Daniel.farish got a reaction from BIG STU in Do you actually use your 3-Wood?
I switched to a 7 wood and haven't looked back since. From the fairway, I hit my PW further than my 3-wood. More loft was the answer for me. For tight fairways, I hit a 3 hybrid off the tee. With roll out, I get about 240 yards

Picked up a used Callaway Legacy 7wood and 3hybrid. Haven't pulled the driver out of the bag, and have barely missed a fairway since I put them in play.

I play the Wilson Duo Soft. They're long for me, and they feel great around the greens. For me, it performs better than, dare I say it, the Chrome Soft. I even have a few 300+ yard drives with it (some with a bit of cart path love, but 300 is 300, amirite?)

I recently started using the Duo Soft Optix in both orange and red. The matte finish looks like it's glowing on a sunny day. They stand out when you miss the fairway (more often than not for me as a 17 handicap).

I'd say it's a great ball for the money, but really, it's just a great ball.

140 yard par 3. Put it six inches from the hole. Nearly my first hole in one.

Daniel.farish got a reaction from MGoBlue100 in Groove Sharpeners - Do they work?
Hey dudes. Question for the group. Does anyone on here use a groove sharpener, and done any testing before and after?

I have a old set of PRGR forged irons (TR900 circa 2005) that feel great and I love them, and they've done what I needed them to do. I currently play off a 17 handicap, but after some lessons and swing changes, I've gotten a lot more accurate and am hitting longer irons into greens more often. Now that I'm actually hitting greens from 150+ yards out, I've noticed that my balls aren't stopping like I feel they should. As in, I hit the front of the green or on the fringe and it runs though to the back.

So are groove sharpeners effective? Are they legal for use (will my clubs still be considered conforming)?

Thanks guys. I appreciate any advice.
