  1. Not true. As I stated in my response, I read the forum and the reviews to learn and I value the information that members have shared. I have encouraged my golf buddies to join My Golf Spy and explained the benefits. My intention was not to sound negative. Apologize if it came across that way. I've responded 30 times when I've praised a comment or a review. An example was the member who milled his own putters. Beautiful works of art. My comment about not applying for a Tester position was made because I didn't think I met the criteria, so I haven't applied lately although I've been interested is several products and follow up on the reviews that were shared. Could have stated that more clearly. With the knowledge that I've accumulated over the years, I thought that I could add some value when reviewing products. I agree with another responder who stated, being a senior might provide helpful information for other seniors. Didn't mean to de-value the community or anyone who is active in sharing their feedback. Regarding another response to my post about being a donor and not being listed as such, I don't know how to find the donor tag. No worries, I'll donate again this year and follow up on the donor tag etc.
  2. I've been playing golf since I was 14. I've repaired and built clubs using components from Ken Smith, Golfsmith, and GolfWorks since I was 16 after spending 2 days in the Hillerich & Bradsby manufacturing plant in the 1960's observing the technicians repair clubs. My Dad and I made many tools after my visit to H&B. I have read and studied Ralph Maltby's books and writings on GolfWorks before he retired as well as other publications, blogs and YouTube. Still have my Ken Smith swingweight scale and a number of tools from Golfsmith. I work on my own clubs and repair clubs for my golf buddies for free. I made a persimmon driver from a block of wood when I was still playing persimmon woods. Played them a few months longer than Davis Love III did. Incidentally, I worked a week for his father who was the PGA Professional at an Atlanta CC, as teenager taking care of the Pro Shop with a high school golf buddy while Mr. Love focused on the Pro-Am event that was the precursor to a PGA Tournament the following year. My best handicap was a +1 in my better playing days. Play to a 4 now from the senior tees. I've won some club championships both regular and senior and local county events and was a member of the Furman University Golf Team that won the University's first Southern Conference Golf title. This was many years prior to Brad Faxon's fame at Furman. I have been a My GolfSpy member almost 7 years. I have donated to My GolfSpy twice and received a thank you for my donations; however, my profile has never shown that I have donated. I began shooting my age at 68 and have shot my age or better every year since. I'll be 75 in July and shot my age over 60 times. I'm like "keywestnorm" above, don't drive it very far but my short game saves me. My golf buddies call me "Up and Down". Swing speed is way down due to two shoulders that need to be replaced; however, I don't want to be away from the game due to the length of recovery. Have to spend more time loosening & warming up. I inherited patience and attention to detail from my father which I think would be beneficial as a Tester. I read My GolfSpy posts and reviews. I have posted very few comments. Prefer to read and learn. I would take testing seriously. I have applied for testing numerous times and never been accepted. Stopped applying a few months ago after reviewing the listing of preferred criteria, especially the section on posting and commenting. Thanks for asking.
  3. Nice looking putter. Terrific job on the milling process. I'm assuming you milled it or had it milled. I've liked the original anser design especially the shorter length (heel to toe) design in the originals and later in the redesigns. With that said, I've never been able to putt well with them. As others have stated, I prefer mallets or the thin old fashioned blade putters. Years ago, Dunlop offered a putter with a fitting process before fitting was popular. It featured a neck similar to your putter that was easily bendable and perhaps a little longer. I don't think it was copper but it was a different color than the blade. Your blade looks great and the copper dot stands out nicely. Some people like an alignment aid on top and some don't. I'd be concerned that the copper neck (presuming it is relatively soft) would be subject to being jarred out of alignment during normal use in pulling the putter out of the bag and replacing it. Good luck with your project and grade for the assignment. Do you see value in the multi material design? As others have mentioned, it all comes down to feel. Multi-materials for only the sake of having them is not feature for me. Do you like the simplistic design? I agree with another reviewer in that I'd prefer the use of "traditional" design. IMHO, it would appeal to a lot of golfers. I do like the look. What is your favorite and least favorite part? Clean lines are my favorite part. Don't have a least favorite part. Would you be excited to use this? I'm a sucker for putters, so yes, I would like to try on a putting green. Would you consider purchasing this putter if there was a limited release? My consideration would be based on the price. Low price, yes. High price, no.
  4. I have favored the Footjoy athletic style for many years. Just bought the Sketcher's Go Golf Arch Fit 10.5 Wide. Have walked 2 rounds of 18 holes. Most comfortable golf shoes I've ever worn. Very light but good side support. I wore them around the house without my custom orthotics and chose to pull the inserts and use my orthotics on the course. Still very soft feel. I have a wide foot and high arches. Terrific shoe.
  5. Thanks for the Clic gear upright accessory recommendation. Bought one!
  6. Great wedges. Recommend them. Easy to bend if you want to change lofts and lies.
