  1. Freddie forever. Max Homa for the current gen is one I really like a lot.
  2. 100% honesty - I very rarely pay attention to the grind. I do play CBX wedges, and have since they came out, so that's probably part of it.
  3. Morning all! I'm stuck at home with no car, which is being towed to the dealership as we speak (...er, I mean as I type and as you read) to see if they'll potentially replace the engine under warranty due to MANY well documented issues covering the exact problems I've had. In the meantime I'll be in and out of meetings and calls, as I prep to get everything I can done work-wise before leaving for the annual Ohio trip with the kids for World Championships next week. No rest for the weary, I guess!
  4. Hole 7 at Whaling City GC is a 550 yard par 5 with a forced layup off the tee, then a 180 yard carry over water before being faced with an elevated green protected by trees on both sides. It's a PITA hole that I've only ever parred once in all the years I've been playing there. It always eats my lunch.
  5. Yeah apparently this is a known issue. A coworker got rid of his as soon as this started. https://jalopnik.com/hyundai-owners-file-class-action-over-excessive-engine-1848797045
  6. Thanks man. The car is fixed… for now. Problem wasn’t the alternator. It was bone dry - not a single drop of oil in there So that’s something I need to keep an eye on. May need to buy a new car a few years before I was hoping to, depending on what my son gets for financial aid heading into his freshman year at UMass. Bye bye, money.
  7. I went from long irons to fairway woods to hybrids, and I'll never go back. Fairways worked really well when I struggled with hybrids, however fixing my swing helped me get along much better with hybrids and I now enjoy playing them.
  8. I'm at the office, and my car is at the garage. I had an appointment for an oil change tomorrow anyways so it's there a day early Looks like it may be the alternator, I'm in the office and I have a loaner if they can't get to it today. Thanks for the well wishes everyone! Much appreciated.
  9. Thanks man, I appreciate it. I’m in a tough spot, between an on-ramp, the entrance to a park-and-ride lot, and the angle of the sun right now making it difficult for drivers to see my hazards, I’m just hopeful everything works out OK. And just as I’m typing this, another idiot just flew up in the breakdown lane and almost hit the car. Unbelievable.
  10. Good morning everyone! I hope your day is going better than mine is. I’m currently stranded on the side of the road after my car died while in traffic. Tow should be here in approximately 90 minutes. I was able to pull over, but I’m right before a highway on ramp, so idiots keep flying up behind me in the breakdown lane trying to sneak onto the ramp and having to slam on the brakes. I’m standing outside the car to try and give people a warning so my car doesn’t get slammed into.
  11. This is the one I use as well but I don’t have a retractable lanyard for it. And I need one! But I’ve had it for a few seasons with no complaints.
  12. Sticking with the Mizuno ST-X. It worked great for me last season, and I see no reason to mess with that.
  13. My thoughts as well. I'd almost undoubtedly opt for the Stealth over the Edge set. Not a knock on the Callaways, I just feel those are a step down.
  14. I started playing to spend time with my father and grandfather. Now I play to spend time with my son and my friends, many of whom I've known for 30+ years. I guess at the end of the day, I play because of the friendships and relationships, vs any sort of competitive drive. Which is there, BTW - I originally started playing the game again when my doc told me no more hockey or 5ks due to my knee. But I just love being out there with people I'm close to, sharing some laughs along with the peaks and valleys of the game.
  15. ...retire? My balls all leave me like a disgruntled ex. I've never had the opportunity to retire one.
  16. Pretty surprising timing, TBH.
  17. I do a lot of reading, play video games (open world games/strong narratives tend to be my favorite), bike, and record/produce music. I have an all instrumental EP of post-rock tunes coming out in a few weeks - just waiting on cover art. I've also spent the last 10 years volunteering with our town's school music association, I've been on the board for 7 of those years. That's coming to an end in a few months with my youngest graduating, so I'm going to find a lot more free time on my hands for more golf and more hobbies (I hope!).
  18. Just wanted to post this for any southern MA/northern RI spies who might be interested in this event. This will be my last year organizing our scholarship fundraising scramble at Allendale CC in Dartmouth, MA so I'm hoping for a great turnout. We have a pretty big senior class this year so I'd like to raise as much $$ as possible for them. The event is May 5, shotgun start. All the info is in the link below - singles through foursomes are welcome! https://dsmahome.org/golf-fundraiser/
  19. Wow what a solid group of testers. As an avid walker, I'm looking forward to seeing what you all think of these.
  20. Love the fact that while he's learning new things about his swing and how to maintain/increase speed, he's sharing that on YouTube and social media with us regular joes.
  21. Comfy shoes, have more water than you think you'll need, and invest in a push cart if you can. I walk more than I ride and I love it. I don't find that it takes me any longer to play, walking gives me more time to consider my next shot, and I love getting the steps in.
  22. Oh wow. I hope you both have a speedy recovery!!
