  1. Looks like we've got a great group of testers for this one. I hope y'all have some fun with it and congratulations on being chosen!
  2. Good morning everyone! It's a beautiful, cool morning and I'm just hanging out in my wife's car before work. Hopefully I'll find something out about mine today and I hope they find something as the warning went off before I got it towed. I don't want to be driving something that might mess up on me. I hope you all have a great day!
  3. I'm just now getting on the forum, I've had an adventurous evening and not in a good way. I left work and started to get in the interstate when my car decided to get a case of the rumbles, it felt like I was driving in the rumble strip on the side of the road. I saw the check engine light and an EPC warning along with "auto stop/start not working". Fortunately, there's another exit two miles down and a Walmart there. I called the wife to come pick me up and roadside assistance to get the car. We drove to the dealership after getting the car towed and I should have taken the left at Albuquerque. Instead, I hit Bonny Oaks drive which was not Shallowford road. My wife says not to worry, we can take Hickory Valley and cut across. Unfortunately, making a left there was brutal. The intersection had a red light, but coming from my direction it didn't have a turn light. I waited three turns off the light before I just kind of blew the thing. I had been waiting for around 10 minutes and the wife suggested the suicidal maneuver. I got to the dealership where I was hoping to get a loaner car while mine was being repaired, but they don't loan cars to employees. That was a waste of time. We had to stop and pick up dinner and now I've eaten and cleaned up for tomorrow. I'm going to be driving the wife's car tomorrow since I didn't want to deal with the leasing company simply because I've heard that there's 12 people in line for a loaner ahead of me. Hopefully they'll get the car back on the road quick.
  4. @Josh Parker I hope you get to feeling better.
  5. Good morning everyone! It's a bit cooler this morning than it has been and it's nice not to have some rain in the forecast. It was a good weekend since I was able to get out and play and while I didn't score well, it was awesome to be out on the course. I hope y'all have a great start to your week!
  6. I appreciate it @CFreddie! I'm hoping to keep the momentum going throughout the year and surpass the goals I set forward.
  7. It's still early in the season but I wanted to update this thread on how I'm doing on achieving the goals I set out at the end of last year for this year. 1. Play more I'm off to a good start with this one, even though I've had some health setbacks the last few weeks that have hurt the number of rounds I've played. I'm not sure where the round count stands as of right now, but I have been able to get out on the course more since the start of '24 than I did in the last five months of '23. 2. Play more with friends This has been the goal I've probably done the best on this year. My friends and I have been able to play around five times so far this year and this season is still young. I find that it's a lot more relaxing playing with others and I'm a lot more gentle with myself around other people. 3. Play new to me courses So far, I've only gotten to play one new course and that was yesterday at Olde White Oak which I really enjoyed and plan on going back to. It was fun and now that I've seen the course I think I might be able to formulate a plan to play it better. I'm not worried about meeting this goal since the forum trip is coming up at the end of May and that'll put me at 4 courses this year. 4. No real scoring goal This one hasn't changed much and I would still be happy to get back to the level I was at in 2019. I don't know if this will happen but I'm determined to improve. I just did a calculation of my handicap of the last 19 rounds I've been able to dig up and the handicap is sitting at a 31.5 which is a little saddening to me. I am seeing improvements in my game and hope I can build on this positivity moving forward.
  8. I family got caught back up on this thread and read the introductions that have been posted recently and will say, you guys are killing it. All the mock ups that @jbernhas posted up have been insane and interesting. I would have a hard time just choosing between the 33 options they have on their website. Personally, I like the T alignment. I'm looking forward to your putters arriving and seeing how they improve your games.
  9. That looks great! I like the gazebo and how it's got the netting around it to keep the pesky critters out.
  10. I think the big issue was not being able to get my phone to connect to the GPS, I tried connecting and it just kept looking for a signal. I loved the 8th, it reminded me of the hole at the Gatlinburg municipal with the elevated tee shot. I didn't play any of the par three holes well, but at least I played this one better than the 10th. After this round, it's going to be interesting to see how high I score at RNK and Kingsmill. The rating and slope are 67.2/114 and so I have a feeling I might shoot 200 at RNK.
  11. That's motivation enough not to do it, I hate dealing with skeeters. Those boogers are vile and evil.
  12. I was wondering the same thing, from the photo in your original post it looked like someone had a pet monkey they let loose. Those Fox squirrels can get huge! I used to see them quite a bit back in my hunting days and they could sound like a deer with all the noise they made going through the leaves.
  13. Good morning everyone! There's not much going on here this morning except for drinking coffee and being a place for the animals to prop up against. I think they like stealing my body heat. I got a round in yesterday and got not playing or swinging a club in three weeks, I was pretty happy with how things went. I didn't score my best, but it was a fun time getting out with some friends and whacking a ball around. @Rob Person when you started your story I thought someone was robbing you, but I now see it was just an unknown hit to your bank account by SWMBO. I would be tempted to go out and open it, but I have poor self control. I hope you all have a great Sunday!
  14. I meant to say this earlier, congratulations on a personal best @Rob Person!
  15. I got out today to play a new to me course with some friends from work. The course we played is Olde White Oak golf course in Athens TN and I have to say, I'll definitely play it again. I got to the course and I noticed two things. 1. It was pouring rain. 2. I had no Internet and couldn't use ShotScope. I almost went insane. The course itself has been around for a while and is under new ownership and they are working to improve the course. From what I saw, they're doing a great job and it'll be great to see where it is in a few years. As for the golf, I shot 60/59 for a 119. I couldn't tell you any specific area I was struggling in. I hit good drives, bad drives, good approaches, bad ones... You get the picture. I had a couple of blow up holes on 10 and 11. On 10 I hit a hosel rocket into a muddy area and had to chip 4 times to get to the green. I was living up to my screen name. It's a par 3 that's I made an 8 on. I was also +5 on 11 and honestly I can't remember what went wrong I'll just say everything. The coolest hole in the course was the 200 yard par 3 8th, I don't know how elevated it is but it is high up. I didn't play it well, I'm I enjoyed every moment. I did hit two greens in reg, the 12th and 13th. I made par on the first one and 4 putted the second. I can't complain, it was a wonderful time getting out with some friends.
  16. I woke up at like 3:35, I'm usually up at 3:15. Felt like I got an extra eight hours of sleep.
  17. Good morning everyone! The coffee is flowing this morning in an attempt to liven me up as I'm dragging a bit this morning. I shouldn't be since I have a round scheduled in about three hours and I'm excited to get on the course. @Dead Solid Bogey that anti theft device would work on this Gen X'er as I've never learned to drive a manual. There were repeated attempts to make me learn, but they never stuck. I found it as difficult as shallowing and getting my weight properly transferred. You might also have to throw in a pinch of ball first contact to that recipe to season it right. I hope you all have a great Saturday!
  18. The vote is taking place this week and ends tonight, we should know the results in the morning. My intuition is leading me to think they'll get in as we had about 55% sign cards to allow the workers to vote on it. I will say, in the three campaigns I've been part of i have seen and Heard both the good and bad.
  19. I just made it home from work and it is crazy how much I'm having to catch up on. I like it! For some strange reason, our ability to get good Internet service inside the plant has gone the way of the dodo bird and it's quite frustrating. @Josh Parker I'm just jealous of the deck. Honestly, it looks awesome and I know you'll make lots of memories there. @CFreddie happy anniversary! @GolfSpy_KFT I hope your oldest gets to feeling better. @Northern Monkey congratulations on the new personal best round! That's freaking awesome! @Wheelieb I hope you can find some answers to your ailments. @EnderinAZ I hope things went well for you today. @ILMgolfnut have fun today with @Tom the Golf Nut I've had the pleasure of playing a few rounds with him and he's a great player and fun to be around. Plus, he's a scholar and a gentleman. I've got a round scheduled tomorrow morning and it's going to be wet and sloppy after all the rain, but it's going to be a good time.
  20. Good morning everyone! I slightly overslept this morning and I didn't know why. I still made it in plenty of time since I get to work insanely early. I'm just glad it's Friday and I have plans to play tomorrow. It's going to be wet as we have some storms coming in today. I hope all of you have a wonderful start to your weekend!
  21. I can't wait Derek! I'm actually planning to get a round in Saturday with some guys from work and it's going to be great to be out on the course after a couple of less than stellar weekends. When though I haven't seeing a club in a couple of weeks, I'm planning on having a good time and not being overly concerned on what I shoot, I just want to play.
  22. @buckpillar I hope they can get things figured out with your mother-in-law. @RichL85 I'm sorry to hear about your father-in-law and I hope they can get him taken care of. @Cfhandyman, I'm almost through the TXG video and I have to say I'm enjoying the banter between you, Ian, and Mike. I am extremely jealous of your ball striking ability.
  23. It was another great call today and I had a lot of fun getting to talk to y'all. I'm with @TSauerand I have the TXG video with @Cfhandyman on my to watch list tonight. Derek, it was good to see you out on the course today.
