  1. Thanks for posting, seems like most things, start SIMPLE FROM once in a while to now blaring examples of inconsiderate use --- an over reaction by me, I like to think I can play with anyone, well almost anyone. Now more than times then not as we play weekly we hear it from other holes and now to most music on carts has become an irritation - the situation you described is quite common, goes from quiet listening to hey my right. Plus over the years music on course seems to be getting louder as last weekend guys playing on #16 had their music loud enough we heard it on #7 about 300 yards away or 300 YEARS as not our style of music! hahaha Me, I am thinking back to the traditional thoughts I learned under and ALWAYS ENJOYED, that is, that golf and golfers are a different breed, different game as quiet at right time is part of the game - if two regulars cart riders agree to share the music...... and that means in your case either shutting off sometimes or switching to different blend of tunes, that to me is fine, BUT GOOD LUCK as seems too many are sensitive today and can't come to reasonable agreements. Take care, so me, I go with NO MUSIC as my vote if there was a vote. Over the years also now see, as we group up FEW IF ANY ask anymore, they just turn on and think, well you like music - NO I LOVE GOLF and my time I dedicate to enjoying GOLF ---- not your music!
  2. Sometimes the comments on here make me happy I don't play with many of you - no joke, get over yourself, Rickybobby_pr, and Riverboat said it right, we all learn the hard way --- get off the judgement seat -- UNLESS of course we are perfect people, reminds me of many forums - how guys say they bang their 3 wood 280 and driver 305 - they are probably the same guys that heard GI, $10 you have my virgin sister, some live in a different reality, and some have to learn the hard way. Time for me to get off my soap box, I just would like to see reality on here, like --- like those who would jam their friend ---- feel bad for how dumb he was, he knows it - and if he is bragging about how good the knock off is, he may cheat on his score anyway --
  3. Live in Maryland so keep me posted. Yes, golf don't need accommodations - Beach traffic over the Bay Bridge can be a bear, manageable at odd hours, meaning can be 5 mile backup on Sunday evening for those going back to BWI, however there is a longer, northern route as alternative. Friday's can be as bad so got to come in early on Friday.
  4. Great comments - yes when we have a great round going we can become slower, but once you discover most of those times your slowing down to analyze killed the round, you realize flow is everything. Speed of play, flow starts with dropping off partner at his ball and going to hit yours - watch carts, they sit and yack and then go to the next players ball. Change of rules is helping like flagstick in - drop. Does slow play impact game, complaint I hear the most, takes too long, not about rushing, twosome can play easy in 3 to 3 1/2 hours relaxing. Tour pros -- putting routine, line on ball for lineup -- great aide but then watch public golf and see guys copy and many it does not matter - still miss. More golf is more fun - the scores come from more play even those who do not work on their game get better playing more - therefore speeding up the game to me will lead to more golf, more satisfaction, more cash to courses. More rounds keep the cost down - dreamer maybe I am - and condition, even rough condition should not slow up play. Tough conditions, can impact speed of play, but then if golfers thrive on it and are prepared then does not slow down - you mark where your ball entered the rough, you make shots to the middle of the green. I am strong advocate of firm greens --- SEEMS TOO MANY EITHER THINK SOMEONE WILL COME OUT TO FIX THEIR MARKS or there are too many bad backs in my area of the country. Fast and firm greens --- I know good and bad putting comes from my either having it or not - stroke and read. .
