  1. I've used the same putter for almost 20 years, and can't seem to decide if it's time for a switch, I think it is, but not sure. I have been more inconsistent lately with my putting than I have ever been, and feel like my speed control has been the big issue. Could be that it's all in my head at this point.
  2. To be honest, it all depends on the angle of the sun for how it looks in the fairway. It does stand out pretty well, I did lose a couple in the rough the other day, but in that rough I would have lost any color ball I think. My dad, who complains about never being able to see the ball, seems to be able to pick these up better in flight and as they land. They definitely seem to almost glow and would be really exceptional in low light, from what I can tell. When I buy my next 2 dozen I will do one dozen white and one dozen of the neon matte again, I like the option to mix it up.
  3. I first did a Titleist Thursday event, then went multiple times with the pro at my local course, trying every brand offering and like several have mentioned none of the others came close to the TS3 for me. When doing the Titleist fitting the fitter told me it was the best on the market and he would put it up against any others, I figured it was just part of the sales pitch so to speak, even though there was no pressure from him. However, with each driver dialed in, the TS3 outperformed every brand, for me it was hands down the best driver on the market. I hit the Ping G410, M5 and M6, the Cobra F9, and Callaway Epic Flash SZ, the TS3 beat them all.
  4. I recently went through a full bag fitting (check out what I got on the What’s in your bag thread), I was replacing irons from 07 and a driver from 08, and a sand wedge from 2001, but kept my Cleveland Launcher 3wood from 2006ish. I couldn’t justify the cost of a new 3 wood with how good I still hit this baby. So, what is everyone’s oldest club in their bag. Disclaimer: I still have my original Ping B60 putter handed down from my dad, that has been in play between the two of us since the early 90s, I’ve had it since 2002.
  5. I bought 2 dozen of the Tour balls based on the MGS ball report and the need for an affordable “premium” ball. I got the glossy white and matte neon green. Through one round with each I couldn’t be happier. I’ve been looking for a permanent ball for a while, and this is it. I have been getting the same distance with these as ProV1 and have not had any issues around the green. They feel great and will drop, hop, and stop. Two days ago I broke 80 for the second time in my life shooting a 78 with these, and that was with 3 double bogeys, but also 2 birdies. In short, for 2 for $50, and I had a $10 off $50 or more at Dicks coupon, i have found my ball for the foreseeable future and can’t imagine switching. Great ball, great price. Attached photo is my tap in birdie after about a 40 yard pitch with my 56 degree wedge.
  6. I have played 3 rounds and a couple of range sessions with them and have really enjoyed them. My previous set was 12 years old with stock regular flex shafts, I have noticeably more control with these, and my tempo allows for much more solid contact with these. I had a problem with my old set hitting a lot of fat shots and spraying alot to the right, that has gone away so far, but that was all part of doing the fitting to get the right shafts for my swing speed and tempo. It was between these and a Nippon shaft, but I got better distance and dispersion with these.
  7. My first full new set, but also my first equipment upgrade since 2008, it is definitely an upgrade and looking forward to many years with these.
  8. I went through a club fitting from March to early May, tried Ping, Callaway, Taylormade, and Titleist with trackman and shotscope. I went full bag except 3 wood and putter, so my bag now has: Titleist TS3 Driver 9.5 degree, hzrdus smoke 6.0 shaft Cleveland Launcher 15 degree 3 wood/metal Titleist 818 H1 19 degree hybrid, Tensei red 70hy stiff shaft Titleist 718 AP3 irons 4-PW, Project X LZ Shafts 120g, stiff flex Vokey SM7 48 degree F GRIND, Vokey SM6 52 degree F GRIND, and Vokey 56 degree M GRIND Ping B60 putter
  9. Well, my journey back last year got delayed by purchasing a new house and taking on some new roles at work, but this year I have really gotten back into it, went through a club fitting, got new clubs and have played several rounds. First time in years that I have played more than 2 times in 12 months, I have played now 6 rounds since March, and yesterday broke 80 for the first time in 15 years shooting a 78. Next goal for this summer is to break 80 again, but on my home course, which more difficult than where I played yesterday, and get my handicap into single digits. Also, my daughter will be attending golf camp at the end of July.
  10. Hello all, I was an avid golfer for several years, but took some time off with small kids and graduate school, only played a couple times a year the last several years, kids are older now and wanting to learn and I have gotten the bug again while teaching them. Excited to be golfing more regularly again, hoping one day soon my oldest will be able to complete her first round with me.
