  1. I kind of love them but like a previous poster the dividers must be full length. I use mid-sized +4 grips and they tangle and bind up in my stand bag. They make 14 way stand bags but I only mine for travel. On my home course I use a push cart so the big bag is fine.
  2. I have 6 pairs of BOA golf shoes form three different manufacturers. They all have held up very well. My oldest pair are over 5 years old. Never going back to regular laces!
  3. Birdie on the first hole at the Old Course 82 at Bethpage Black on the last Sunday before it closed for the US Open Breaking 80 at the National Golf Links of America Finishing 7th at the Pyongyang Open in North Korea Every minute of every hole at Pebble Beach
  4. Callaway X2 Hot. I keep trying new hybrids but none perform like this club. Super long and great out of bad lies. I have 3 of them just in case.
  5. Hard put them in order, each was amazing in its own way. Riviera Country Club National Golf Links of America Bandon Dunes The Old Course Trump International Golf Links Aberdeen PGA West Nicholas Tournament Pebble Beach Bethpage Black Whistling Straits Baltusrol Golf Club
  6. I'm on my 3rd set of Ping irons. They kind of own me ever since I got fitted. I have been drooling over P-790s and switch with my next set
  7. The first tee at: The Old Course- A bad shot makes you feel unworthy to play at the home of golf. My first time there I almost brained a four ball walking up 18. Bethpage Black - 430 yd. dogleg right, narrow fairway that requires at least 260 yards to clear the dogleg. Right and you in the rough and in jail behind trees, go left and your approach is 210, to a small green, hitting out of 4" rough. If you walk away with a bogey you are quite happy. Riviera Country Club - They frigging announce you, over the PA system, as you are walking up to the box. "now on the first Mr. Smith, the tee is yours" All are great for serious pucker!
  8. This is a complex question for me. I have the following: Bettinardi Queen Bee #6 (used the most) Scotty Cameron Futura Phantom Odyssey #7 2 Odyssey Pro Type #2 Scotty Cameron Detour I switch based on green speed and how I am putting. If I am putting well then the Bettinardi stays in the bag. If the greens are really fast I switch to the Odyssey #2. It gives me better touch. If the greens are slow I switch to either the Phantom or the Odyssey #7. The Detour is for when I have lost my stroke and need to get back to a pure roll. Each one is the exact same length and they have identical grips. my stance and feel does not change.
  9. Studies have shown that golfers walking with a caddie or a push cart tend to shoot better scores. I always walk except when playing very hilly courses or resort courses with very long transitions. I live in Palm Springs so I know hot weather. On hot days (above 105) if I can't get out early I will take a cart. I feel like the pace when walking is just better. You will wait to hit less often and the walking gives you time to get over the lousy shot you just hit. If you walk, get a push cart. On average walkers that carry will shoot higher scores. I don't know why but there is data to back it up. Good info on the benefits of walking: https://thewalkinggolfer.com/
  10. Sunday I played poorly but had one hole where I just killed. 515 yard par 5. Drive down the middle followed by a hybrid from an uphill lie, 220 to the middle of the green. It helped me forget about the duffed wedge from 15 yards that ended in a double.
  11. I get free range balls at my club but have spent many hours at public ranges. I usually opt for the bulk deal where they give you a key or code. You can get a bucket of 100 down to $10.00 or so. Worst ever was Chelsea Piers in Manhattan. At peak times (like after work or on the weekend it was $0.25 per ball!
  12. I have been an iron head cover user for years. Partly because the noise of them rattling together make me nuts, but mostly because I travel for golf quite a bit and I like the extra protection from TSA abuse. Pro tip: Caddies HATE them so remove them before handing your bag off.
  13. I have 7 putters. Two center shaft, thee toe hang and two face balanced. Four blades, one fat back blade and two mallets. I change based on green speed at the course of the day all the time. I change from face balance to toe hang if I am starting to miss left and the other way if I miss right. They are all the exact same length, loft and lie and have identical grips so they feel the same in my hands. If my stroke is grooved I will stick with one but as soon as something goes sideways I swap it out.
