  1. This is all very good to know. Providing a rubric is an excellent way to show/remind people about what you should do. That being said, I only apply to a select amount of items (I know I won't care about some products). That being said, maybe I should make my own review. I'll just follow the rubric. Getting tired of waiting to win the lottery.
  2. If you just want the ball to go in the hole, you're not going to make it happen. The only thing you can do, the ONLY thing, is hit the ball whete you want it. Line it up and make the stroke you want. The result will happen on its own. Try to really and truly forget about the result and just focus on did you hit the putt where you wanted. If the answer is yes, give yourself a fist pump. If you don't then try to hit it where you want next time. Now if you're looking for how to make yourself feel better you need to go watch the YouTube video on the power positions of confidence. Your body can actually influence your mind. I've tried it and it works. Sounds crazy but it does. It's in a ted talk given by a woman.
  3. My driver spin is around 2k not spin with irons. My iron spin is a bit low but I launch the ball semi high. I spin the ball around 9k to 10k with a pw. And yes my driver is about 115mph to 118 with 10° launch and 2k backspin. I get about 170 to 178 ball speed. I've hit the 180 mark a few times but I was working at it every day and really trying to get longer. So my carry numbers are anywhere from 285 to 305.
  4. I play the X. I tried the XLS but it didn't spin enough on driver mishits and fell out of the sky. When I hit the XLS well, it went about 5 yards more on everything. But I need my spin to be around 2000. Less than that and the ball starts to become hard to predict off the driver.
  5. I can see literally no one has mentioned the Callaway ball. That is the absolute best ball in the wind, hands down. That being said it doesn't go nearly as far downwind, so it has its drawbacks. But it doesn't move nearly as much as other balls do in the wind. I reached a 600 yard par 5 into the breeze with it. Well 10 yards short, but still. I was amazed. 320 drive and 270 3 wood. I nutted both shots. Have 4 witnesses for it too.
  6. The Shaft flexing forward st impact has ZERO, I repeat ZERO, to do with release of the wrists. It has to do with the club head catching up to the hands due to the flex of the shaft. Your wrists can't do squat during the swing if done correctly. Or rather, you can't make them do anything do to how weak they are compared to what is needed to actually make a difference.
  7. Your issue isn't what you think it is. The reason you're unable to take a full backswing on normal shots is because your mind knows you're out of position and can't hit the ball correctly if you take a full swing. Your mind is really trying to help you hit the ball straight. I promise you, if you close your eyes and swing you'll be able to swing fully... even over the ball. It may not be the result you want for the direction, but you'll be able to swing. If this works hit me back for more help. In the mean time, check out the guys on AMG GOLF on YouTube. Best guys out there for help.
  8. Having your weight on your lead foot should allow you to rotate through the shot more consistently and lead to better contact for sure. But you can put your weight on the lead foot and still chop down on the ball. This makes consistent contact very hard. There's a great drill that doesn't require any ball or any skill. Just put your club on the ground like you're taking your stance. Now move the club so that it contacts the ground for as long as possible. The club SHOULD be forced to rotate around you. This is the path you should try to duplicate when you chip. Don't try to pick the ball, but rather try to slide the club along the ground for as long as possible. The guys at AMG golf do a great job of depicting this. And if you don't know AMG golf YOU SHOULD!!!
  9. So the goal is to hit the right yardage. More often than not that means hitting the right carry distance. Now I didn't hear you say you struggle with strike consistency, but I'll bet you do. The best way to get solid contact is to make sure you turn through impact and keep your head the same height. You should be able to brush the ground for a solid 7 inches to maximize your chance of solid contact.
  10. One word, Quintic. Until MGS uses this system to really evaluate putters, it's a guessing game at best. Find yourself a Quintic system and go roll every putter you can find.
  11. How do I say after every shot? If you're hitting a ball with a dirty club you're shortening the life, and hindering the playability, of your club. You don't need soap and water to clean your clubs, unless you got oil on them. You also need to towel dry your clubs. DO NOT LET THE FACE AIR DRY!! That will destroy the grooves.
  12. When the ball flies too far, too high, or won't spin correctly, it's time for new wedges. Also, be sure to clean your clubs between strikes. If you don't, the mud and grit will act like sandpaper on the grooves when you strike the ball again. Also, don't allow your wedges to air dry after cleaning them. The evaporating water will dull the grooves leading edge and you'll lose a little grip every time you do this. Your disposable razor is the same way.
  13. 14. I have never liked the Sim 2. The way it sounds, the way it hits, the look from above, it does zero for me. Now the Callaway Mavrik Triple Diamond, and the new Callaway Epic Speed Triple Diamond are ridiculously good clubs. Not for everyone, but they just check all the boxes. I was a huge fan of the PING 410 LST too. (The new one 425 has a hiss when you swing it back, not a fan).
