  1. That's a great looking pair of shoes. I'd strongly be considering a pair of those had I not purchased these 2 pairs of FootJoy Premier Series last year.
  2. I bought a new to me putter online in Oct of 2022 and it had a new "P2, Classic" grip on it. I had never heard of or seen this style putter grip before but it was a game changer for me. This style grip just fits my (left hand low) putting grip perfectly.
  3. I had used an Odyssey White Steel, 2 Ball CS putter that I won in a tournament way back in 2004. Then I replaced it in October of 2022 with a Cleveland Huntington Beach 6 CS Putter. The CS style putters just seem to work for my style of putting stroke and seems to fit my eye better than anything else out there. I have experimented with a few different putting styles, as well as different putting grips over the years. For the past 12 years or so, I'm convinced that my current left hand low putting style works best for me. My current putting grip on the Huntington Beach CS putter by Cleveland is a P2 Classic grip. Very impressed with that grip.
  4. I've been a long time fan of 14 way bags. I just find them to be the most functional and have always been user friendly. There's a place for every stick in the bag. The Bag Boy Lite Rider Pro I'm currently using replaced the Spin It Golf bag I used for years. As well as having to be a 14 way bag, any bag I consider using has to have a minimum of at least 9 pockets.
  5. Since 2009, I've been a member of & playing the Mannville Riverview Golf & RV Resort where every round is an adventure.
  6. I found this Cleveland Huntington Beach 6 Center Shaft Putter online back in October, 2022 for a very reasonable $105.00 CDN including taxes & shipping. It was listed as 9.5/10 condition wise so I picked it up. It just happened to arrive by courier the evening before the last tournament of the season. I spent half an hour or so just practice putting with it on the living room carpet that night and felt comfortable enough to take out my tried and true 2004 Odyssey two ball Center shaft putter and throw the Cleveland putter in the bag. It was off to the tournament the next morning where I spent more or less 30 minutes with it on the practice putting green. I was on the first green in regulation with a 13-14 foot, left to right breaking putt and what do you know, I dropped my first game putt with this putter for birdie. And the day just got better as I went on to make a total of 4 birdies. That right there is not something that this 12 handicapper has happen on a regular basis. I've always felt I was a decent putter but this new to me Cleveland Huntington Beach 6 Center Shaft Putter with the P2 grip was dialed in for the entire round. I had never heard of these P2 grips but I have to say it just felt good in my hands, seemed to give me a better feel in lining up my putts as well as feeling good making the stroke. Needless to say I happened to be in the prizes at the end of the tournament. I can say with a lot of certainty that this Cleveland putter will probably be in the bag for sometime.
  7. I've been using Martini tees for years. If I'm hitting Driver, it's always going to be teed up with a Martini tee. Any other club on the tee box I'll grab a wooden or a no name plastic tee out of the bag or look around the tee box for a broken one. I usually play a minimum of 100-105 games /year and I can sometimes go 2 years without breaking a Martini. They are resilient.
  8. GaryF: No, I wouldn't say I had a formal fitting, but I did spend a considerable amount of time in the practice bay comparing the HL & the HM irons. My swing speeds with irons is consistently low 80's (81-84 mph) with a smooth tempo. The shafts that they came with are my favorite shafts by True Temper...their Dynamic Gold 95, R300 steel shafts. I've had these shafts on my last 3 sets of irons (Taylormade, Ping & now Mizuno) and have always loved how they feel & perform for me.
  9. I have hit Mizuno's now & again over the years, be it someone I just happened to be golfing with that particular day that had set in their bag, or I've rented a set or two when on vacation. I can say I've never played poorly with them; they've always just felt good in my hands.
  10. I did have the sales guy bring out the Hot Metals as well, but I can't really say I felt a big difference between the two. It just seemed that I was hitting the Hot Metal, High Lauch clubs with more consistency.
  11. CK: Thanks, I'm pretty pleased with these new sticks. This was not an impulse buy by any stretch of the imagination. I've always had a desire to own a set of Mizuno's, I just needed to wait for the right set to come along. I regularly read club reviews and there had been numerous reviews of these clubs by people that are in a better position and more knowledgeable than I when it comes to interpreting specifications, manufacturing processes etc. Myself, I'm a "feel" golfer and it didn't take long to figure out that these JPX-923 Hot Metal, High Launch irons, steel shafts and all, feel exceptionally good.
  12. Mizuno had just released these irons to the Canadian market on October 15/2022. I just happened to be in Edmonton for an eye appointment on October 16 and stopped in at the Golf Town store. I asked the salesman if they had a set of the Mizuno JPX-923 Hot Metal High Launch Irons in store. It took him a few minutes to find them in the back storeroom, but he brought them out. I asked if I could hit the 6 & 7 irons in the practice bay and within the first few swings, I knew it would be hard for me to leave the store without them. I probably hit each club about 20 times. Contact with the ball was like butter, felt exceptionally smooth, and my dispersion was maybe 5 yds each way. I left the store to go to a scheduled eye appointment but as soon as I was done, it was straight back to Golf Town. I went home with a set of new Mizuno JPX-923 Hot Metal High Launch Irons (5-PW & GW). For the next 12 days I was played 27 holes a day. Not once did I feel I made a wrong decision. Last day of the season at my home course in Alberta (Mannville Riverview Golf & Resort Club) ended Oct 30. I am so looking forward to next golf season. Anyone interested in my Ping G400 irons?
  13. I have a like new 2020, Odyssey White Hot XG CS 2-ball centre shaft putter. Includes Odyssey head cover, new after market Winn Dri-Tac grip & the shaft is 33" long. Very nice putter. Asking $100 USD. (SOLD)
  14. Adams Golf just re-introduced these clubs in Dec/2020. Santa dropped them off for me at Xmas. I've only played about 25 games games with them and they just aren't working for me. They're in like new condition and come with the factory head covers. The graphite shafts are the Aldila 50 Synergy regular flex. Asking $120 USD each.
  15. Buffly: See if you can find a Ping G400 LST with 10.5* loft & regular shaft. Adjust the loft to 11*. Your swing speed of 100 +/- 8 mph doesn't warrant a stiff shaft. Pretty sure you'll be pleasantly surprised with this setup.
  16. Picked up a new Tight Lies 3 & 5 wood from Adams Golf for the upcoming golf season. Use to play the original Tight Lies back in 1995 so if they perform anywhere near the originals I'm gonna need a bigger trophy shelf.
  17. This is exactly the conundrum I'm having. Way back in 1998, I replaced my 3 & 5 Adams Tight Lies fairway woods with the Callaway Great Big Bertha Hawkeye 3, 5 & 7 woods with Hawkeye UL Firm Flex graphite shafts. Over the years I have bought & sold numerous fairway metals in the hopes of finding something to replace them. I know the reason I haven't found the right replacements clubs yet is because I have yet to find a shaft that is comparable to the Hawkeye UL Firm Flex graphite shafts. I'm still looking, but I did pick up the new Adams Tight Lies 3 & 5 woods this past month.
  18. I'm still using the Odyssey White Steel 2 Ball CS I won in a tournament in 2004. Last year I bought a new Odyssey White Hot 2 Ball CS to replace it but I couldn't find the heart to take the 2004 putter out of the bag...maybe this year. It's definitely showing its age but damn it's been a good putter.
