  1. Always struggle with hybrids. Been playing an Adams 9031. Probably the best out of the ones I've tried, but I picked up a Ping G2 HL 2 iron for more of a fairway finder. Probably start flipping between the two depending on the course. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  2. Just curious as to how many of you carry a fourth wedge, specifically 60* or more? I have a few clubs I swap out at the top end of my bag depending on the course, but I've been thinking of adding a lob wedge to my options based on the course I'm playing. For those you that play a lob wedge setup, how often are you actually using it a round? Just in case the question pops up I'm currently carrying PW (47) Gap (50) and SW (56). 3. Playing pretty poorly last two times out. Can't buy a putt. Came to a 198 yard, slightly uphill par 3. Absolutely smoked my Ping 4 crossover. One huge hop and dropped 6 feet from flag. I walked out with a par. Told you I wasn't lying about the putting. Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy
  4. Dan Kentucky, USA Ping Zing 2/JZ shaft/stiff flex 155 yards Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  5. Played Gatlinburg CC years ago. Fun course. Lots of elevated tee shots. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  6. We still have a little of the state north of Louisville. La Grange, KY. Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy
  7. I also picked up a dozen Volvik Vivids mid season last year. Hard as rocks and couldn't spin or stop them if I tried. Really disappointing. Grabbed a handful of Callaway Truvis Chrome Soft today at the checkout counter. See what I can do with those. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy

  11. If it ever stops snowing or raining around here this the setup I'm going into the season with. Driver- TaylorMade RBZ 10.5*/up 1.5* fitted win a Matrix MFS 58+ stiff shaft trimmed to 43”. 3 wood- Nike Vapor Fly HL 15*/up 2* factory stiff shaft. Hybrid- Adams 9031 Super. 23* this is filling the gap between my newer long irons replacements and the older lofted irons I carry. Long iron replacements- Ping Crossover 3(18*) & 4(21*). Not enough good things to say about these. Great flight, land soft with spin. Game changers. Irons- Ping Zing 2- five thru wedge. Been in the bags full year now. Other than new grips I haven't modified these at all. Never thought I'd play Pings, but I have to be honest, I love these irons. Wedges- Pjng Zing 2 becu- Sw(52*) & Sw3(57*). Love the look and feel of copper wedges. I've toyed with the idea of iWedges in 51* & 55*, but so far I haven't made the switch. Putter- Odyssey Versa 9- newest stick in the bag. Love the shape, weight, look, and feel of this club. 36” with a Super Stroke 5.0. All grips are midsize Pure Golf with 2 wraps low and 1 high except the driver which is 5/3. 12. As a bit of a club gearhead, I'm always interested in what folks may have gamed over the years. Plus it's probably a good way to exercise your brain if you've had quite a few lineup changes. PowerBilt Grand Slams-first set. Bought the demo set we had a Persimmon Ridge GC when I was 16. PowerBilt TPS Advanced- mix of blade and perimeter weighting. Looked like hockey sticks. PowerBilt Ellipsoid of Power- first set graphite irons I ever had. Loved these clubs and in hindsight should have never gotten rid of them. Hogan Apex- bored them out myself with a borrowed drill press and shafted them with graphite. Really nice set that deserved better from me. Acer XDS Wide Sole- these things were huge. A Big Bertha clone that played really well. Damn near everything went straight and high. Huge sweet spot. Another set I should have hung onto. Titleist DCI Black Oversize- great set. Played these for quite a while and even scored the BECU wedges doing a side job replacing a sewage pump for a buddy's folks. Kept these. Titleist AP1- pretty easy progression from the DCI. Enjoyed these clubs but never really “fell” for them. Ping Zing 2- the current gamers and likely to stay that way for the foreseeable future. Actually looking for a second set to try the “one length” club setup on this summer. Love the look (don't judge), and really love the way they play. The rafters of my shed a littered with drivers, woods, putters, and wedges. Hell, there are even a few that got away but this seems like it might be a fun topic. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  13. Those were definitely one of my favorite iron sets that I have gamed. Loved the way those irons performed. Nice set! Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  14. Been playing Titleist DT SoLo. I stockpiled boxes while my buddy was still on their prostaff. I messed around late last season with a Callaway Super Soft and really liked how it performed around the green.
  15. Hey everyone, My name is Dan and I'm a 45 year old father of three. Been golfing since I was 16 after I started my second summer job at Persimmon Ridge GC. The first was doing Construction at a local school during an extensive summer remodel. Not the gig that you'd want to build a life long hobby out of. I was at my best in college when I played to around a 10 handicap. I used the money my dad sent me for food to pay for greens fees while I survived on a steady diet of ramen noodles and hot dog buns. I've been brand loyal as a golfer for years. I played PowerBilt for a number of years after I began, and then spent a couple of seasons building my own clubs and gaming those. I went back the major manufacturers after that and carried a full bag of Titleist clubs. Following my divorce two years ago I decided to mix things up and just play whatever I felt like, so now it is truly a mixed bag. I'm carrying a Taylormade RBZ driver, a Nike Vapor HL 3w, two Ping Crossovers, an Adams Super 9031 hybrid to bridge a yardage gap to my irons. Starting with 5 iron I'm carrying a set of Ping Zing 2 irons, yes Zing 2's, and they are fantastic! I go through sw3 with those, with the last to being becu wedges. Putter is big variable with a couple of Scottie's (a Laguna, Red X, and a mongrel Red X), a Zing 2, and a new addition of an Odyssey Versa 9 that is looking pretty promising right now. I've been gaming Titleist DT SoLo's and now am testing the Callaway Super Soft. I just like a softer ball around the green and I love how these two respond. I'm a club tinkerer so I've started modifying clubs and have for years. All grips are midsize and currently I'm using Pure Golf in shock orange. Looking forward to getting to know everyone on here.
