  1. You beat me to AB, he’s an all or nothing player, and with my team where it is, I needed the potential.
  2. Thanks! It’s taken me a while to get used to as well, but it is growing on me.
  3. Where can you find the scoring?
  4. If you ain’t first, you’re dead last. Participation trophies are for... Well, I can’t finish my thought on this forum without breaking some rules, but you know what I mean.
  5. So... I came in Dead Last... even losing to the guy who withdrew with 2 weeks left. That clearly wasn’t my best performance. Oh well, I still had a blast with this challenge. We’ve got so many great member who contribute to this thread year in and year out, too many to name, but y’all should know how much we appreciate you. Somehow, even with a significant swing rebuild, and coming in a verrrrrrrry distant last, I still managed to drop my handicap 1.4. That not nearly as much as our newly crowned champion @B.Boston, but it’s still very respectable. Baseline New aver
  6. Frankly, I agree. Well, they won’t end well for the guy talking to me. Seriously, congrats on the driver, and you did an absolutely excellent job keeping this thread entertaining! Well deserved!
  7. Pfft, it wouldn’t be a CCC thread if someone didn’t rag on my age. It’s been a hell of a lot of fun. I’ve enjoyed every minute of it! 58* wedge, then surprisingly the 3W. The flop shots I can hit with the 58° are absolutely amazing. Not to mention it is just automatically within 10-15 feet from 80 yards. The 3W because of the Baffler rails. I finally found one I can hit off the deck, and it’s nice. This is interesting, I’ll need to post a photo of mine, but I’m seeing significantly more wear on my 54*. I’m not sure if it is due to the soil here being mostly clay, or what.
  8. To add to what @edingc said, the system also uses your phones microphone to detect the sound of the ball being hit. Usually the system doesn’t mark practice swings (for me), because there is no sound. I’ve also had no real issues with Arccos detecting shots where I took no practice swing. I don’t get up and play at the break of dawn, so I’ve had no issues with there not being enough light.
  9. Official Arccos Review -GB13 So it’s finally time to review the unsung hero of the Cobra Connect challenge and winner of the hardest worker award... Arccos!!! I’ve never used any type of shot tracking before, so I was a blank slate to be impressed or disappointed. We were given both screw-in sensors for our old clubs, and our new Cobras came with smart sensors embedded in the grips. On the Course Performance - 3/5 Stars Arccos offers a very slick app interface (although it lacks a tutorial on how to use it). You simply download the course beforehand, pick
  10. Yep, I played there for the first and only previous time last year (from the whites) and it’s a beast from there! It’s situated on an Indian reservation in the middle of nowhere. Its a beautiful setting, surrounded for miles by wide open rolling prairie. That said, it is maintained absolutely perfectly with super quick greens, and is 100% my favorite course. I’d say it’s an absolute must play if you’re in the area... but I’m not really sure why you would be. Seriously, check out this photo gallery which doesn’t even do it justice: https://www.dacotahridge.com/about-the-course/photo-g
  11. First off, my apologies for not being super active this week. School started for me, so my amount of free time has been cut down a bit. Anyway, for this week’s challenge, I decided to partner up with my mom. We used to play all kinds of alternate shot/scramble/best ball games when I was little and she was introducing me to golf, and I figured it be fun to do again. Nostalgia!! We had an absolute ball of a time, and while the golf was subpar (most confusing terminology ever), it was great to do again. We ended up shooting an 88 at my home track (68.6/128). Her adjusted handicap is 19. She
  12. Who was he gonna pick? The dude from Boston?
  13. Unfortunately, I’ve not had any AHA moments with my Cobra’s like my fellow competitors. That said, I’m in the middle of a swing “rebuild” and I’m starting to see signs of improvement. So I’m very hopeful for the future. The bright spot the last few weeks has definitely been the 3 wood off the deck. I have a lot more confidence going into par 5s now!
  14. Welp, that’s the worst round of the challenge for me... at this point, I’m deciding which screenshots of my “adventures” make the cut. Need to work on some consistency apparently... Yes, that’s a 49 yard drive off the opening tee. Scramble much? That ain’t the right fairway. Nor are you supposed to be on the previous hole’s teebox for your third. “Nice drive dumba$$!” -me on the green “Wait, it’s where?!?” - me to the group on the 8th hole. Not cart path aided. Must have been doping before that shot...
  15. Damn! Sorry to hear this! I hope you heal up quickly! You’ve done this competition proud.
  16. I frankly want to see that too. I’m waiting for @daviddvm and his magic One Lengths. Yeah, they’ve really put a lot more effort into the greens this year, and it has paid off in some really nice rolling fast greens. Last year they were pretty much like playing Plinko.
  17. “Had I not hit that (expletive) first ball OB, that would’ve been an eagle” - me, last Sunday
  18. Well, I was pretty happy with my entry this week, but then I saw @Headhammer‘s darts, and then I was less stoked... Anyway, actual measurement was 4’8”, I’m sorry I didn’t get a pic with the tape measure like the other two. This was a not so solid 8 iron that I caught off the toe, but sill flew very well. On the pin the whole way, it just needed to go!
  19. Legally, no, but if you go by my other ID, yes.
  20. Don’t most good stories start with that?
  21. Welp, I’m officially scarred for life now. I’ll never be able to picture Blair or Lexi looking like anything other than this. Your wife is smart!
