  1. You should play from the tee box that fits your handicap and/or age. We didn’t start playing the senior tees until after 75, and we should have been playing them sooner! It made the game so much more in enjoyable. On the other hand we’ve been behind younger groups trying to play the back tees who maybe should have been playing the front tees and all they do is cause a bottleneck on the course. This is where a Marshall should step in!
  2. Just to throw this out there. Do people play different balls different temperatures? Maybe I’m crazy but it seems like the Maxfli softfli that I’ve been playing this winter goes farther in the cold. I like new balls but I don’t find the more you pay for a ball equals better results?
  3. On the same line of thought, I play with a group who are mostly seniors. There are courses where we play that have senior tees. It took me a while to convince everyone that we should be playing the senior tees ( those over 70). We are all in our 70's and 80's, and I am 77. It opened up a whole new world for us. Instead of hitting driver, three wood, long or short iron to the green on par fours, or driver, three wood, three wood, short or long iron on par 5's we are hitting driver, long iron or short iron to the green. Before, I could have left my 7,8, and 9 irons home and I wouldn't have missed them (except on some par threes). It's certainly brought a lot of the fun back into the game! If everyone had a handicap (which some of group doesn't) we could use that as a reason to move up, but at over 70 don't let your ego stop you from having more fun on the golf course! It also speeds up pace of play for everyone.
  4. Regarding gloves. the cold or wet weather gloves do work, but it is not the same as having just your golf glove. As mentioned above, which is a good idea, keep a pair of warm oversize mittens with you, that you can use between shots. Hand warmers are also a must in the winter months around here. Keeps your 2nd ball warm in your pocket and you can switch them every hole You can also stick one in your mitten to warm your hands!
  5. I also bought the 211 st blades. I'm a senior, and I thought I was idiot too, but I love them, and I'm finding that they are just as forgiving as the cavity backs that I had been playing. I think the biggest hurdle is trying to get use to the look. Don't get me wrong they are beautiful, however they look tiny . I find that if I just play within myself with them they are really great clubs! Enjoy! Been bad weather, so looking to get to play them much more
  6. I recently ordered the PXG 211 st blades and I love them. I'm a senior with about an 18 handicap and have never played blades before. I went from Cobra fly-z xl 2* flat irons to the 211 st blades 2* flat and they are sweet! At $89 per iron, they are worth every penny!
