after retirement. I prefer the look & feel of a forged blade but its said with age comes wisdom …. and arthritis, sciatica, putting woes and reduced distance… ALL true. If you want an honest assessment from someone in need of assistance, I’m your huckleberry!

    And the winning testers are:

hmmm, how about y’all sending me all 4 models, I get fitted & report which was best suited....& of course keep them or donate the other 3 to junior golfers? No? I wasn’t going to be one of the lucky 4 anyway, was I? I primarily use an old Mid Slant Pro Platinum Scotty Cameron & may send some antiques for others to test. Any takers for AP blade circa 1980s, Orig Ram Zebra 33”, etc?

  5. I haven't tried a new putter in 15-20 years, well, maybe in the golf shops, but never on course. I have tried many of my old putters (from TPM1 to Odyssey models to Ram Zebra, even an older Arnold Palmer similar to an 8802).

Like so many I've purchased and used many makes & models, done everything from deconstructing to reinventing ways to continue the quest for better performance. These all look intriguing and much more hi-tech than I've used, so send every configuration and model for a thorough test!  I prefer the looks to the ER11v and ER5v, 33.5-34.25".  Thanks......my turn, right?

  6. Had a set of Cobra irons (Mild Steel?) back in mid-80s & one of my sons still uses the SW. Those were very difficult to find a sweet spot on for me & I was an 8 Hcp back then. Would love to test & detail the magnificent advanced Cobra has made since that set.
