  1. Best of luck with your recovery Foz, hopefully you'll be back up and swinging a club soon. It's good to hear your wife's recovery is coming along well.
  2. That was a fun video and I was shocked to see one land and stay on. It was just amazing to see shots hit the strip and roll off. I've seen the 500 shot challenges and am really impressed by the social media presence the DP TOUR has. I'm definitely going on Twitter and giving them a follow after this. Thanks for sharing!
  3. Congratulations Alan! I know you said it isn't as fulfilling as you thought, but it's a great reminder of how much hard work you put in and something to be proud of. I'm happy for you and glad to hear it came in!
  4. Looking forward to the draft tonight, I'll be able to hang around for at least my first pick, after that it'll probably be auto draft. I put players in my queue, so hopefully it won't cause the draft to lag too bad. Bedtime comes early for me.
  5. I took the day off today because my wife needed to take her mom to the doctor early today and since I wake up early, I was going to drive. Well, her mom accidentally took her blood thinners and I found out after I got home the appointment got cancelled. I went to the range and got to swing a club at a ball for the first time in over a week. I've been working on staying connected during the swing while in the house and wanted to see if it helped, especially on partial wedge shots. It worked out really good, except for the shank I hit on my first shot at 50 yards. Wedges were good, irons were good, I think I might have figured out something with the driver. I was getting a little steep with it on the backswing and toned it down a touch and was hitting solid drives. I also took my 5 wood and that was a disaster. I couldn't even muster the ability to top it. I whiffed on several shots, hitting the mat behind the ball and just had it bounce over the ball. It was frustrating, to say the least. It's going to take some work to build back skill and confidence with it. The good new is, after this week I'm off for two weeks and will be able to get out and play. I just hope the weather cooperates and stays decent.
  6. Those wedges are drop dead gorgeous. I love the copper finish.
  7. Sounds like a good time and thank you for getting this together.
  8. I'm sure the golf course misses you and will welcome you back after your trip. I hope you have a safe and fun trip to Palm Springs.
  9. I can't complain about the performance of the VW's I've leased in the snow and in slippery conditions. My second one was a 2014 Jetta base model that had 115 hp. That car was not my favorite as it was weak as all get out. We had a night where we had some of the wintry mix and I went to to pick up pizza. It was getting slick by the time I was heading home, I could tell by the Ford Ranger that was getting squirrelly in front of me. I get to the entrance to my road and there's this Mitsubishi SUV on the hill going nowhere. After waiting behind them for a few minutes, I pulled into the other lane and went to the house.
  10. I'm mainly worried about those of us that grew up down here that think because we have a pickup with 4wd that it'll be no problem. Back a few years ago, we had 7 inches and had to go to work. I lived in Birchwood, TN at the time and had just leased a convertible Beetle because my truck blew up and I couldn't afford to get it fixed because we were buying our house at the time. I counted 6 trucks in the ditch as I plugged along in the Vdub. It took about 2 1/2 hours to get the thirty miles just to find out not enough people made it to run. I stuck it out the full day because I didn't want to have to make that trip again. I really wish I could find the photo I took of the snowhawk my car had when I got there.
  11. Looks like you're going to be getting it until about 4. Hopefully it won't be too much more accumulation, you ain't kidding when you say those of us from Tennessee don't drive well on it. We ended up getting around an inch here. I'm just glad the roads are looking good right now because I've got to go pick up groceries in a couple of hours.
  12. Congratulations on the milestone!
  13. Congratulations on the milestone! I'm glad you found this place to share your thoughts about golf, life, cooking, and for sharing your knowledge about this great game. You've been a help for me. Keep the posts coming, you always contribute quality and I enjoy having you here.
  14. It's amazing how time just flies by, but it has been the time of my life. It's amazing how the right person can do that for you.
  15. Who took this picture of me without me knowing? We're starting to get some snow and the temperature is around 35. The roads are pretty good right now as I had to run to the Dollar Store to pick up a couple of things for dinner tonight. It's supposed to get into the mid 20's tonight so the roads might get a little slick. My current situation: 20220116_131543.mp4
  16. I think it'd be fun to go up to HQ, I've been wanting to do the trip up there for the last couple of years. I think it would be fun to get to meet a bunch of fellow spies and get to know them in person.
  17. The breakfast turned out wonderfully, we made sausage, hash browns, bacon, biscuits and gravy. We made the gravy in the instant pot using the grease from the meat and it was the fastest I've ever got it done. We made enough that we're going to have the leftovers tonight, I'm just going to have to pick up more bacon.
  18. Thank you! Can't believe it's already been 10 years and she's been able to put up with me for so long. It's been a wonderful journey so far and I couldn't ask for a better person to share it with.
  19. I just took a nostalgic trip down memory lane. It's our 10th anniversary weekend and the wife and I, being nerds, watched Ghostbusters: Afterlife. So good. The original was my favorite movie growing up and the only movie I've seen 35 times. I was geeking out so bad. The music, the references, and the Easter eggs were well done in a movie that could stand on its own.
  20. And that's why you can't always trust Spell check. Wow.
  21. What kind of bread were you making? I've always thought it would be fun to experiment with bread making.
  22. You could pair it with sore elbow macaroni. Glad to hear the elbow is feeling better, btw.
  23. 1. You just made me hungry. I love me some bacon and the idea of using the leftover potatoes is brilliant! 2. Seeing this makes me thankful we're doing breakfast for dinner tonight. Anything else and I would have been disappointed.
